I felt like I had stepped back in time when I first entered the American River Inn! We were greeted by Maria and her husband Will with a friendly smile and we felt very welcomed! The atmosphere in the B&B is Victorian and full of antiques in every room. Be prepared to share each others company as most of the...

The upside is that this is a renovated historic inn with lots of atmosphere. The rooms, bathrooms, and inn in general were spotless. There was a wonderful spread of hors d'oeuvres at about 5:00pm the day we checked in. The breakfast was home cooked and excellent. The inn keepers (Will and Maria) are delightful and take pride in their Inn....

We stayed three nights before conquering the 63rd Jeepers Jamboree Rubicon Trail adventure. The hotel was a classic historic B&B. The owners made our stay even more enjoyable with their stories, cooking & serving a great breakfast and fun afternoon offering of wine & cheese. The room was clean with beautiful antiques. We were hoping for an encounter with its...

The American River Inn is a historical inn in the middle of Georgetown. This inn has all the classic amenities and appointments of a traditional B&B. We didn't get a chance to enjoy the wine hour but it takes place between 5:30 and 7. Breakfast was good- filling, nicely prepared and served with lots of hospitality. The bed was a...

This was our first experience in a bed and breakfast. We had a very nicely decorated, comfortable room. The historical hotel is tastefully decorated in time period decor. The hostess was very helpful and knowledgeable. They had a wine and hors d'oeuvres time in the evening and a wonderful breakfast in the morning. The beds were comfortable and the whole...

This stay was the second of a 2 night trip to Georgetown. Located in a quiet and comfortable little town, it was quite the place to shoot photos and ghost hunt. The Hotel itself was furnished beautifully. The staff was very friendly and it include a delicious little breakfast. Even though I didn't feel or record any spiritual moments, it...

Its an enchanting place with really cool history.. But, unfortunately, the substitute hostess is very inhospitable. Maybe try to go when the owners are in? Cute downstairs and authentic furnished suites. Just bad customer service, I'm sad to say. As soon as I talked to her I wish that I hadn't. But aside from this, I can make no complaint.

We stayed at The Historical River Inn this summer and unfortunately had terrible customer service. It is a beautiful home and we could have really enjoyed our stay, but unfortunately dealing with the hostess (owners out of town) made it unbearable. She was extremely rude. It was like staying at someone's home who invited you, but really didn't want you...

My wife and I stayed there back in 1980 or so, don't know the exact year but it was really wonderful to stay there. We were doing a photography assignment for college that required us to take photos at night without using a flash. I set my camera up on a tripod and took a picture of the front of...

Came to Georgetown for a planned day of wine tasting in the surrounding area. The American River Inn is probably the most attractive building in this sleepy old mining town of about 1100 pop. Looking at all of the antiques which include all of the furnishings, you are taken back in time to the period which this Inn represents. The...
