Everything here was amazing. The staff was great, the food was great, the room was great and the outdoor bath was great. Everything here is tranquil with classical music playing at places. The hotel staff was really helpful and the massage I got in the spa is the best I got in my life. I stayed at a lot of...

We were picked up at the train station as set up in advance. When we arrived, our bags were whisked to our room while we were sitting in the lobby with tea and a chestnut treat and discussed all the details of our stay - when we want dinner, if we want to book the outdoor bath, when we want...

This small hotel with total 13 rooms is an excellent place to relax and enjoy the hot sping and excellent food. The staff made you feel very welcome n attend to small details. Their english is not excellent but good enough to communicate. Though TV is not essential, its still good if English chanel is available n it is lacking....

I have been to several onsens and the normal configuration is to have the outdoor bath accessed from the bathroom so that one can shower afterwards. For our room at Suisen, the outdoor bath is location in...

A very relaxing and charming ryokan away from the touristy crowds at Arashiyama. The ryokan is quite small with only fourteen rooms with little facilities but surrounded by rustic and beautiful scenery. While they have separate onsen for both male and female, however there's a outdoor onsen that guest can book for 45 mins private use for a small fee....

stayed on 22 December for one night. All the hotel staffs are warm and nice, and the hotel facilities are very delicate and full of traditional Japanese ryokan style. You can choose the pattern you like for your yukata, and wear it while staying the hotel. Very relax and you can keep distance from crowded city in the mountain with...

Went with the wife recently and have already booked again for October. A new onsen, Rooms were spotless, staff were extremely helpful. The large bath has sliding doors that open looking out onto a nice garden and pond. The highlight was the food. I've been going to Japan every year since 1989 and I have to say this was the...
