Our family enjoyed a 3 day get away at Point Reyes. The cottages were clean and comfortable. The location was great for kayaking on Tomales Bay and a short ride to Drakes Bay. The lighthouse and ranger station were closed due to corona virus but there are lots of hiking and biking trails. Point Reyes Station had several stores and restaurants open for take out or outdoor dining. I would make a reservation because space is limited.

We had an amazing stay here. We were able to bring our dog for a small extra fee. The grounds are huge and well manicured. You are able to do short 1/2 mile walks into the woods without even leaving the property. One day we set up a picnic at the lawn. We bought wine and cheese from the wonderful Palace Market and ordered take out Pizza from Osteria Stellina in Point Reyes. Chicken Ranch beach is dog friendly and just a short 4 min walk from the property. There is also a nice walk to the gorgeous Shell beach, that starts right across from the property. We did not use the pool and tub due to covid-19. The parks were also closed, and we did not see the light house and the other beaches. In the morning we went to Point Reyes and got coffee and pastries at Tobys in Point Reyes. The Bovine Bakery is very good too. Would recommend to download movies on your devices beforehand or bring books. The internet was very slow in the evening. In the early morning or at night it was fine and I got a speed of up to 10 Mbps which was ok for my video call. The walls are a bit thin, but it did not bother us. The neighbors were very courteous.

We have been coming to the property for years. The cottages are clean, nicely designed. Ours had a deck, fire place and kitchenette. There is plenty of space on the property to picnic, hike and relax. You don't feel like you are in a hotel, it feels like a private cabin,

We are two adults and stayed in King #12. On the positive side is the location, so close to Pt Reyes. It was very quiet and the grounds are beautiful. The bed was very comfortable, and the table and chairs were perfect for enjoying the dinner we brought and prepared in our kitchenette.
On the negative side; several of the dishes, pans, and utensils were dirty. There is a sign over the sink stating there is a $25 charge if dirty dishes are left. Clearly no one checked the dishes and pans in the cupboard. The shower was a nightmare. It is a tub/shower and only 1/2 of the water came out of the shower spout and the other half came out of the tub spout, so the flow was very light from the shower spout. In addition, the temperature fluctuated sporadically between scalding and cold. It was a shock to my system. Basically I had to stand out of the water and clean myself with a wash cloth getting it wet from the shower flow when it wasn't scalding. I could not wash my hair and it sure needed it after 2 days of hiking with a sunhat on. My husband opted for a bath.
The last morning was a bit nippy so we tried to turn the heater on, but it would not work. There is a binder with thorough instructions which we followed, but it did not work. The light over the sink in the kitchenette is so dim I could not see to wash the dishes. Fortunately there was a lantern in the closet which I could rig up over the sink. One of the lamps at the bedside table did not work.
I sent an email when we left to the owners explaining the problems we encountered. Their response was "Thanks for your comments. We will check these issues."
We are disappointed in their response, and will not be staying at the cottages again.

I stayed in one of the King cottages with my wife for two nights in February. We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed our room and the grounds at The Cottages. We appreciated the contactless check-in process and felt very at-ease the whole time. The room was spacious with nice furniture and a comfortable bed. It was a little cold in there at night despite the gas stove heating. The kitchen/dining supplies are adequate (pots, pans, dishes, electric stove, microwave, utensils). Charcoal grills available to borrow. The property is beautiful and we had a pleasant stroll around the grounds. We also liked the variety of lawn furniture throughout. There is a decent amount of noise from passing cars on Sir Francis Drake Blvd if you're hanging outside you're room. The proximity to Point Reyes National Seashore is pretty much unbeatable. Overall we would absolutely stay again.

Hello travelers! My friend and I each rented a cottage for night, Thursday Nov 16. We loved our stay and the location, we will be back!

We were especially impressed by the extra attention when we arrived - it was raining and we were greeted at our car as we drove up to the check in building with a welcome, was told the heat is turned on in our rooms, doors were unlocked and keys on a table in our rooms.

When we parked and opened the trunk of the car to unload, a women appeared to ask if she could help - I was grateful for the offer as the rain was coming down quite hard by now, and handed her one piece of luggage - I planned to bring in the second piece. She grabbed that one as well and ran them both to our rooms. We really appreciated it!

The location is a dream, lovely grounds (the autumn colors abound. ... the blaze of orange leaves brightened the fall landscape); the Cottages are minutes away from Point Reyes Station for meals and shopping, and going north, minutes away for a drive through Point Reyes National Seashore. The cottage has a refrigerator, a kitchen sink, a stove top, 2 options for making coffee, and plenty of dishes and glasses. The shower warmed up quickly and the water pressure powerful. I am already planning another trip with my husband and several other couples. Looking forward to another stay in another season!

We've enjoyed staying at the Cottages (formerly Inverness Valley Inn) for 15+ years. The property is beautiful - large lawns, lots of trees, flowers in spring, and nice areas for walks. The rooms are delightful - light and airy, always impeccably clean, with convenient kitchenettes, large closet, and nice views of trees and landscaping. The owners (former and new) and staff are friendly and helpful. The location is the closest to the Pt. Reyes peninsula, and also the only dog-friendly place in the area. Also posted was the latest health inspection, with all pandemic protocols met.

We visited Inverness for two nights and stayed at the Cottages. The grounds are neat and expansive. It was a lovely room and very well equipped. There are plenty of extra blankets, a refrigerator, and a kitchenette (two burners) with enough equipment to cook light meals. There is a terrific market in Inverness Park with fabulous prepared food, so you could stay at the cottages and be really self contained, if you wished.
The bed was comfy. My only complaint is a light one: the pillows were really thick. If don't want your head at a sharp angle, bring a pillow from home.

At the end of four months of sheltering in place, getting away from home was a lifesaver. After careful scrutiny of their Covid cleaning protocols, and with the high recommendation of a friend, we booked a two night stay.

Owners were lovely and helpful (at a masked distance) and the room was private and comfy. Nothing fancy here. Basic kitchenette good for microwaving and making tea, maybe scrambled eggs, and bringing in takeout dinners.

Short walk to a great beach and a car ride from Pt. Reyes beaches and the tule elk preserve. Already planning our next visit in September.

As you can see, no social distancing problem at the beach. 😊

We enjoyed our quick visit to Tomales Bay. The location of the Cottages was perfect. The place was clean and comfortable with all the conveniences of home. We felt well cared for despite being under covid-19 restrictions. We would love to come back in the summer and definitely would stay here again. May we suggest converting one of the tennis court into 4 pickleball courts?

They did have at least one ADA cottage (#21, I believe) in 2014, but it makes sense to call to confirm and to reserve that cottage specifically.
