The location of this property at LA Live is ideal for basketball or hockey games. The rooms were clean, a nice size, with relatively large bathrooms. We had requested a high floor, and our request was honored upon arrival. The fitness center is open 24 hours, and had nice equipment, and a wall of windows which provided nice light. Room...

Our favorite hotel to stay in while in downtown. Beautiful lobby, friendly staff and views from the rooms that are spectacular. All the amenities you could ask for in a classy hotel. A new addition is the Ford Filling Station restaurant located in the lobby area. Chef Benjamin Ford (Harrison Ford's son) is the Executive Chef. The hotel is conveniently...

We went out for a fitness convention and loved the hotel. It is close to la convention center (8 min walk) and right next to great places to eat. The bar and restaurant in the hotel is pricey but worth it. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

We stayed here for a convention and had booked a 2 bed room personally. Upon early arrival they said our room was not ready yet and so we waited 4 hours and kept asking at which point we were told there were no 2 bed rooms available and we should just get the single bed room until one was. Could...

This is my second time at the JW in a few months. The hotel was just as clean and comfortable as the last visit. The lobby is always busy with some sort of group meeting. I arrived at 10:30 am,earlier than the check in time, and had to wait a short time for my room to be ready. What was...

Two major issues with the hotel -- First, my initial room had had some kind of really cheap perfume spilled in it and I needed to move to another room. This wasn't caught by the staff and was a big inconvenience -- I had to wait several hours for another room. Second, I was told over the phone that my...

One of the most complete and utter failures from a customer service perspective. Bell service fails to deliver bags to room. After calling for bags 5+ hours after check in, we wait again for our bags...crickets. Finally, after another 30 minutes of waiting, I go down to bell desk and bags are still sitting in their back room. Ask for...

I really liked the rooms and the lounge. We had a very nicely sized, modern room and well apportioned ammenities. The lounge and breakfast offerings were much better than the average Marriott. Also, the service is quite good in all aspects from concierge, to front desk, to restaurant to housekeeping, to the lounge. One thing to consider is the location....

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
