As boutique hotels go we really enjoyed our stay here. You just need to know the rooms are small but clean and beds are comfortable. Nice little happy hour area and continental breakfast. Convenient parking

I stayed overnight at the Varden March 7th. Small and sincere hotel in downtown Long Beach. Well appointed room, clean and efficient. Staff really made the difference by speaking to you like you are a guest and a customer. Never unctuous. Before leaving I asked the front desk guy about the renovation of the shower, and he had a high...

The rooms at the Varden are small. But if you need a nice, clean & quite place to sleep - it is perfect! This former fleabag hotel has been expertly remodeled into a European style boutique hotel. 1/2 the price of the nearby big chain hotels, personalized service and close to downtown Long Beach. Everything is within walking distance. Free...

The Varden Hotel sits at the edge of downtown Long Beach. This place was a real find. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. They brought our luggage to our room ( no elevator), gave us great suggestions about where to eat and how to get around. Really good restaurants were only two blocks away. The Hotel is also very...

The Verden was a great find. I was attending a very large conference and the hotels adjacent to the Convention Center were over $300/night. The Vader provided everything that I needed: free and GOOD WiFi, A clean and comfortable room, and a wonderful staff---all at a half of what other venues were charging. The owners did an awesome job combining...

I was pleasantly surprised by the charm of the Varden; yes, the rooms are small but I love the minimalist furnishings - the room had everything I needed, the bed and bedding were immaculate and very comfortable. The room overall was very clean and sparkling - although the carpet is worn, it is also clean. And the hotel is surprisingly...

We stayed two nights at the Varden. This historic hotel has been fully refurbished and is located near the Arts district, in easy walking distance of the Harbor and some really good restaurants. The rooms are small but cozy, very well equipped with a super comfortable bed and plenty of power outlets for your chargers. There's free wifi and a...

A wonderful and charming boutique hotel. From the friendly greeting to the warm good bye, I couldn't have been happier. The linens are high quality, and I love the fact that it is a historic building renovated into clean, modern rooms. The beds are doubles, which was fine for me. Would love to return!
