We are local but I needed to move out for termite tenting. This was a simple. Inexpensive way to stay 2 nights in the village. Central location. Rooms were clean but very Spartan. Large TV set however. Friendly staff. Ample parking. Motel like feeling. Free Internet.

Thank you for your detailed review of our hotel. As far as the Spartan rooms, we are working on renovating (one by one), so if you decide to book with us again, please ask for one of our renovated rooms! See you soon!

a real value and good location, the bed was nice. The walls are thin. we would stay there again because of location and value. The neighborhood is so totally safe an very nice area which is a real plus.

We stayed one night, a Saturday, in order to attend an artist reception. This hotel offered a prime location for walking to the Cove and around the Village. We were greeted so warmly, and our room was clean, comfortable and quiet (except for the people on the floor above us at 2am). For the price we were very pleased with...

Very friendly staff, ready to answer all questions. The location is great - 7-minute walk from La Jolla Cove Beach. Clean, comfortable rooms. The building is a little bit old, but it does not cause much inconvenience. Breakfast is small but quite diverse (pastries, fruit, toast, coffee, juice). Good quality/price ratio. I would definitely stay here again.

Love the quality of the water from taking showers; housekeepers keep the bathrooms clean, but they need to fix the beds without extra cost; power switch for the microwave and coffee maker needs a separate electrical outlet

We stayed at La Jolla Village Lodge for 4 nights in July. We got the family room with the 2 queens and a single bed in an adjoining room. We had a microwave and fridge in our room as well. The staff was very friendly and helpful when asked questions about the area. it is an older building without many...

Very nice sized room, small bathroom. Very friendly customer service from two different people at the front desk. Breakfast was small but they made an effort to provide some nice options (fruit, pasteries, bread with a toaster, juice, coffee, tea). Very good price and we 100% loved the location. Can walk to lots of restaurants and the coast. Clean room....

I guess what others found charming I found to be, well, dated. It’s old, and looks like the 1950s décor was upgraded to the 1960s. Room was small, A/C loud (so it drowned out the street traffic), minuscule bathroom, poor lighting, no elevator. On the plus side, WiFi worked fine, staff was very helpful, shades darkened the room, bed was...

We made a quick trip to San Diego for a family event and really wanted to stay in La Jolla, but were on a tight budget and didn't want to pay a lot for our accommodations. We found this property on-line and immediately loved the location, but were a bit concerned because it looked like a much older property. Fortunately,...
