I want to say thank you for this "farytail" week i passed in your Lodge. Skiing at it's best, so familiary staff, professional service, top accomodation... what do you wish more as happy moments with so lovely people. Absolutely great vacation and all the lovely "Bear Claw Familiy" made it possible. Thank you for all the unforgetable moments - it was just great!!! xou made me addicted!!
We recently had our wedding at the Bear Claw Lodge in the Kispiox Valley and it was nothing short of incredible. The scenery is breathtaking, the lodge is exceptional, and the Allen's always make everyone feel so welcome and like part of the family. If you are thinking of booking a trip here whether it be for a family vacation, a couples retreat, or just a reason to getaway; do it, you will not be disappointed.
This little lodge overlooking the Kispiox River is surrounded by natural beauty. With only 8 guestrooms, service is indeed individual. The friendly and courteous staff greeted us by name, noted our preferences and catered to our needs. Gourmet food was prepared with food sensitivities in mind, and tastefully presented. We were fly fishing, but others were kayaking, horseback riding, and hiking. A kids camp is offered several times each summer with training ranging from water rescue to bread baking to proposing toasts. We were impressed with the people and the place.
Outstanding experience! We went on a retreat and the people, food, wine, activities, accommodation and scenery total-up to the best experience we have ever had while on retreat. We did kayaking, river floating, horseback riding, lake canoeing, archery tag, yoga, axe throwing, massages, hot tubbing and bonfires every night. It was bliss and a 10 out of 10, and I highly recommend to anyone. Wow!
I have had the pleasure of spending 8 days at Bear Claw, and with the amazing people who work with and around this crew, for 2 different retreats in the past 13 months. I can say unequivocally this is the finest group of people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting as Lodge and hospitality operators. Forget the fact that Bear Claw is smack in the middle of one of the most spectacular parts of the planet, and that they are gifted with incredible natural resources; they have an uncanny ability to know exactly what our group needs, and what each individual needs, in order to deliver an incredible experiance for all. I trust them implicitly and will absolutely be back! PS: the food is the best ever😍 and the beds and rooms are a little but of heaven!
This Lodge is Fantastic I came on my own as I wanted to fish with a guide on great Rivers like the Kispiox, Skeena and the Bulkley I learnt a lot from the professional guides I came for five days fishing and 6 days board . The Family run lodge has 8 great comfortable rooms great beds very clean all services available from laundry to wifi All the staff some of which are not family are really friendly and go out of their way to make your stay memorable you feel part of the lodge when you are staying there Food fantastic wines and a great choice of spirits special mention of the great Ceaser they make . You can do anything there they can offer camping they also have great kid camps where the kids can go riding and also study the great scenery around the lodge Try the snorkelling in the river and watch the fish going by . I went riding on the morning before I left on trails and it was great I keep using the word fantastic because it is ! While I was there a Swiss family took a three day mountain trip on horses where they stayed in a cabin each night Which they told me they really enjoyed At night you get to have a great dinner with the guests and occasionally the owners/family it's very informal and relaxing Obviously you can get either a packed lunch or cooked if you are in Breakfast has a great choice of cooked or cold cereals and fruit local wild blueberries and raspberries are a must have I will be coming again ( if I can get a reservation after this review) with friends and my wife as this is a very special place you have just got to come but not for less than a week as there is just to much to take in ! …
The lodge, staff, location, and food are all top class. This really reminded me of a Relais & Chateaux caliber property. Though much more intimate than a Sonara Resort, and a whole lot cheaper than Clayoquot Wilderness Resort. Our family of nine ranging from 1 to 70 years old stayed here for four nights as a family getaway. Activities during the trip included: river rafting and kayaking, horseback riding, zip-lining into the river, and most unique of all--snorkeling down the river watching the fish go by. My almost 4 year old also spent about 45 minutes on a tractor with the owner clearing brush on the property--that's an activity you won't find in the brochure, but he had a ball. So between these outdoor activities in a beautiful location along the river, the food in the lodge is amazing. This of course assumes you enjoy your food fresh, local, and made from scratch. All starts with the morning wake up call with a drink of your choice, a massive breakfast, "light" lunch, afternoon apps, and then a three course dinner. Now throw in the fact you're on a friendly first name basis with everyone working there, and the service levels are top class. I'd brought my 1 year old her own fork, and at each meal said fork would have been washed and wrapped up in a napkin in front of a high chair at the table. Love this sort of attention to small details. And should note that the service isn't in any way stuffy--it manages to be refined while being entirely casual. While lounging around the lodge they are all a delight to chat with. At the end of the day, this place actually is great value when factoring in everything that is included in the room rate (from high quality food to airport transfers). Plus mileage award tickets from Vancouver to Smithers on Air Canada are also pretty available (our whole group traveled same flights on Aeroplan awards), so you can minimize the sting of that pricey flight. The only bad thing I can say is I picked up a few more insect bites than I would have liked. But everyone else in the group put on some repellent and was just fine. My only initial trepidation in booking was the lack of reviews online. But their website definitely accurately portrays the experience--and the photos are entirely representative (so I'm not adding any photos here). This is really perfect for a summer family getaway. They were amazing with my young kids, and we'll definitely return in the future.…
The facility & access to Skeena & Kispiox are unbelievable! The staff is overwhelmingly accommodating & knowledgeable. Our Guide, Don, awa all guides on staff are very experienced, patient & determined to make your trip a successful angling adventure!
We chose to have our wedding at The Cliffs at Kispiox River because of it's beautiful location and resort, the bonus was the amazing staff!! Right from day one with planning and organizing to check-out, the staff took care of every need. The food was excellent, and the waiters, waitresses, and bartenters were extremely friendly. All staff members were continually two steps ahead with whatever any of our guests needed, making our wedding experience perfect :) I would highly recommend this venue for any type of social function!
The staff and Management at The Cliffs at Kispiox are superb!! They are all very helpful and polite and have the best service I have ever seen! If you can get a chance to experience this lodge you will not be disappointed. First class in a part of the world you will get lost in! It is located in the best Valley with the most spectacular views - don't forget your camera!
