We were impressed with the quality of the room as well as the friendly staff and really enjoyed our stay. It's only a short walk into town for dinner and a bit of nightlife. Breakfast in town and a little antique shopping after. Still, the nicest part of the stay had to be our spacious room at the inn :).

The Sierra Mountain Inn is one of those rare places that you fall in love with the first time you visit. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the staff treats you like part of your family. If you’re planning a trip anywhere near Nevada City or Grass Valley I highly recommend staying here.

We booked a room at the Sierra Mountain Inn for 3 nights. Upon our arrival, we were upgraded to a larger room. The rooms are immaculate! We did not find one tiny cobweb or speck of dust anywhere. We walked to town every day for breakfast and enjoyed viewing the historic homes in the area. The walk back helped us...

We stayed at Sierra Mountain Inn for a long weekend getaway with our 2 dogs. We booked Room No. 11 but was upgraded to Room No. 9. No. 9 is quiet and spacious with an additional bedroom (that we used as a walk in closet). The room has been renovated with a nice large marbled bathroom. The bed is comfortable...

Reception was very good, but the place was so quiet I think we were the only guests. The room was spotless and very quiet and comfortable. The hotel is a bit out of town but not far enough to warrant a taxi.

Didn't love the Sierra Mountain Inn. Room was nice and clean but the lady who checked us in announced to my surprise, "I'm not cleaning. Just let me know if you need anything." There was a door sign in the room for housekeeping services so it seemed like the cleaning moratorium was a whim rather than a change in policy....

A simple misunderstanding led to this blemish on our record. We respect our guest's privacy and clean the rooms only when they want it cleaned, on their time, not ours. So when a guest checks in, we explain to them to put the maid sign out when they're ready for us to clean their room and if they don't put...

The room we stayed in was small but the queen sized bed was comfortable. It was clean and nicely decorated. Two wine glasses on a table with chocolates. Granola Bars on the coffee cups. Very nice tiled bathroom with blow dryer. Walking distance from The Center of The Arts and Tofanelli's Restaurant. It is worth a repeat visit.

We went to Grass Valley to visit with some friends and had a great stay at the Sierra Mountain Inn. It was an easy walk into town with some very cute shops and wineries and wine tastings. Our room, number 8, was a good size, had a very nicely stocked kitchenette with wineglasses, opener, glasses, plates, bowls and silverware. The...

My husband and I wanted to get away for a few days and decided to check out the Grass Valley/Nevada City area. Because of the reviews here, we decided on Sierra Mountain Inn. We weren't disappointed! Our room (#10) was a 1 bedroom suite located towards the back of the property looking out into open space -- so, it was...
