Everything is great, only thing is I wish they had more hot items for breakfast. It was very basic choices. Room was spacious and very clean. However, there is a train right next to hotel, but didn't really bother us at all.

Reserved here based on others reviews. Hotel was very clean and well kept, staff friendly and helpful. Parking was easy but costs $17/night. Wanted a bay view room but they were booked; however, the side facing Berkeley/Oakland was very good. Although there is an apt. building that faces the backside, it is a bit away, so that you can still take in much of the hillside and landmarks. We requested a room on the upper floors, which helped with the view. Grab and go breakfast was good, considering most items needed to be prepackaged. They had Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches and pre-made omelettes for their hot items and plenty of other regular breakfast items. Exercise room and pool were closed, but it's still pretty chilly in the area to be in the pool anyway. Our family of 5 fit fairly comfortably in the room. The beds are good; although the sofa bed mattress was okay (couldn't feel the springs), but it is depressed in the middle, so 2 people sleeping there would gravitate toward the middle. One thing I was surprised was not mentioned more in the reviews was that the Amtrak and freight trains runs on the backside of the hotel and it can be loud during the day and sometimes the night. Perhaps the bay facing rooms don't hear it as much, but I don't see how they couldn't since it's pretty noticeable. The hotel does their best to lessen the impact by providing a noise machine and earplugs. It didn't bother us, but it is something to keep in mind if you have people in your party that are sensitive to noise. On the flip side, it could be a perk if you have young children who love trains!

We were told there was easy access to Amtrak and that proved false. There was no shuttle (as we were told) and the elevator to the walkway was covered in urine and non functional. When I called the city they said they no longer serviced that elevator. We had to take an Uber to go around the block and it costs as $27 and we almost missed our train to Colorado because we were delayed so badly by the false information. The front desk was very nice and the hotel was clean but they were misinformed that that prevented me from making proper plans.

I felt like for how much I paid for the room I should’ve been on a higher floor. Every early morning I would her trains after trains and cars honking. Also since it was the 2nd floor I would have to close the blinds on the door at balcony and the windows the whole time, because pedestrians and drivers can see the entire room if they just glance at it. But overall the stay was okay, they staff was great expect for one morning a housekeeper knocked on the door so me and my guest responded that we were in the room and she proceeded to open the door and realized someone was inside and instantly closed the door. The good thing about the hotel room was that it was a suite, I was in a king suite and it wasn’t worth how much I paid for.
