this place hasn't been touched since 1970, dirty lobby furniture, sunken living room furniture, a round bed with a leopard blanket.....get the picture. Had to wait 45 min at the airport for the shuttle. Only one chaise by the pool, other regular chairs. Glittery paint...More
This place is shocking!!!! I googled it as I wanted somewhere that was near Hollywood, and I got here after a 15 hour flight from Melbourne, Australia and it was 40 mins away from Hollywood Central.

The worst hostel I've ever stayed during my trip to USA. The management needs to change attitude calling the guest "dicks". I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Rooms were flooded and the place around the pool and the pool itself was full of vomits....More
The title I have chosen for this review asks whether this facility is a hostel or a hotel. I see it referred as both. Regardless of what it considers itself, Expedia thinks its a hotel. Since Expedia is where I booked this place, that is...More
Stayed here as it was near the airport and I arrived in LA late at night. Pulling up in the taxi there was a man screaming and hitting cars. Walked through reception and the whole area stunk of marijuana and looked dirty. This was definitely...More

There are many places in the US where one may not feel safe. I did sense some problems in the area around the hotel, and cannot advise properly how to avoid trouble, other than to suggest reading reviews of experiences, and avoid walking at night in some places. Even an experienced traveler can find themselves in trouble, and in the nicest of settings. It is embarrassing to me to say I actually felt far safer in Europe than in my home nation. One will find the more expensive places have a greater focus on guest safety. This hostel/hotel strives to maintain an atmosphere, but the times change. The sponsored day trips are a safe bet to see L.A. I found for the most part, Los Angeles is a friendly place, and this is something which is highly under-rated in legend. Instead of a chain, try a local burger / lunch place. Generous portions, and lots of vegetables! Sorry this is the best answer I can give. It does say "adventure" in the advertising!
