Nestled conveniently close to local attractions, the Hyatt Regency Long Beach offers an atmosphere that blends elegance with comfort, despite some signs of wear. Many guests commend the hotel for its cleanliness and the inviting pool area, though opinions on the rooms are mixed, with praise for their tidiness but some criticism regarding size and decor. While the service and amenities generally receive positive remarks, a number of travelers point out occasional service mishaps and consider the hotel less cost-effective due to hidden fees and pricey options.

Stayed at the Hyatt Regency Long Beach for a couple of nights on a quick weekend trip to Southern California. We checked in a little late due to a late flight, however it was a quick and easy check in.

Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There is one electric outlet on each side of the bed and the one on my side did not work. I have read other reviews about the sheets not being clean, but this was not the case. There was a nice big 50-55inch tv inside the room as well as a mini fridge to keep the drinks cold. Bathroom shower pressure was pretty good and the water temperature did get pretty warm/hot. The room we had also connected to the room next to us. Not sure if the noise we heard from other people were from next door or a few rooms down.

We did not really stay inside the hotel that much, so we didn't really explore the hotel. There were many of tables set up for registration for a convention in the lobby. I would imagine that this hotel would be ideal for those who have a convention at the hotel or nearby as the Long Beach convention center is right next door. Across from the hotel is the Pike Outlets shopping center and other restaurants and Starbucks shop within walking distance of the hotel.

The staff who interacted with us were nice and friendly. There is valet and self park for those who have cars like we did. We used self park for this trip. It is a little pricey at $31 for overnight parking, but you can go in and out as you please as long as you're a hotel guest.

I had a two night stay in early January. I have been to Long Beach many times but never stayed here - usually having been at the Renaissance or Westin. My interactions with front desk staff were pretty perfunctory without much warmth or welcome but that was fine. Room was nice and clean with a great view over the beach. I liked some of the coastal style touches in the room which made it feel a bit less cookie-cutter-esque. It is in a great location for the harbour, beach, Pike and downtown with everything being very walkable. I thought the parking charges quite high, especially when you can use the Pike garage about two minutes walk away for quite a bit less. I would defintiely stay here again.

First time staying at Hyatt regency and the room wasn’t cheap.
The room description clearly states room service with a safety measure of the food being dropped off at the door instead of being delivered inside the room. But There was no room service available at all due to Covid and the staff was inquisitive about where I had seen this on the website so I showed them but no offer of making this up somehow was extended our way.
Please keep the pool clean. It is cloudy and full of sunscreen. I was so looking forward to using that pool but ended up not using it at all.
Please clearly state it somewhere on the site when booking that parking costs extra and what the rate is. As a paying hotel guest the nightly rate of $31 is somewhat excessive.
I was immediately contacted when I said that there was a spray out of the top shower hose but someone showed up with a drain pipe cleaner. Please take a second look at communication for guests needs.
The walls are so thin that we could hear everything next door and upstairs including neighbors raising and lowering the blinds.

After multiple stays in many different locations, this one was by far one of the worst, not even sure where to begin, upon arrival, my family and I were not received well by staff, being obviously looked down upon for being a bi-racial couple, after a painfully long trip from Colorado, we were exhausted and tried to over look the details, hoping for a comfortable night of rest. after a long wait in with nearly no line, we finally got checked in waiting in a not so very busy yet enormous lobby, the room was well below expectations, we were placed in a "broom closet" at the very end of the hallway, furthest away possible from the elevators, now, to anyone that has ever traveled with a 13 month old,you are very much aware of the amount of extra supplies required to maintain a baby not only entertained but also clean and well fed, needless to say, the back and forth was nowhere near convenient for neither us or the baby, not only the room was very far and tiny, it for some reason had a television set almost the size of a king bed, yet no microwave or any way possible to even heat up water for tea or a bag of pop corn, and the so called " mini-fridge" was exactly that: MINI, maybe 4 soda cans worth in size, again, if you've ever traveled with a baby, you know that is not enough space. Also, shower head had rust & limescale built up, the couch/lounge chair was not only horribly uncomfortable to all of us, it also smelled very old, overall cleanliness of the room and bathroom as well were far below expectations, especially based on price paid and location, would not recommend

