The Hyatt Regency Orange County garners mixed reviews, with many guests appreciating the family-friendly atmosphere and the convenient shuttle service to Disneyland. Onsite amenities like Starbucks are a hit, and the welcoming staff often receives commendations for their service. However, some visitors find the additional fees and dated decor less appealing.
While cleanliness is generally praised, noise levels due to thin walls can detract from the experience. Rooms are recognized as spacious but may show signs of needing an update.

Family friendly hotel and pet friendly! Check in was at 4 pm so I stayed in my son’s room til then and went down to the front desk and there was no line and I was offered a free upgrade to a king suite in the North Tower! That was great news as we were in the same tower as our son and his family. The suite was spacious with plenty of closet and drawer space, a living room with small sofa, bottled water at $4 a piece, bath/shower combo, towel rack, microwave and refrigerator, coffee/tea maker, ironing board and iron, extra blankets, safe, everything you need.
We didn’t use the bottled water as we brought empty water bottles to fill at the hotel water dispensing machines located neR the ice maker on each floor and in the lobby near the North Tower.
The fitness center had towels, earphones, sanitary wipes, machines, free weights, balls, stability and bosu ball so I felt at home.
All in all a comfortable stay in the hotel as the staff is friendly.

We had a two night stay here at the end of a long trip in the USA. The purpose of staying in this hotel was to facilitate a trip to Disneyland. The hotel is lovely - very clean and staff are so helpful and friendly. The shuttle bus is $6 each per day and takes you straight to the security gates for the Disney parks. It is less than a 10 minute drive on the shuttle and they are very regular.
The room was huge! It was a King Suite (we booked a package holiday and didn't realise it was a suite!) and had three rooms - bedroom, lounge area and bathroom. We overlooked the car park and were in the wrong position for fireworks from Disney but we could hear them.
Everything worked as it should in the room and we couldn't fault it. The only issue was that housekeeping didn't clean our room when we were expecting them to. You can choose for your room not to be cleaned (but we didn't) so were disappointed that this was the only hotel out of the four we stayed in on this trip that did not clean the room.
Apart from that, we cannot fault this hotel! Loved it - and would recommend to others, especially for Disney!

We planned a spring break trip to Southern California with the purpose of visiting both Disneyland and other area attractions. Prior to Covid, we have always stayed at the Grand Californian hotel. Prices have skyrocketed since our last visit in 2018 and we had 3 teenagers on this trip, so having two bathrooms was a huge priority for me.
After hours of research, I came upon the two bedroom, two bath suite at the Hyatt Regency Orange County. We realized we wouldn't be an easy walking distance from the park, but thought the size of the unit would make up for it.
We had the best stay and the property was amazing! Our suite was huge with a large living area separating the two bedrooms. Small fridge, microwave in the room, comfy beds and daily maid service made this room such a great value.
The property has two pools, an outdoor rec area, a lobby Starbucks and a delicious onsite restaurant that is open until midnight. They offer a shuttle every 30 minutes to Disney for $6 per person. With 5 in our group we opted for an Uber XL each day which picked up right in front of the hotel and was $12 each way.
Every employee we encountered was friendly and a huge shout out to Justin at the front desk for his warm welcome upon our easy check in.
We also visited Huntington Beach and downtown LA for a clippers game. I loved this clean, comfy, convenient hotel and will make it our home base for all future Disney trips!

Great location, especially if you're going to spend many days visiting Disney. It was also pretty well maintained even if it is an old hotel. The only thing is that bottled water was not free. It's a basic amenity for most reputable hotels so it was disappointing that they had to charge.

Jasmine at the front desk was amazing—she totally exceeded my expectations and seemed to know exactly what we needed. When she asked who I was traveling with, I mentioned that my husband, son, and I were completely wiped out from Disneyland. Next thing I know, she surprises us with an upgrade to a two-bedroom suite with bunk beds—even for an Explorist like me!
To top it off, the room had a microwave, which is usually a $10/night charge at Hyatt Regency properties. The space was super roomy, and we had the best sleep ever! We've stayed here before, and it never disappoints—the staff is always so responsive and accommodating.
Highly recommend staying here, especially if you're visiting Disneyland!

