Very friendly staff, ready to answer all questions. The location is great - 7-minute walk from La Jolla Cove Beach. Clean, comfortable rooms. The building is a little bit old, but it does not cause much inconvenience. Breakfast is small but quite diverse (pastries, fruit, toast, coffee, juice). Good quality/price ratio. I would definitely stay here again.

Love the quality of the water from taking showers; housekeepers keep the bathrooms clean, but they need to fix the beds without extra cost; power switch for the microwave and coffee maker needs a separate electrical outlet

We stayed at La Jolla Village Lodge for 4 nights in July. We got the family room with the 2 queens and a single bed in an adjoining room. We had a microwave and fridge in our room as well. The staff was very friendly and helpful when asked questions about the area. it is an older building without many... More

Very nice sized room, small bathroom. Very friendly customer service from two different people at the front desk. Breakfast was small but they made an effort to provide some nice options (fruit, pasteries, bread with a toaster, juice, coffee, tea). Very good price and we 100% loved the location. Can walk to lots of restaurants and the coast. Clean room.... More

I guess what others found charming I found to be, well, dated. It’s old, and looks like the 1950s décor was upgraded to the 1960s. Room was small, A/C loud (so it drowned out the street traffic), minuscule bathroom, poor lighting, no elevator. On the plus side, WiFi worked fine, staff was very helpful, shades darkened the room, bed was... More

We made a quick trip to San Diego for a family event and really wanted to stay in La Jolla, but were on a tight budget and didn't want to pay a lot for our accommodations. We found this property on-line and immediately loved the location, but were a bit concerned because it looked like a much older property. Fortunately,... More

Staid here one night for an event. The location is close to everything in La Jolla Village. 5 minutes to cove. Super friendly Maureen at front desk.Left my charger in room by accident and she mailed it home to me. Can not beat the rates. If you remember and love the 60' as I do ,you will love La Jolla... Like your own summer beach house. Porches outside, clean and comfy inside. Upgraded linens, free parking, free wifi, flatscreen TV, close to everything, the friendliest staff anywhere. We have been staying here every year for 15 years and always a relaxed and hassle free experience. This is a real value!

The Village Lodge offers reasonably priced (for expensive La Jolla), basic, clean lodging right in the heart of La Jolla. Rooms have a mini fridge and there is a Von's two blocks away. Rooms also feature mildly retro decor, a flat screen TV (ours was a bit buggy but worked), a relatively weak WiFi signal and the rate includes on-site... More
