Carved into the rugged coastline of British Columbia 250 nautical miles north of Vancouver, Legacy Lodge sits within the Great Bear Rainforest in the protected waters of Pendleton Bay at the mouth of the famed Rivers Inlet.

Legacy Lodge is more than world class fishing; it's about friends sharing the adventure of exploring North America's last wilderness, experiencing humpback and killer whales, dolphins, eagles and a night sky full of stars so bright they'll keep you awake!

Legacy Lodge was hand crafted on large floats from indigenous materials. The two story guest building includes 7 private guest rooms and 6 suites which nicely accommodates 20 guests. Legacy recently expanded with two additional guest buildings offering five additional suites, accommodating 10 guests. Guests enjoy spectacular views and deluxe accommodations with private baths and rooms appointed with luxurious linens. The lounge features a rustic bar with a fireplace seating and dining for 30 guests.

Legacy Lodge provides three distinct seasons of fishing. Traditional salmon fishing for Chinook and Coho salmon are available from July through September in calm, secluded waters throughout Rivers Inlet. Halibut, Yellow Eye and Lingcod are also plentiful in these waters all summer. Heli-fishing for huge northern Coho salmon (20 lbs. plus) within the pristine rivers of the BC coastline is available during September and October, and wild Steelhead fishing from helicopters are available during April and May.

Legacy Lodge offers exceptional fly fishing for Pacific salmon on the calm, protected waters of Rivers Inlet. The dense populations of Coho and Chinook in the waters surrounding Legacy Lodge are aggressive, and will take your fly..... and 200 feet of backing off your reel in seconds!

Known around the globe for its magnificent scenery and unparalled salmon fishing, the waters of Rivers Inlet teem with some of the largest Coho and Chinook Salmon in the world. In fact, more 50 to 60 pound Chinook salmon are caught in this fjord-like inlet each year than in any other area in British Columbia. Full of energy and fight, these salmon can battle for hours, over incredible distances.

Rivers Inlet lies within the Great Bear Rainforest, the planets last large expanses of coastal temperate rainforest. At 8+ million acres, it is 5 times the size of Banff National Park and represents one of the most diverse ecosystems on the planet. With an unmatched biological output of 500 tons per acre, it's 40 percent greater than tropical rain forests.

Legacy Lodge is more than an adventure, it's an experience. Nestled away from the madness, it's located in one of the most picturesque landscapes I've ever seen.

The crew are second to none. From the moment you land, they are ready to greet you with a smile and get you settled. They really make you feel welcome and are always happy to answer questions or help you with something, even if that's not their primary role. Most people have worked there for years, and it shows in how well organized they run the place.

Everything about the place is cozy. The rooms are modern but quaint. There's several sitting areas for taking a load off, having a drink, and meeting new people. The meals are always delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The best is receiving a hot breakfast and lunch out on the water. That's right, you just keep on fishing and they bring food right to your boat!

They have all the equipment you need, they supply it all. You have oil skins and survival gear to keep you warm and dry. The boats are fully equipped with everything you need from poles, fishing tackle, and lots of bait! The boats are easy to use, and have GPS tracking and fish finders to help you navigate around the best fishing spots. Don't forget the radio to stay in touch with the crew and other boats in case a particular spot gets hot! Keep your eye out for breaching humpbacks, an orca pod passing by, or eagles perched near by to watch over all the action.

When you make it back to the lodge, your catch is carefully prepared, packaged, and quick frozen for when you travel back home. Every night there's a delicious dinner awaiting after a long day out on the water. People unwind and talk over the events of the day, share expertise, and start planning for the next morning.

If you were ever on the fence, hop down, book your trip and prepare to buckle some rods!

I've gone numerous times and each is better than the last. Little too big changes, each makes the experience better and better. Even got great internet now so one can send photos home if you wish. Communication in the year leading to trip is excellent and helpful. Discounts and fish storage at the hotel pre/post trip and free shuttle are plusses. Flights up and back are fun and fantastic for views. Staff greets you and sends you off and gets to know you from minute one. From top chefs and food, to boat/dock crews, room service, to dining and lounge staff one feels known, pampered and fully accommodated. Rooms are superb. Lunch and breakfast snacks come out to your boat. Guides help you find where to fish and how to as well. Scenery and nature are all around from serene vistas from your room or dock, to whales jumping, deer swimming, and eagles diving. Fish are cleaned and vacuum packed better than ever for travel, even marked with 'date caught'.
The owner, Phil, is fully present, helpful, ethical and truly has built a Legacy with this lodge and experience. My cousin's fiancé came for the first time now and she can't wait to come back.
All I can say is it's the best fish camp and experience, I'll always return and I've been to 4 others; this is for real my go-to/5-star 'glamping'/fishing destination.

