I recently spent a night at the Marriott Courtyard in Goleta, CA. I highly recommend staying there because the staff is competent and provides excellent service. The facility is super clean and the “courtyard” within is very inviting. I enjoyed dining outside.

I arrived at the hotel after a 5 hour drive and was tired. Eddie, the front desk person, was enthusiastic and accommodating. He was expecting me and made the check in process quick and seamless, which is not always the case at hotels these days. He checked all the boxes for a Marriott elite check in and more. Thanks Eddie!

The room was very clean but didn’t have a disinfectant chemical smell. Everything in the room worked as it should which, again, is not always the case at hotels these days. (The AC, lights in the room, or shower hot water, did not work properly at other Marriott properties I stayed at this year.) As a frequent traveler, my experience at a hotel is marred if I need to call the front desk or even change rooms because the room type is wrong or if a room feature doesn’t work. At the Goleta Courtyard, everything was right.

Metrah provided excellent service at the Bistro. Rather than simply taking food orders and bringing them out, she truly served me as well as other customers who were there. (Isn’t that what the hospitality industry is supposed to do?) When I asked her to ice the complimentary sparkling wine from the hotel, she responded positively and gave me my own mini ice bucket! A nice touch. For my dinner she proactively asked “Did you want me to toss the salad before serving?”. I’ve stayed at plenty of places where a request is met with a frown and grudging service. The staff at the Goleta Courtyard seem to give you more service rather than wait for you to request something.

I’ve stayed at this property pre-pandemic and once during the pandemic. The service and quality of the hotel has been consistently very good to excellent. I want to commend the management and staff on a job well done. I highly recommend staying at this property if you are in the Santa Barbara area.

I was there overnight since my flight was cancelled. The hotel was clean and the afternoon staff was friendly. I was told that there was a shuttle so i reserved the room only to be told that the shuttle isn't operating at this time, so i had to rent a car. I checked out the next day after we're told the complimentary breakfast is apple and juice...so we went outside and bought breakfast. A day later my card is charged $10 for parking and told this is our standard process which i wasn't told when i reserved the room or when checking in. At 255 a night wouldn't you at least provide parking? how does one go there if you don't offer a shuttle or have a car and you still want to charge for parking? why would you charge for this when you're charging a premium for a room? I wouldn't stay again especially for this price...

We had a pleasant one night stay The front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast folks offered a custom box filled with fruit, muffin, yogurt, bar, and a hot sandwich. They allowed you to pick what you wanted and also offered coffee, tea, OJ and water.

CON: The Internet connection for TV services was poor. We tried to watch a Showtime movie and found it very frustrating and finally gave up. WiFi was no issue.

We showed up a few minutes past 2:30 PM and were told in no uncertain terms could we check in before "official" check in time of 3 PM and that our room wasn't ready. I asked what room had been assigned to us since I wanted to make sure it wasn't too close to an elevator. She said it hadn't been assigned yet. So how did she know it wasn't ready? Seemed to get things off on the wrong foot.

Morning COVID-19 breakfast box was a joke - I could only eat the banana. Sugary cinnamon roll made for kids needed to be heated up (with what?? No microwave in lobby or in room). Bring your own breakfast food! And when I asked for tea, they seemed put out, then gave me a tea bag. I waited patiently. Then I asked for hot water. Again, they seemed put out, and said "well, I'll have to go get you some". Hello??? How do you drink tea without hot water???

Only nice thing was the room, but it was the smallest on the floor. I felt that being Marriott Bonvoy members, we were not treated well, unlike Hyatt, Hilton, Sheraton, etc. who DO treat their loyalty members better than we were. They charge $10/day for parking - huh? Folio said "garage parking". There is NO garage. It's just an outdoor parking lot next to a soccer field and fire station.

The ONLY reason we would go back is that our family is nearby, and this is the closest hotel. Too bad, as the hotel seems pretty nice; the service is just abysmal.

