Detailed Reviews
We were supposed to be here two nights but DH got a cold so I asked if we could check out the next morning and get a refund for 1 night. They were very accommodating and said yes. The refund for 1 night was posted within two days.
The room was clean. The bed was fine. As others have said, the refrigerator cycled on and off durning the night. DH said he heard it but I didn't hear it. I think if you turned the temperature all the way down in the fridge that would help.
It was disconcerting that I saw a smoke detector sitting outside the room across from us. When I checked ours it looked like it might fall off the ceiling anytime (room 239).
For the price in Santa Barbara this was a good value.
The description of grab and go breakfast is accurate, packaged sweet rolls and coffee.

I made reservations for my immediate family and for my parents. I made a reservation for a king suite with sofa sleeper and a double accessible room for my parents. Upon check-in my room was correct but my parents was not, even though I called the hotel the day before to verify. The manager Cindy apologized and said she did not have any other rooms for the night, but would have something the next night. She told us to look at the room and see if it was okay. We did. The tub was low, so my parents could get in and out without much effort or fear of falling. However, the main reason I booked an accessible room was for the shower chair. Both my parents have mobility issues and cannot stand without a cane or something to help them for extended periods of time. My dad asked for a coffee pot and Cindy promptly brought one up with cups and coffee and cream and sugar and was kind enough to show my dad how to use it. After she did that I told her the room was fine and asked if there was a shower chair around my mom could use. That would be the only other thing they would need. She said no, but noticed the cane my mom had. She offered to go to the local drug store and purchase one. Just as my mom was being a doubtful Debbie, there was a knock on the door and it is an employee holding a shower chair for my mom. I am not sure what happened to my parents reservation and do not know why it was changed. What I do know is that Cindy went out of her way to help my parents and get them what they needed to be comfortable in shower and it was greatly appreciated by myself and my parents.

Unlike many hotels, this Extended Stay only provides housekeeping once a week, so we did not receive any during our six day stay. It was not a problem as we were able to pick up extra soap and shampoo at the front desk. We also picked up dishes there as all the cupboards were bare when we checked in. Surprisingly, the set of dishes did not include coffee mugs, nor was there a coffee maker in the room. We could have requested one, but as coffee was available in the lobby, we didn't bother. We enjoyed our stay, and found the staff to be helpful, which was a good thing as we needed their help to get the room amenities up to par.

Hotel's Favourite
Very satisfied with the room, amenities and staff (front desk), who are very helpful, friendly and considerate. The property is quiet and well maintained. Easy on/off the 101. It is not a “suite” with separate bedroom – it’s like a typical motel room; except the cleaning/linens are not done daily. It has a well-functioning kitchen. You need to get the utensils, dishes, etc. by request after arrival, which no surprise (maybe request they put them there before arrival?) ). The the rates are reasonable for Santa Barbara, being the second least expensive in Santa Barbara/Goleta. (but I don’t do Motel 5 +1) Close to gas stations, Starbucks, In N Out Burgers and ½ mile from small strip shopping with Vons super market, coffee house with food, and shops; plus Cody's Restaurant (has a nice outdoor patio – rated $$ - $$$ AmericanCafe). There’s many 5 star ratings that provide more positive insights, and with whom I agree. The 1 star ratings possibly happened, but I doubt the compaints are valid. We experienced none of that nonsense; there’s always some complainers.

I stayed here a couple months ago with my husband and had a great time! Santa Barbara is crazy expensive but compared to the other hotels we looked at it was the cheapest, and it's located right in the middle of town so you're close to everything. Didn't spend a lot of time in the room, but it was nice and clean when we checked in, and the shower wasn't too bad. Check-in was very easy, Sam and Will (I think those were their names) seemed like they knew what they were doing and I was in and out very efficiently. Would definitely come back, nice place.

+1
The rooms are filthy. The linens and towels they supply are old, stained and have nasty black hairs in them. Many holes in the sheets and the towels were shredding. The fan in the room was crooked and looked like it was falling apart. There was dirt and grime on every surface. The maids do a horrible job. The manager is a rude and discriminating witch. She yelled at my son with a disability. Very unprofessional. She should not be working in the hospitality industry. When I complained about the room, she tried to blame it on me. I will never stay at this location again. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

Please accept our sincere apologies for the disappointing stay you had, and we regret the unpleasant service you received from one of our associates. We have taken note of your feedback and have shared it with the appropriate individual to make sure we deliver a better service going forward ensuring this is not repeated in the future. Moreover, we are sorry your room was not in a spotless condition as it should have been. Our housekeeping staff takes pride in what they do daily and we also have processes in place to double-check each suite prior to occupancy by the next guest. We fell short in our processes and are reviewing them so we can avoid this from happening again. We hope you will give us an opportunity to redeem ourselves in the future. Sincerely, Hotel Management

Needed room close to Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara CA. This one has kitchenette, full fridge, microwave, stove, kitchen utensils on request, even a toaster if you need. Free parking. 10 min. drive from anywhere in Santa Barbara. Clean. Comfortable bed. Free WiFi. Best of all, wonderful staff, especially Sara. Very friendly and helpful. What's not to like? The grab and go breakfast is just that. Small muffins, granola bars, and coffee. Good luck to you!

Staying at Extended Stay and I am very satisfied with my room, and that there is a kitchen and they allow dogs. Some of the rooms are dated, but everything is functional. My room is spacious, great tv, kitchen has plenty of storage space, towels and sheets are clean, full size refrigerator. Check in was easy and Cindy has made sure that I am comfortable and happy here! Great rates compared to any other hotels in the area.

This Extended Stay was great! With a welcoming staff, friendly customers and great rooms I was very lucky to stay here. I was even allowed to one up and get a better room on account of how full things were, and no need for a transfer. Extended Stay America continues to be one of the very best and this one especially good. Thank you again!!!