I have had the good fortune of multiple visits to Legacy Lodge and look forward to another trip in 2024. The entire experience is amazing. From the flight from Port Hardy to the Lodge (over the archipelago), to the incredible staff and service, to the exciting fishing.

The boats and gear are first class. Certainly not what I have found at other lodges. Great food. The floating lodge is in a beautiful, protected bay close to the fishing grounds, with different hot spots available based on the weather and where the fish are biting.

Most importantly, they offer hands-on guided fishing, but also if you are experienced, you can enjoy the independence of your own boat and day on the water. Lunch is delivered to your boat, and if you ever need more bait or replacement gear, they have it to you quickly. This gives you a full day on the water, from dawn until dinner.

Finally, Legacy Lodge prepares and packs your catch better than any lodge I know so you can ship your catch safely home and enjoy it for many months to come.

Phil and his team have created a fantastic fishing experience.

I totally love this place. I have been six times and limited out on salmon each time. The food, scenery and wildlife are worth the trip. The guides really know their stuff. All equipment and foul weather gear (often not needed) are supplied. The fish are processed frozen on the premises and can be canned or smoked and shipped to your home. The staff are the greatest anywhere. I always feel completely taken care of. I shall return!

Billed as a "fishing adventure of a lifetime," and it sure is! The attention to detail is evident everywhere, from the food, to the rooms, to the fishing gear and boats. The staff is amazing-- attending to every guest and every need. The guides share their expertise willingly and patiently. Every anglers maxed out with their catch, and the fish was processed, frozen and boxed for the trip home. The fishing was excellent and the scenery included humpback and orca wales, sea lions, eagles, and a sea otter. I felt blessed to be there, and plan to return next year.

Legacy Lodge exceeded our expectations! From the time we arrived, Phil and the staff made us feel so welcome! The accommodations were clean and spacious. All the special touches like hats for each of us to breakfast being brought out to us on the boat made us feel at home. Can’t say enough about the Chef! The Legacy Lodge is run like a well oiled ship, everyone helped everyone no matter what was happening. The staff were so incredible to watch as they were like a family that welcomed you in. Our guide was fantastic and showed us the ropes right off the bat, and we caught lots of fish! The wildlife was abundant and amazing to see so up close. From the plane ride in to being out on the water the B.C. coastline is a must see as is staying at Legacy Lodge!

Many of my family members have been coming here for years, and I went for the first time last month with them and I LOVED it. Phil runs a great lodge with comfortable rooms in a rustic style, great food, and a super wonderful staff. You have the ability to go out fishing with a guide when you want to or (once you've done that and learned the ropes) on your own. The boats and equipment all seemed to be in great condition and the scenery is just drop-dead gorgeous, even if there is fog. I had a blast learning how to fish, catching fish, and chilling at the lodge with the others. The size also felt just right - not too big or too small, and all of the staff were friendly and helpful no matter the occasion. I cannot wait to come back!

From the begin to the end the trip was fantastic. Starting our trip in Vancouver and flying to Port Hardy. Going on goose to the lodge. Landing on the water and seeing the beautiful BC shore line. Checking into the lodge was first class treatment. The rooms were very clean and made it very relaxing right away. First thing in the morning we were introduce to the staff and our fishing boat. Our boat and fishing equipment were in great shape. We took the guided tour to the fishing starting point. We drop our first line in and started get the next line ready. The first line didn't wait. Fish on. What a great day. River's Inlet fishing and beauty just can't be beat. Our trip was just full of fun, sun, learning the fishing knowledge from the staff to make this a trip for buck list.

My friend and I stayed at Legacy Lodge at the end of July 2023. We chose the 5 day stay. Just getting there is an adventure. Flying to rivers inlet in a float plane was just spectacular. The Lodge is in great shape and the staff, including the fishing guides, were top notch. We fished from 6:00am until 5:00pm every night. Then enjoyed cocktail hour and a great meal with new friends. Fishing was very good. We came home with limits of salmon and halibut. We are booked again for 2024!

My husband and his friend went last year and have booked again for this year. They got their quote from the owner (Phil) ... so I would suggest you contact Legacy Lodge for all the information you'll need including prices. It is expensive but according to my husband - totally worth it! An experience he'll never forget (it was a bucket list trip) - now he's going one more time!