I was driving up from San Diego home to nor cal and wanted to stay in Santa Barbara area for a night to break up my trip. I cannot believe that this property is a Category 6 , one category below the Ritz!! Whaaaaat!! I didn't pay much attention when I booked it last minute, and it was 50,000 points. The Ritz is 60,000 points. I don't know how this can be rated in such a high category. It is not a luxury hotel. the rooms are standard Courtyard, nothing special, category 3 at best, not high quality linens, no bath robe, lower than average showers and no bath tub. These should be found in a Category 6 hotel. And the staff is basically pitiful. When I walked in, two reps were at the desk chatting, they just looked at me, didn't greet me at all. I said I was checking in, the woman pointed to the man and said , he will take care of you. Then they chatted some more before even helping me. I am Titanium Elite and they gave me a room with a parking lot view by an exit. I don't know why I couldn't get a room upstairs or by the courtyard, it looked like there were only about 20 cars in the parking lot so I don't think they were fully booked!!! I am not sure why parking is $10, usually it is complimentary when parking surrounds the hotel. Truly a disappointment. I didn't complain as I was only staying there one night.

Incredibly disappointing!
Disgusting place. Stayed here 3 nights for event at conference center. They came in every night to draw my blinds but never once did they pick up trash or dirty towels from the bathroom floor or refresh my cofee/ tea.
Ligting in room horrible. Impossible to put on makeup due to deep depth of bathrrom counter. Can't thry spend 20 buckk on a make up moiror?
Pubes in the shower
Really substandard facility. Everyone att conference agreed.
Plus desk staff told me it was 5 minute walk to convention center when it was really 15. Dif not feel very safe in neighborhood.

I wish they would have put a note on the Marriott website for this location stating that there was extensive construction going on at the property. I was traveling for work and during a conference call and the people on the call could hear all the construction noise. It made it very difficult to get work done. The location wasn't so great, there are hotels in better locations.

We arrived at this newly renovated hotel to check in early. We did not expect to get a room right away but just wanted to let them know we were in town. We arrived around noon after driving 6 hours. We were told that we could not check in early and had to come back at 3 pm. We asked if we could leave our cell number and they can contact when the room was ready and they said “no”. So we came back at 3 pm to check in. The person we had checking us in was new and was having trouble. While checking in the person next to us was able to check in 3 people as a result we kept losing our place in the system per front desk. So when we got there at 3 pm our room was not available we had to wait until 5 pm. Seriously a flawed system for checking in because we had an inexperienced check person. They did give us $10 to spend at the marketplace and free parking. But I won’t stay there again which is a bummer as I will be visiting Goleta about 6 times a year. The pros of the place newly renovated. High ceilings in the rooms even 1st floor rooms. Very close to UCSB. Cons: no included breakfast. There is still a lot of construction and our room was the last room before the construction so very noisy at 8 am. There is a parking charge of $10 a night.

First, the hotel is too expensive for what it offers. Second, it only provides room service every four days. We stayed three days and had to beg for clean towels and coffee pods. Third, they charge $10 for "garage" parking but there is no garage just an asphalt lot. Fourth, for breakfast you have to stand in line like you are at a UN refugee camp for a box that contains a muffin, an apple, and water. You are better off checking in at the Hilton Garden Inn just up the street.

Titanium Elite Lifetime member. Flagrantly charged me for a water after offering a $10 beverage credit. Hotel charges $10 for parking when they own their own property. They are now a 60,000 point night stay??? Excuse me, they are not a RITZ Carlton, they’re a Courtyard!!! Very rude young lady at check in. Smart ass young man. After hearing the conversation between me and the rude lady at check in he smarts off with a sarcastic “have a nice day”. Will not come back. I have traveled on the road for 45 years and very few times have I ever encountered such rude people. Even treated nicer at Holiday Inn Express and Hampton Inns. No reason for their rudeness.

Good Afternoon, We recommend a second floor room since there would be no one abov you. Although we don't have issues with noise on first floor rooms. After you book your reservation, you can call the hotel directly and we can make a note on your reservation that yu are looking for a quieter. room.
