This house was amazing! we stayed for 5 days and did not want to leave. The location is excellent, so close to the beach, bars, restaurants and shops. The house is so beautiful and relaxing, even better than the photos. The outdoor garden was so tranquil to relax in. Great internet and parking was a great bonus. The communal bathroom...

stayed here three months ago in April for 2 nights and loved it. location excellent, its 20 metres walk from main restaurants/pubs and above all else, the Beach. was beautiful getting up at 8am and hitting the beach straight away. is expensive compared to European prices, but that perhaps is due to weak € and is actually one of the...

A true disappointment. We booked in november 2014 based on tripadvisor's ratings and reviews, unfortunately the internet does not convey smells. We got delayed en route to L.A. and realized we would miss the 8pm check-in time limit (absurde), we contacted them and received instructions on how to get in. When we eventually got there we found the keys to...

This place was a disappointment. We paid $200 for a room for one night. We were really excited about it, it looks lovely on the website, and it is reality. We had to press the button to get in and were met by an extremely grumpy woman, a pretty hostile 'welcome' and we had reserved parking on their own website...

Hi Katy, First of all, congratulations on your marriage!! It is so upsetting that your experience here did not reflect this happy time in your lives. The welcome attitude you were met with is completely unacceptable and I am so sorry. Along with the parking issue, that is not how we operate here. I would love to show you why...

If you like to stay somewhere a little funky, Venice Beach is the place to go. It was a great couple getaway, The house is a little tired, but clean and good value. Your likely to meet foreign tourists at breakfast, Rent bikes, ride along the beach and capture the ambiance of the 60'.

The exterior of the house and the garden are lovely. The interior definitely needs work. I would not call this a real B&B because it is run by staff. Breakfasts were so so, very little fruit and almost nearly all white flour products to toast. Uncomfortable bed. Also poor Wifi likely due to thick brick walls in our room.

Very convenient location. Near to the beach, restaurants, bars and the old Canals. My wife and I had to catch a flight next day to Asia for our honeymoon and it is a short drive to the airport. The rooms are very clean and specifically really comfortable beds, pillows sheets. The shared bathrooms are always kept clean and sharing with...

The Venice Beach house reminds me of an old english "pension". It is more than a B&B, but not really a hotel. Fantastic location 1 small block from ocean and one block from Washington Blvd with bars and nightlife. Very quiet though. Squeeking floors and just charming. Some rooms with shared bath. All rooms very individual. We took the James...

A lovely old house reflecting an almost forgotten time. A real oasis on modern Venice Beach. Super location and even sharing a bathroom quite ok. Friendly staff but breakfast should start at 0700 rather than 0800. Rooms well appointed and the old photos of Venice add much character.

We had a cozy little queen (Abbott Kinney) with a shared-bathroom, which we didn't mind. Our room had a great balcony, french doors, a TV (which we didn't need), and padded walls (which our neighbors did need). The whole house was quaint, and they have more green space and outdoor (and indoor) sitting areas than most spots in that area...

Staying in Venice

Neighbourhood Profile
Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
