Yes, if you are a light sleeper you will need earplugs......but, they are so worth it! This is a hidden gem. From the superb view, the solitude, the beautifully decorated room, the so comfy bed, plus goodies supplied by the inn....you will be delighted with your stay. We opened up the door, and just let out a sign of peacefulness!...

This is a very nice inn with renovated bathrooms and beautiful views. The main issue is the fog horn, as some other guests have noted. I grew up in San Francisco, with distant fog horns soothing me to sleep. This is certainly not the case here: For whatever reason, this fog horn blasts very frequently (every few minutes), day and...

My husband and I stayed in Flat Rock, the middle room on the ground floor,Thursday, March 1, 2012. The room was gorgeous and the view was fantastic. There was the lovely bonus of a welcome basket of snacks. My husband and I are looking forward to staying here again for more than one night. Please note, the inn keeper has...

A private little place in funky HMB. Quiet, small property with a huge room, a nice view, and the ability to hear the foghorn just enough to sound like the occasional French horn out in the distance. A little pricey-maybe. But a wonderful weekend.

Even though we live only 45 minutes away, it's like another world. We try to stay for a couple of nights at least two or three times a year. Everything about this place is great. Can't recommend it highly enough.

We needed a one night get-away that was close to San Mateo. It was a quiet, very comfortable treasure in the midst of mixed residential/industrial neighborhood. The view and the sounds from the room were nice...lots of good bird-watching. I would definitely go back.

This is a place I tell friends about often ! since we live just over the bridge in the East Bay this isn't a huge trip for us although we always feel like we've "gotten away from it all" when we are at the Inn at Mavericks. It's like a little hidden away gem just a few blocks from the...

This was the perfect retreat. We got lucky finding this place, away from the other resorts, right on the water, dog friendly, huge room with a patio and a soaking tub. We stayed in 'The Mavericks' room which was on the end, there was wine waiting for us when we checked in...next time we'll leave the family at home and...

When we arrived Thanksgiving Day the manager was not present (understandable on the holiday)but had left the key hanging outside the room-obviously a very safe neighbourhood! The room was lovely and had the most comfortable bed ever and a beautiful large bathroom complete with soaker tub and robes. There was a bar frig, microwave, glasses and dishes, a basket full...

My wife & I plus another couple stayed at the Inn at Mavericks for five nights. The waterside location was the best feature of the Inn (although there is no beach directly behind the Inn) and the rooms had been nicely renovated. The fog horn was an issue for us -- even with earplugs -- but not an issue for...
