Stayed 3 times last summer...must be good! Food was excellent at the dining car and the lady at the bar...wonderful! Will go several times again this coming season, will bring group of friends too. Stayed in Caboose #1, #25 several times and #26 my favorite.

We already love Dunsmuir, but finding this little gem makes it even better. Our caboose (#12) had a double cupola with a view of Castle Crags. Great for coffee, reading, just hanging out. It snowed as we arrived and in the morning snow covered everything. We had dinner here and enjoyed some local firemen's Christmas party which went on during...

The wife and I had a great stay here. This was our last stop on a week long journey through Oregon and back into California. We stayed in car #12. Very clean and comfortable room. Our only regret was not being able to experience dinner here, we did take a tour of the dinner cars and the inside looks amazing....

I came to Dunsmuir to visit my new grandbaby and was a little worried about how clean it was based on previous reviews, but the cabin was immaculate! I had no qualms about bringing my newborn grandbaby into this cabin. The staff here were considerate and helpful, the grounds and view are beautiful and the cabin was perfect. The cabin...

Congrats on the new grandchild. And thank you for taking the time to review cabin #4. We have two light housekeeping cabins and they are equipped and sunny as you stated. Thanks so much.

We were so glad we found this great place hidden just off the highway in Dunsmuir. We stayed in Caboose #10 with a big bed and 2 singles for the kids. This place is a perfect place to stop for the night or make your home away from home for several days and nights. Lots to do and see In...

Each and every one of the 27 railroad cars is outstanding done, positioned and offers great views of the surrounding mountains. The dinning in season said to be good...not open when we visited...and the extra railroad engine, snowplow, etc. were unusual to say the least. WIFI only works when you get close to office but folks in the office very...

What a wonderful, and quaint slice of what we used to enjoy before the advent of chain hotels and bland, dull, box motels. This great little place just off the highway and tucked in the trees offers a lot more than I had expected. I stayed in a Santa Fe caboose, and It was really cool! There were four of...

If you are a lifelong fan of trains and railroads like I am, or even if you're not, you will enjoy this wonderful combination of museum and motel. In a park-like setting amongst tall pines, there are a dozen or more cabooses set a out under the trees, each serving as a motel room.

Recent stay in Caboose 28 (on the end good location) was a unique laid back vibe and right price range. We stayed early October and the weather was fantastic and great views and access to castle crags. We hiked castle crag and it took us 6hours round trip, well worth the views...my advice would be keep eyes on the trail...

Great location right off the 5 in a quiet grove. Super nice managers helped us get settled and had ideas for exploring the area. The colorful cabooses are placed on tracks in a circular encampment around a swimming pool. There is also a miniature creek that runs through the site so you hear the sounds of a babbling brook from...

What an informative review....thanks. Yes, a little drop down table in the cupola would be fun. It was not "standard" equipment when they were use to spot up and down the tracks....but then they weren't having cocktails or reading (hopefully)
