This is a two-story multi-building motel property in El Portal, 10 minutes from Yosemite's west entrance. It provided an affordable alternative to pricey in-park lodges. The room was spacious, clean and included a refrigerator for travel snacks & beverages. There is no cell phone reception in this part of the Merced river valley. (Excellent cell service in the park, however.)...

When we arrived, the room we were supposed to stay had the bed dismentaled so we asked for another room. Already this was suspicious. In the second room, we had a double queen bed and got bitten by bedbugs (visible!) in the night so we requested another room at 3 am. The third room we occupied had bedbugs also, so...

My husband, daughter, grandson and I stayed here to visit Yosemite. The motel seems to rely on its proximity to the park to keep it in business. We requested a non-smoking room but the block where our room was had originally been allocated for smokers (there was a notice to that effect), we could smell smoke in the soft furnishings....

Comfortable rooms but no coffee pot. Two restaurants -- almost identical menu. Ate in both. One is pricier than the other -- you pay for the ambience and service. Food okay - not great. Service was excellent at the pricier one. Unfortunately, that one was closed on Sunday night! As a result, the cafeteria-style restaurant was packed with not enough...

Pleasant spot, but missing lots of amenities--no microwave, no wi-fi in rooms, no coffee maker, no hair dryer, no cell service, plus an outrageous $9/day charge for wi-fi in the lobby. 6 miles west of El Portal, so you're further from the Park and you're stuck with the over-priced mediocre restaurant or the mediocre motel grill. A bit run-down. Nice...

This is about as close to Yosemite Valley as you can get without staying in the park. Only Yosemite View is closer to the entrance near Yosemite Valley. I highly recommend it if you do not want to camp and cannot get hotel reservations in the park (or prefer a hotel less expensive than those in the park). This is...

Stayed here as part of a road trip booked through virgin. Rooms dated, staff not really interested at check in/out and wifi chargeable. On the plus side, location excellent and barman a really great guy- friendly and explained what can be seen in yosemite. Unfortunately we knew about the history of the place which concerned us a little (security seems...

We recently returned from a trip to California and spent a few days in Yosemite. We had hoped to stay inside the park, but we are a family of six and couldn't find reasonably priced accommodations that could fit our family. We opted to try the Cedar Lodge, which wasn't cheap at $188/night but reasonable for our family size. We...

My review is from the point of view of a teenage girl so if you're traveling with teenagers hopefully my review will be helpful to you. We stayed in Cedar Lodge for 2 nights straight after staying at THEhotel - Las Vegas, so obviously our opinion was somewhat distorted before we'd even check in. Overall I guess the word to...

Thank you for taking the time to write a review for us. I really like Las Vegas too. All of our 2 queen deluxe rooms and rooms with Kitchens and Junior Suites and King Spa rooms have coffee makers. Our standard rooms do not . We hope to have coffee makers in all our rooms this year. Thanks Colleen