Stayed at the Hyatt to attend a conference. As soon as we entered the Hyatt, the lobby was bright and inviting. I walked over to the check out counter and Emily greeted me with a huge smile. She was friendly and extremely helpful. I wanted to stay near my co worker who had upgraded his room. She told me I could also up grade my room at a discounted price they were offering. I was excited to know that I could upgrade my room to a King Suite, which I have never stayed in before, for a low price. I jumped on the opportunity and was not disappointed. The king suite that Emily booked me in was enormous, I felt like a celebrity. The King Suite was on the corner of the building so I had 2 huge windows an enormous living space that you could do Yoga in, a clean and spacious bathroom,, etc.. I was blown away by the large and comfortable room. The hospitality and attentiveness from all of the staff members especially James in Valet was exceptional. If you want a clean, friendly, above and beyond customer service experience, than I would highly recommend the Hyatt Regency in Garden Grove.

Staff at the front desk were friendly and professional. Housekeeping staff were quick to provide additional items to make our stay more comfortable. Food and drinks at the two restaurants was well prepared and delicious. Rooms are clean and many remodeled. The pool was at a good temperature but could have been a bit cleaner, I pulled out two small plastic bags from the water and it did have some small debris particles floating in it, perhaps the filter needs to be replaced. The hallway noise is a little loud and can be heard easily from the room, needs some sound proofing. Overall it was a pleasant stay that was pleasing to me and my family. I would definitely stay here again as well as recommend it to our friends and family.

Great hotel, great staff who are extremely helpful, kind and considerate. Convenient shuttle service to Disney for a reasonable cost and good timings, and the fact it drops you close to the entrance to the parks is great. Hotel offers a very convenient and quick response “text service” on which you can contact them for any questions or requests you have. Rooms spacious and well appointed and clean. Wouldn’t hesitate to come back and stay here again. Our return flight to the UK was cancelled which meant we needed to stay in the US for another two nights and even though the hotel was at full capacity they managed to extend our stay in the same room until our rescheduled flight. Great service.

We arrived in December for 9 nights fir a stay over Christmas. We area. Famiky of three and atayed in the kids suite. Upon arrival we were upgraded to a two bedroom suite by Miss Sanchez. The room was huge! Two bathrooms, two bedrooms and a living room area. The rooms were spotless and very clean. The beds were very comfortable. Room had a safe, microwave, coffee machine and all the bathroom essentials. The tv had loads of channels for movies and premier league football! The room decor was a little tired with a few cracks and love needed but this didn’t spoil anything. We loved it. We used the ground level pool and hot tub which had pool towels available. The hot tub was lovely and warm! We also used the level 3 sports deck for paddle board tennis, table tennis, shuffle board and basketball. We also used the firepits for marshmallows on Christmas night. It was amazing
The breakfast we had one day and was brilliant quality. Everyone catered for. There is also starbucks in the lovby for a quick bite and coffee. We used the self parking every day which was wasy and very handy. There is a shuttle that runs regularly to disney for $6 return but if theres 3 or more of you , id recommend uber. Cost us between $7 and $10 eqch way and was very convenient and quick
Overall i couldn’t recommend this place more. Its our second trip hete 10 years apart and its a great spot dor Disney and base for exploring LA

Hyatt Regency is a great place to stay if you're looking to be close to Disneyland, shopping, grocery stores, and restaurants. This hotel was easily a Top 5 hotel stay for me as it was easy and close to Disneyland. The shuttle service is timely and cost $6 per day - runs late as well. You have to use a QR code that is posted in the hotel to pay but can expect an easy ride to Disneyland and drop off right at the security gate. Make sure you know exactly when the shuttle driver is taking a break for lunch or dinner, it is posted in the shuttle. Hotel had great breakfast and the service was quick and friendly.

It's usually quiet on higher floors, unless they have a huge conference going on. Like the dance one we recently experienced! Whole hotel was noisy and crowded and the music was super loud.
The beds are okay, but ask for a couple of firm pillows as the other ones flatten like a pancake! We usually stay here, but the last few times we have experienced awful customer service and the water pipes are old as we also experienced a major water leak from the ceiling of our suite.
There are more places to choose from in the Garden Grove area.
