Loved staying here and using it as a base for Yosemite. The weather wasn't great but who cares when the scenery is this good.
The hotel is very grand, but still maintained a very relaxed feel. All staff were friendly and efficient. Loved it.

We had a great stay at Tenaya Lodge. Check-in was friendly, quick, efficient and informative. This is important to me, after traveling for 12 plus hours, all I want is to get into my room without hassles and delay. Lobby was exactly what you would want for your Visit to Yosemite. There was always a roaring fire going at the entrance and several more throughout, which gave it a warm lodge feel. The room was spacious and clean. Rustic decor for its mountain feel. Beds were comfortable and linens were soft. Bathroom water pressure was good and towels were thick. We received excellent value for our money. Breakfast was included with our stay as well as daily activities. We took advantage of it all, and they welcomed it. What made this hotel stand out was the young staffs and their willingness to help. Breakfast buffet was average/good and off the menu breakfast items were excellent. We had burgers, drinks and apps at the only open onsite restaurant Jackalopes on several occasions and although a bit pricey, the food was good and the convenience can’t be beat. We participated in both the evening and daytime walking tours and archery and they were a lot of fun and the guides were informative and friendly.

My only complaint was the paperthin walls. I could hear people talking and walking through the Corridors. They provide you with earplugs in the nightstand drawer.

It is not a five star resort, but that was not what we were looking for. It is an excellent, well run property with beautiful grounds. It more than met our needs for this particular trip. We look forward to someday coming back with our adult children and family.

We visited Tenaya Lodge shortly after Yosemite re-opened. The lodge is located immediately south of the Southern Entrance so its convenient to get to the National park in the morning.

The check in process was a little less than delight. I understand that extra precautions were taken during the COVID pandemic, but the experience falls short of expectation. The check in staff basically wipes everything after each guest check in, which was great but I happened to be assigned to a front desk staff that I assume was still in training.

We had a family of five so thought about requesting a larger room instead. Therefore, I checked the official site for vacancy and it showed that plenty rooms were still available. However, the check in staff mentioned that due to COVID, they’re not allowed to make any room changes and only operate at 25% capacity. Explanation accepted but not satisfied because the website still shows rooms available. After I get the keys to the room, the same staff explained to me that our room was in East wing and circled it on the premise map, but in fact the room was in the west wing so we had to drag our luggage around for another 20 minutes before we were able to the room.

The room is very well cleaned but almost all amenities removed to reduce touch surfaces. Again, understood but not satisfied. We have booked the premier room with two queen beds, just barely large enough for two adults and three kids. If the kids were a bit older, the extended room would probably be a better choice.

The property is beautifully surrounded by the forest. There are many facilities including an outdoor children’s adventure zone. Unfortunately, the only facility that was open was the restaurant. A bit disappointed but understood the situation. On the other hand, we can see how easily we can spend a few days here while the kids were enjoying themselves all around the property.

Room service is available but you have to pick up the food from the lobby, so it’s more of a take out service rather then room service as they call it. The food were actually very decent. We ordered the wings, the ribeye and the chicken peipei.

The overall experience is acceptable under the circumstances, but we can see that we would choose to return when all facilities are open in the future.

Just had a wonderful weekend stay here in August. I had read the prior reviews which some were rating it low, however, I had I guess COVID19/lower expectations, aware of the indoor swimming pool being closed, and all the outdoor hot tubs in addition to most of their amenities, like stargazing and ropes course, archery etc. However, it is a nice resort with an outdoor swimming pool and about 1 hour drive from the Valley and 1.5 hours away from Glacier point. It has fast wifi and decent cell service for Verizon. They don't offer daily housekeeping which is the norm for COVID19, would have declined it even if they had offered it. The breakfast and dinners that we had although limited menu, were tasty. Wish they had several more hand sanitizing stations, like within the guest room hallway, after opening door, would be nice to have a sanitizing station there as on the main floors next to elevators. also as they are operating at 50% capacity, did not feel super crowded with other guests in the halls, although at time the pool was quite busy during the day. We will be staying again! I would recommend bringing extra trash bags that way you can leave the extra trash outside the door/ easier for us, as we chose to pick up the food and eat in our room rather than dining on the outside dining which many families preferred to do.

Save your money...Upon check-in we waited 45 minutes to check-in, they only had one person working the front desk with a line going out the door. We booked the new stand alone premium cabin and it looked like we were staying in a FEMA Trailer. They are pr-fab trailers that are long and narrow surrounded by no landscaping only wood chips. We were told we would have a river view cabin which we did not and we could not even find the "river". Maybe there was a stream somewhere which we never found. The cabins have kitchens however they don't stock it, all cupboards were empty, not even a spoon, paper towels, dish towels coffee cup...nothing! We paid to have our dog with us which was $100 and were told they would provide a bowl, the use of a dog bed, treats, baggies and a toy; we were given nothing! Complete lie! Where we had to park was far from our cabin and no help was given to get our bags to our room. They don't even provide carts to make it easier for you. To get ice we had to drive back to the resort, the premium cabins are a 15 minute walk from the actually resort so the ice would have melted. They offer no bellman services. The only way to get to your deck is to walk through the master bedroom and it only has room for two chairs so if you are a party of 4 in the 2 bedroom good luck.
To say we were disappointment us an understatement! We travel a lot and this place is definitely not worth $1,000 per night!

