I rented a private room with shared baths. THe bathrooms were clean. Everyone was nice. Only thing is it attracts a young party crowd. If you don't mind noise while you sleep you should be fine. I did not see ac in the room, but the night was pretty chilly so I did not need it. Linens were clean and...

If you want a cheap room right near the beach this is the place to stay. It is not the best hostel in the world however it is an absolute fantastic location at Hermosa Beach (which can make it a bit noisy at night if you are a light sleeper) and far cheaper than any other alternatives in this area...

I stop at the location being great everything else was below standard. Shower had a roach in it sink flooded then they had a go at us even though it wasn't either of us that did it. If you're into Latinos the bars down stairs have you covered. Wasn't our sorted place though. Found really good pub up the road...

I went for my 25th birthday by myself. First hostel experience I've ever had and let me tell you, I had the time of my life. The staff was amazing...I'll forever remember Fab, they did a wonderful job making sure everyone was having a good time and was included. I'll always remember the people I met there. Such a solid...

This is seriously the WORST hostel i've ever stayed in. The room smelled like a public bathroom, with old sheets and no closet, chair or table. The people working there were really unfriendly, except for the French lady owner. There was no decent place to sit down to meet other travellers, except a little room full of drunk kids and...

I would like to say this was an awesome hostel! I have been to many and never been to a US hostel. I would say my experience was overall positive..great staff, friendly guests. Best location you could ask for, right in the middle of the action and a few steps from the beach. Might be a little loud from the...

I have been at too many hostels to count over many years, and this hostel does stand out as one of the better. Its cleaned regularly, including toilets shower which is important. Theres quite a lot of space with two common rooms and kitchen and plenty fridge space Close to beach Laid back atmosphere, some of the staff live and...

Had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Surf City Hostel. It's a 20 stride walk onto the beach and you can hire a bike and ride for miles along to Santa Monica - it's the prettiest of bike rides. It is a hostel - so no you don't get a 5 star room and an en suite and it is...

The hostel is pretty much on the beach, you come out the door and the the sand and sea are steps away. There is no better location in Hermosa Beach! I've stayed all over the world in hostels and hotels of all classes and it's true this is a very basic hostel. If you're coming to LA to explore and...

this isn't the kind of place to stay if you are a princess as it is right on the beach so lots of sand is walked through, the showers and bathroom isn't immaculate but you can not fault the location. The french lady that runs the place is really lovely and so are the staff. It is directly above bars...
