We actually had a cabin to ourselves with a huge window that faced the Pacific, despite appearing rustic everything was what you would expect from a nice inn experience, the bed was comfortable, the breakfast all that could be wished for, the people very attentive and helpful. My wife really enjoyed the massage that was her birthday present, you really...

The location is beautiful and it is very clean and well-run by friendly, professional staff. And the breakfast is really good. The views are breathtaking. We stayed in a cottage and while it had a certain rustic charm, the cottages all contain two rooms and share extremely thin walls with the neighbors. We could hear conversations, coughing, bathroom noises, footsteps...

My husband and I stayed here with our large breed dog and had a great experience! The walk down to the beach from the Inn was so nice and there was hardly anyone else there, so it was almost like having a private beach. We have a beautiful welcome basket when we arrived and even a dog basket with items...

Staying in Seascape room. Clean and well kept. Gas fireplace pretty and good heat source for room. Good breakfast buffet. Quiet and beautiful location. Very happy I chose Elk Cove Inn. Looked up multiple places and chose this one. Easy access to Mendocino and wine country inland. Staff is friendly, helpful, and not at all annoying. Love it.

My husband and I chose to stay at this little inn because it was located between San Francisco and Mendocino. It was the perfect location traveling up route 1 along the coast. Being from the east coast the vistas were spectacular to see. The moment we pulled into the driveway of The Elk Cove Inn we felt comfortable. The view...

Honestly. The gourmet breakfast alone is worth the price of the room. Other highlights: comfortable bed, gas fireplace, comfy, oldfashioned armchairs in front of the fire. A cocktail hour. Gorgeous view from the hotel, though not from my room--but that gave me a reason to get up and out. I was there three nights on a personal retreat. Long walks...

One of those confounding mysteries... you encounter them in idyllic little towns across America, places like Carmel, Tahoe, Lancaster, or, in this particular case, Elk. A charming looking property located in paradise, with friendly in-keepers exuding hospitality, who generously feed you delicious, quality meals. They are very kind folks who seem to genuinely want you to be happy while you...

This Inn is a true hospitality experience in every sense of the word. The first thing that you obviously see is the location and the amazing views. Then you walk into this charming dining room and reception, warm, welcoming, hospitable and informative. Coffee and teas on tap all day. Little nibbles like tiny brownies or other goodies. Our room was...

We didn't stay at the Inn, but it looked fabulous. What we did do is eat at the restaurant connected to the Inn. It's leased to an amazing chef. The meal and the views out did each other. The Beef Bourguignon was authentic and mouth watering. Another "be sure not to miss" in Elk, California. Cheers!

This Inn is perfection itself. Beautiful, with stunning views, every comfort at your fingertips, superb breakfasts, welcoming innkeeper and attentive staff; there is nothing else to wish for. Our room faced the ocean, with two deep chairs next to the fireplace. It was a short walk down to the sand beach, a stroll to Elk up the beachfront path -...