Let me start by saying tenaya keeps sending me emails to review, but their emails are based on types of question of how many times we vacation and what types of resorts we choose. Nothing on what we thought of their resort. My family and I stayed there for 5 days. First, if you can stay in the valley, do so! It’s about an hour to an hour and a half to really see Yosemite from tenaya lodge. The hotel itself is clean as far as sleeping in the rooms. They do offer washer machines and dryers for a small fee, but do laundry in the morning if you need bc you won’t get a machine in the evening. Housekeeping does not come to the room, so our trash from our daily hikes with a family of 5 would overflow. The garbage cans around the property were full every morning and every evening. I struggled finding a place to empty our trash everyday! Each time my family would try to use the hand sanitizer at multiple stations, it was always empty. A lodge of this sort would do wonderful with a buffet for breakfast, but that’s not offered. They have a place to order a small breakfast to go or their restaurant, but you have to wait to order and receive the meals. They offer a barbecue but it’s $40 per person and is totally overpriced! Food was cold and I promise you, we all do a better bbq at home.
Summing it all up…there are other places to choose, choose the other place! Not worth the money we paid.

This resort is not ready to be open. Just one restaurant open with limited menu (ate there 3 nights & very ordinary for exorbitant price) or grab & go option. No food available between 10-12 at all! Pool bar closed. All amenities closed except for bikes - but they charge $15 an hour for these despite charging the daily $30 amenities fee for nothing. Concierge is closed. Extremely understaffed - long waits at front desk & grab & go. They are not doing room charge so have to pay for everything with credit card. Ice & drink machines closed. Firepits & hot tubs closed. Both drains in our room drained very slowly. Staff were nice but incompetent. We wonder what the resort is usually like but certainly not now worth the $500 plus per night for a basic room, especially when it's so isolated from anywhere else.

We chose Tenaya Lodge for our first visit to Yosemite. There were some hiccups along the way, staff seemed disorganized and mistakes were made with bookings and reservations, but they did make every mistake right and even took some off the bill for any inconvenience. They receive a 4 star because of the cleanliness in the room, it was obvious that no one looked at it before it was assigned to us. The toilet bowl had not been recently cleaned and had a fine layer of mold covering it, the toilet did not flush well either. There is no housekeeping service due to Covid, which is fine except they do not leave enough supplies to keep you from having to call for various things like extra coffee pods. They also do not leave drinking glasses except for coffee cups in the room or ice buckets. Very inconvenient if you want to have coffee and also need just water at any time. Other than being considered about cleanliness of the room we had a great time and staff gave great service.

You can't beat the location. Yosemite is breathtaking, and the proximity to the park entrance is superb!
However, we stayed in a cabin, and for $800 a night, you just expect a little more. The cabin is technically 2 bedrooms....but one of the bedroom doors is blocked by the bed, so it must remain wide open. Thank God we didn't bring any friends. That would've been awkward.
The bathroom didn't have a bathtub, just a shower, and after hiking all day, all I wanted was a warm soak in the tub. Alas, that wouldn't happen. And the shower water pressure was so weak, I couldn't get the shampoo out of my hair.
Despite the extremely high cost of staying In a cabin, the plates and flatware were all plastic/Styrofoam, room service does not deliver to your room, there is no housekeeping, and the clubhouse for the cabins has been closed down, so if you need something to eat or drink, or you have forgotten something, you need to hop in your car and drive up to the main lodge.
I got a massage at the spa, and was so excited about using the amenities beforehand, especially since we didn't have a bathtub or working shower in our cabin! Only to find out that the steam room wasn't working, and there was NO HOT WATER in the locker rooms. Comically, I soaped up before jumping in the shower, and only then did I find out there was no hot water. I had no choice but to jump in the freezing cold shower, and run stark naked and soaking wet to the sauna to try to warm my bones! When I told the staff, it turns out they knew the hot water wasn't working, and didn't bother saying anything. I wonder what they thought I was going to do in the locker room for an hour before my treatment.
Two thumbs up though to Steven for an excellent massage. That was money well spent.
For the amount of money my husband and I spent, we could have really stayed at a great resort that included a bathtub, water pressure, a spa with hot water, housekeeping, and room service.
Despite all that, we are happy to have gotten away to explore beautiful Yosemite.

I can tell this is an amazing place to stay under normal circumstances but in June 2021 there were still limited services due to COVID which made our stay very good, but not excellent. There is no housekeeping, so you have to ask for more towels at the front desk (and sometimes the line to the front desk is 15+ minutes). They normally have several options for food, but right now there is limited food options. You can order "room service" but have to pick it up in the lobby. Pools are open and nice. There is an "amenity fee" of $25/night charged but one of the things we were supposed to be able to get with that were S'mores kits but they didn't have any the 2 nights we were there. The fee also lists "rest assured" kit but we didn't get anything at check-in related to that (but we didn't ask). In all, it felt like they were short staffed and only offering limited dining/amenities at this time. Rooms were nice but you could hear people walking above you (or in our case, kids running back and forth). The room does have a "fan only" option to help drown out noise.

It took us 2 hours to get from the Valley to Tenaya on July 8. During some of the worst of the fire. I would hope you'd be able to get there directly (around an hour, depending on traffic) by the time you get there. Keep checking! It really helps to get out as early as possible. We left Tenaya at 6am and were ahead of the traffic throughout the day. Tenaya is a wonderful place to stay!!