This hotel has a great location. It has wonderful views (on one side) and great proximity to the convention center and Harbor Village. Other than those positives, there is nothing good to say about this hotel. It is tired and dingy. The bathrooms are about Travelodge quality. They put a 75" TV in the room (likely an attempt to wow guests) but it look completely ridiculous. The food service for a hotel this size is dismal. A small cafeteria looking restaurant serves only breakfast and lunch and an equally small bar serves only a limited food menu after that. The front desk clerks are friendly, but insistent that you pay for an upgrade if you want a room on the water side of the hotel, even when it is mostly empty.

The hotel was centrally located. We walked/rolled everywhere. The ADA room was awesome. There was plenty of room around the bed for wheelchair access, the bathroom was VERY WELL SET UP with a roll under sink, roll in shower, grab bars, room to maneuver wheelchair. Staff was well informed about accessible environment and ways to get around without encountering obstacles. Pool and spa had lifts.

I'll start by saying the location of the hotel is great. Chose it for a quick 3 day getaway to celebrate my anniversary. It's close to shopping, restaurants, the marina, etc. The lobby area and public areas were well kept that I noticed and because of those things I give this particular hotel 2 stars. However, the room had a dated feel like it needed a new coat of paint, wallpaper, and some updated lights and furniture. Room size ok but bathroom was really small. My main issue was the room was not cleaned well or properly. I expected more especially from a Hyatt and Regency brand to boot. I expected more as well due to Covid and the so called cleaning protocols they advertise. Several towels had multiple hairs and were stained. There were hairs of various kinds very visible in the bathtub and on the vanity in bathroom. There were also hairs on sheets in bed. It made my skin crawl. Luckily, I had my sanitizing wipes and Lysol spray that I brought to clean and wipe down everything I could in the room. I had to send my husband down for fresh towels. I travel with a lightweight blanket and used it to lay over sheets and I used a beach towel to place over the pillows because after all that the rooms just felt dirty. I know there may be staffing shortages due to Covid and I understand during this time daily housekeeping is no longer available, restaurants may be closed or have limited services, amenities may be lacking and I'm prepared for those things but cleanliness should be a top priority and of the utmost importance. I travel often, I am a Hyatt member and have stayed at several other locations this year and my stays were great this hotel though missed the mark and
I will not stay again or recommend to others. Note: I did advise front desk and housekeeping of my issues right away while there and they did send someone to clean room "again" however that first impression had already been made and ruined.

This hotel is in a great spot especially when working the convention center. Out the side door and 1 block walk to get to the convention center. Also right across the street is 7 restaurants, outback, chili's, smokehouse, hooters plus a few others. It is also only a 10 min walk to get downtown. The hotel was clean and staff was friendly. For those working the convention, being able to sneak away for 10 min to use your hotel bathroom versus trying to get one of the stalls in the convention makes it worth it! My only complaint is the cost of breakfast, $28 for the buffet is insane but I guess that's expected in downtown Long Beach, CA. Denny's is a few blocks away and you can feed a family for $28.

This was our first stay at a Hyatt property and the hotel was fabulous - the ambiance and style were beautiful, the location is perfect and the views are fantastic. This was a family vacation with our two boys in their early 20’s. The hotel is perfectly situated close to the water and within walking distance of the marina and many restaurants, shops, a comedy club and movie theater. My family really enjoyed the variety of things to see and do in the area. The only downside is that the hotel is huge and the staff is a bit inconsistent. Some of the staff are friendly and others are basically indifferent. Parking is an additional charge and it doesn’t come cheap. The breakfast at the hotel is very pricey, but there is a Starbucks and cafe shop where you can get a yogurt or breakfast sandwich at a more reasonable price. Overall this was a great place to stay to enjoy a few days on the coast in Long Beach. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

The location and the aesthetics of the hotel are extremely nice. The quality of the rooms could be improved with extra care to cleanliness, especially the carpets, walls and bathroom floors. The price of the stay did not meet my expectations of the quality of the room nor did the "restaurant". A 4 or five star hotel's restaurant should have quality food for the price and not food that's heated and served from a microwave.
