Seated on a hillside overlooking the San Jacinto State Forest, the Idyllwild Bunkhouse is an affordable, eco-friendly mountain lodge tailor-made for hikers, rock-climbers, fisherman, mountain-bikers, or those of us who wouldn't dare head to the mountains without the kids or the pets. From camping-themed rooms with knotty pine interiors and vaulted open-beamed ceilings, to tastefully furnished cabins built with privacy in mind, every Bunkhouse accommodation has a kitchen/kitchenette, private balcony with stunning forest views, Aloe Vera bath amenities, free wi-fi and satellite television.
Over the Top Excitement! Got a freestanding cabin at the base of the woods, nature out the back door on an awesome deck overlooking the creek. Clean, well organized, and well equipped. Bring your own log for the fireplace! Value. Value!
Older motel with very high ceilings and very small bathroom. Rooms are decorated very rustic. Kitchen has coffee maker, small frig and small microwave. The light in the kitchen has to be turned on at the fixture which was challenging for me because I’m not very tall. Very comfortable room except for the walls being so thin and the street noise in the morning. The entire host family was wonderful, very friendly. My husband gave them all a ride in our dune buggy. Raj was great with recommendations for dining. He was also very accommodating with our parking challenge.
The beautiful scenery, helpful accommodations and close proximity to many of idyllwild's gorgeous nature trails made the bunkhouse an ideal place to visit, and the warm and inviting staff made the trip that much more enjoyable . Raj, in particular, went out of his way to ensure that my stay was as pleasant as possible, and was considerate enough to assist me with my late check-in (pile up traffic due to construction on the 10fwy). Looking forward to my next visit! Included a picture of the view from the deck
Very nice log cabin type of room, nice interior decor. Very cozy. Great location. Your back balcony is right by the fresh trees & pine trees. The photo does justice. Very friendly owner. Great service. We also appreciate the breakfast basket with freshly baked scones left by your door. One of the best scones I’ve ever had. We had an awesome stay!
Chose this place for a getaway for my husband's birthday.. We brought two friends and we shared our room which each bed was in a separate room. The owners / hosts were amazing to us. I can say we have made two new friends. It was close to the little town of Idyllwild, beautiful surroundings, a basket full of breakfast goods hung on our door in the morning, , I could go on and on.. We plan on coming back and renting about 10 rooms with a bunch of friends. Thank you Rodge, from the bottom of our hearts.
First of all, I do not recommend this hotel... There are others in the area for the same price, or even lower, that are WAY better maintained and managed and you will thank me later. See my review of Strawberry Creek... More

That being said, the kitchenette is basically as follows: a sink, microwave, mini fridge, coffee machine, electric tea kettle, glasses, mugs, silverware, some plates and bowls. If you ask, they have pots and pans and a hot plate available at the front desk. I would not recommend any serious cooking here (maybe reheating last nights leftovers would be totally feasible:). If you are looking for a place to cook, I would again recommend the Stone Creek Lodge, they have a communal fully equipped dream kitchen!! Seriously, I am a chef, and this kitchen was gorgeous!!!
Have fun, Idyllwild is a blast, but choose your stay at your own risk:)
