It was perfect. We stayed for the weekend so we could hike around the area. The location is right on the Main Street, and a one minute walk to basically everywhere. 5 min walk to gull lake. It’s very clean and the owner is very friendly. We had a king room with everything you need for a long weekend: mini fridge, microwave, toaster and small coffee maker (bring your own coffee if you like to enjoy coffee). It had pairs of whiskey glasses, wine glasses and coffee cups and disposable plates and utensils.
This place is not super updated and doesn’t have the finest of linens so if you’re looking for luxury, stay in mammoth. But if you’re looking for a nice, clean place to stay with the luxury of appliances and want to support a nice family, stay here.

A Quiet and unassuming property, well located in June Lake close to local amenities and (most importantly) the local brewery with it's two food vans. We stayed for two nights in comfort and used the motel as a good location for exploring the local area and mountain biking in Mammoth Bike Park.
We had a first floor room with four beds so for two people, there was plenty of room! The kitchen was basic but well appointed in terms of utensils and we used this our advantage. Would highly recommend heading to "The Lift" for breakfast in the morning. Great breakfast burritos and coffee await. a 3 min walk from the Motel.

This was the cutest and best-equipped motel I've ever stayed in. Friends and I booked this motel in June Lake when we couldn't find anything in Lee Vining. We were pleasantly surprised. We loved the fully equipped kitchen with a table, chairs, coffee maker, refrigerator, stove, oven, dishes, and even a crockpot. The owner of the place was very friendly and helpful and gave us so much information on the area.

We were concerned about being on the main road through town, but it was actually quiet and we liked being so close to many restaurants and bars.

Next time I go to the Mammoth Lakes and the Lee Vining area I will be sure to see if this place is available!

I've been here before, and was not disappointed this time. The kitchen comes very well equipped - 4 burner gas stove, coffee maker, microwave, full sized fridge. Plenty of utensils and plates. I am a light sleeper and really value a quiet room. The motel is on the main street of June Lake, but it is pretty quiet as dark approaches, and if I leave a fan running, the noise drowns anything out. I slept quite soundly. Rooms are not made up daily but anything I wanted was quickly supplied at the office. There are tables outside the rooms that are nice for dining and meeting your neighbors. I so much prefer June Lake over Lee Vining (noisy highway runs through it) or Mammoth (quite a bit trendier and more crowded). I'll be back.

Last time I was here I was concerned about the skate ramp being built behind the place, but although my room was right above it, there was no action there and things were quiet. The motel is on the main street of town, but it's not real busy once it gets dark, and I'd just leave a fan running to drown out noise. I'm a light sleeper and I slept great every night for my two week stay here. I am a hiker, up and out early, out all day, eat dinner in. There are two gas fired grills available to guests and they are great. Kitchen is perfect for a small party, 4 gas burners, microwave, coffee maker with coffee / filters, full sized fridge. June Lake so much more pleasant by my standards than Lee Vining (highway runs right through it) or Mammoth ( busy summer tourist scene). Tioga Pass is less than half an hour away, and there are lots of other hiking options from different Sierra access roads. I sure hope I get to come back!

I had a comfortable stay in this vintage building. Quiet and convenient. It was especially nice to have a full kitchen, and there is a handy small grocery store virtually next door where you can pick up some supplies. My only complaint was a smell that bothered me. It might have been strong air freshener or something the cleaning people use, but it was burning my nose (Dear Management— it felt totally unnecessary!).

I was in June Lake Motel for 4 nights. I cant explain how good it was every thing. Extremly confortable beds and rooms. Next to a grocery store and a a few restaurants. 7 minutes walking to the lake, also to the mountain to ski. The staft at the motel was awesome, always kind, showing real interest for my well-being during my stay, recommending me things to do in the village.
Tyler Oepkes and Kimberly were the managers and they will do anythig for you to be confortable like I was.
I highly recomend june lake motel
My favorite place in the June Lake definitely

What a place!
Needed a torch to find the light switches
It stank
It was cold and damp
Bed linen and towels were so old and quite disgusting. Sheets were not ironed
Walls were wafer thin and could here every adjoining room as well as owners TV for hours
Gave up after half an hour to make coffee - so left as soon as we could.
What a rip off for $120. Better places in Vegas at that price.

Stayed here for two nights when travelling between Death Valley and Yosemite. This proved to be a lovely stopover, exploring the area around June, Mono and Mammoth Lakes, encountering beautiful scenery and local hospitality.
Big shout out for Lisa for her friendly hospitality and for being helpful in so many ways, totally made our stay.
We stayed in room 119 on the first floor, a spacious room with a King sized bed and kitchenette. Very comfortable and homely with reasonable WiFi as well if you want to stay in touch. The room has a fridge, microwave, coffee maker but only has disposable plates and plastic knives as standard. The ever helpful Lisa loaned us a couple of breakfast bowls for our cereal. The room contained a folder with loads of local information.
Outside the room on the Verandah is a table and chairs, great for dining al fresco.
Loved staying here, highly recommended.

I stayed here because I was looking for a good base camp for doing day trips in the Yosemite high country off the Tioga Pass road. I had previously stayed in Lee Vining but although it is 15 minutes closer, the whole town is right along 395, which is a busy road. June Lake is a few miles off on a side road and much more peaceful. (BTW, there is no need to "buy a Yosemite pass" at the Chevron station, you'll do that at the entrance station and you have to stop there every time you come in anyway). Thirty minutes from June Lake to the entrance station at Tioga Pass.

I really liked this motel a lot, so let me start with the things I liked. The owners were nice and friendly. The room was big and well furnished (two beds, two easy chairs). It was clean and well organized (big closet, lots of clothes hooks). The kitchen was just great - lots and lots of dishes, all sorts of pots pans and utensils, full sized fridge (we ate all our morning and evening meals in), coffee maker. The kitchen/dining area is a separate nook from the rest of the room, very cozy. Bathroom clean and functional - good water pressure and temps on the shower. Beds were firm as I like them, lots of extra blankets and pillows available. There's a one washer/dryer guest laundry. They have a couple of propane BBQ grills available - had I realized that I would have planned my meals a bit differently.

Oh, the wifi is really excellent, very speedy!

The down side is noise. Almost all the rooms have no AC (had not realized that when I reserved). There is a wonderful cool downslope breeze as soon as the sun sets that will have you using blankets after daytime temps in the 80s - if you keep the front windows open. That's the rub. The motel is right on the only real street in town. Traffic dies down pretty quickly after dinner time. The ice machine howls, but it is on a timer and shuts off around 9:15 (blissful!). Two of the rooms have AC and you hear it cycle on and off on and off all night. There is NOT much noise from the neighbors. It took me a few nights to figure out that all worked out well if I ran the desk fan on medium just to make some white noise, and pulled back the heavy front drapes to let air flow while keeping out light (the houses along the main street have cute lights outlining their frames).

So, the noise is what kept me from giving it a 5 but I would like to come back and spend more time in the area. I'm a hiker and go to bed early / get up early and everything else about June Lake Motel is great.

As for Yosemite, don't even think about using June Lake as a base for trips into the main Valley, that's a long ways away in slow traffic. The east side of Yosemite has the high peaks, alpine meadows, great hiking, and much less traffic / crowds. This is the part of the park which will bring me back, as well as interest in other trailheads on the east side.
