Creekside Cottage #18 What lovely secluded cottage. It was quiet, private, very refreshing. The owner was very nice and his dog Sherpa very friendly. Definitely will return to this cottage again. August was good time of year.

Nice and rustic--fully equipped cabins on the Yuba river 4 miles east of Downieville. Our cabin was clean and well kept. The owners are friendly and helpful, providing information about the area. Your best plan is to cook at home, the kitchen has everything you need. There is a charcoal grill provided (BYO charcoal). Not inexpensive, but we found the...

We stayed in the Jim Crow cabin-- it is the most isolated of them all with several stairs to descend to reach the cabin. The deck offered a gorgeous view of the grounds and the river. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. No TV and limited wifi, but plenty of games and puzzles to borrow for entertainment. There are...

Beautiful property overlooks the North Yuba River, with pleasant lawns and huge pine and fir trees. The friendly owners have placed small decorations, flower gardens and sitting chairs here and there, creating a very relaxing ambiance. The cabins are clean and comfortable, and their kitchens are very well equipped. Some are right on the river while others are in the...

We rented the Fly caster cabin. It is a one bedroom on the river. Everything was clean and neat. The cabins are a little dated, but wonderful. Our cabin had a wood burning fireplace with free firewood. The innkeepers were helpful, friendly and attentive. This was our second visit. No Wifi, TV or cell service. It is located in one...

We rented Blue Jay cabin for the Grandkids and parents and we stayed in Dogwood cabin. Blue Jay has a larger kitchen and is right on the river so we had our meals there. The place is very clean and well equiped. The Inkeepers were very helpful.

We were there during their first opening of the season in March. Since we were the only guests it was super quiet and serene. I imagine it can get quite busy in the summer. Very nice and attentive owners. We hope to get back soon.

I've been taking my vacations in the Sierras for several years now, as I love the mountains and have gotten into prospecting as a way to relax. It's like hunting, except you don't have to harm little critters while doing it. I first found the Sierra Shangri La I think in 2011, when Patty and Richard had just started as...

We made our reservation at the last minute and the innkeeper was more than accommodating. We asked for and received the Kingfisher room in the lodge. As noted in other reviews, the room is small, but very clean and has a sliding glass door which leads to a deck overlooking the river. We were there for only one night and...

We always wanted to stay here many years ago. Fortunately, we got in on a cancellation. We stayed in La Siesta. The cabin was right on the river and enjoyed our time alone and our peace and quiet. If you want a peaceful vacation near the Lakes Basin, book this cabin. The location and view will be perfect.
