This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

The Westin Los Angeles Airport hotel offers a modern atmosphere and comfortable furnishings that are popular with guests, though the lobby music can be intrusive for some early risers. While the shuttle service and dining options are appreciated, concerns over cleanliness and limited lounge access are noted. Despite many finding the hotel clean, some have issues with bathroom sensor lights. Room experiences vary, with noise and renovations sometimes detracting from their comfort and elegance. Service opinions are mixed, with commendations for staff friendliness contrasting with complaints about slow and rude interactions. Overall, many travelers question the value, feeling that the cost outweighs the benefits provided.

We stayed here a couple of nights, which were both good. They’re still seems to be a handful of things that need to be ironed out with the extensive remodel.
We have stayed here many times in the past several years both for Park and Fly and also where we are in LA for a show / event.
Everything was nice and clean. The staff is always very nice and friendly.

Two scenarios in the actual room that are kind of annoying and that were that way last time we stayed too. When you’re in the bathroom, particularly in the shower, the movement light goes off very soon. It’s not like I take a long shower, but it’s interesting that the lights go outso soon. The other thing that I wish would get changed is that the bathroom door is not able to stay open without propping it open with something. When you’re in the bathroom, sometimes it is nice to have the door open for air flow but this is not an option.

The restaurant has always been very consistently good. We had dinner there 2 nights and everything was top-notch. The staff is always very friendly and the food is always very fresh and tasty.

The new Westin Club is nice, but still has some things that need to be ironed out. We had breakfast twice here and the hot food was either very lukewarm or cold. The only thing that keeps the food warm is water underneath the food. There need to be warmer devices. The best example is the pancakes that tasted fine, but we’re cold from the beginning, and then once you put cold butter and cold syrup on them it just wasn’t right. The bacon, however, on the second day was hot and crispy and perfect.
We were told that the staffing was not up to 100% yet so the club was not open for drinks or snacks yet during hours.

There were at least two very large groups in the hotel when we were there. There were also several challenges with the elevators. Every time we waited for elevator, it took forever to go up or down. There was always people on every single floor that were trying to get in the elevator. I was told later that there was a problem with the elevators but nobody was available to come out on a weekend.

I have stayed here many times and this will not affect my future stays since I am a regular however it will be nice to see all these kinks worked out and everything running smoothly.

Dear Valued Guest,  First and foremost, we appreciate your loyalty to our hotel. It is a pleasure to read your kind remarks about our well-maintained property and dedicated associates, as well as your enriching dining experience at our restaurant. Having said that, we are sorry for the issues you mentioned with the bathroom and for the inconvenience this caused. These concerns have been noted and shared accordingly as we continually work to improve our accommodations. In addition, we will follow up on your comments about the food served at the club with the relevant individuals, as providing perfectly prepared meals to our guests is one of our top priorities. The room itself was the usual understated Westin neutral toned elegance and the bed and linens incredibly comfortable, which is why I prefer Westin in general. I also love that there are water refill stations in the lobby. However, you can't change the fact that it's right next to the airport. You might get a great view of the runways but you'll also hear planes taking off throughout the day and especially late at night. You can also hear alarms going off for your neighboring guests and doors slamming. If you have free breakfast with your status it's in the "Executive Lounge" on the 12th floor, not the restaurant on the ground floor.

Dear mxa2022, Thank you for being our guest at The Westin Los Angeles Airport. We are glad you enjoyed your overall time with us and that you loved the beautiful views and our signature Westin Heavenly Bed®. That said, we regret the disturbances you experienced due to runway noise, an unfortunate side effect of our convenience to the airport. Excellent place to stay near the airport. The hotel was quiet and comfortable. Check in was easy and was able to leave my car there instead of LAX. The shuttle took us to the airport at 4:15 AM and runs every 15 to 20 minutes. Will be my go to LAX hotel.

Terrible night at the Westin LAX during a business trip. The sensor lights in the bathroom turned themselves on every 90 minutes throughout the night. The bathrooms have glass doors, so the whole room would be light. I thought there was an intruder in the room! But it happened all night. I complained to the manager at 6:30 am at check-out and she said that since I didn’t call maintenance, they couldn’t verify that this was true. Absolutely terrible customer service. Would never stay there again.

What a disappointment. I chose the executive level to treat my friend who rarely gets away without her little one to find out at all the executive level amenities weren’t accessible because they closed the lounge before check-in and weren’t opening it back up until after we checked out. They still charged me for them and all the rude staff offered was a $50 credit to their bar/restaurant which didn’t even cover two appetizers and two non-alcoholic drinks. In addition, the noise from outside, the noise from the rooms on either side of us, and the noise from the staff in the early morning provided a horrible night’s sleep. Definitely feel cheated and will not be back.

I feel The Westing Los Angeles Airport is a complete, one-stop hotel. It is clean and has a pleasant smell, a beautiful, open-space lobby, and friendly and helpful staff. Unlike other hotels, they clean your room daily. There's a gym, a pool, a bar, a safe, and a complimentary airport shuttle every 15 minutes or so. The trip to the airport takes 15 - 20 minutes, depending on how many stops are required to drop off guests in different terminals. The Westin features an outstanding restaurant/bar called "Daily Grill," open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I had the best steak in a long time at the "Daily Grill" with delicious, rich veggies. The restaurant has competitive prices in the area; I paid $40 for my steak dinner. Google advertises a steak house in the area at $100 per person. The restaurant staff is the friendliest and most professional you can encounter, in addition to serving fast. Their menus offer a variety of foods, and you will find something you like. A Cafe Latte is $6.50, and it was delicious too. I felt a genuine welcome here.

Ines at the reception desk went above and beyond normal expectations to ensure that our rooms were available in a timely manner after a 5 hour flight. INES you are the best at what you do. Our flight got in to LAX at 9 am ,which is way earlier than than the normal check-in times at the Westin. Ines was able to make suggestions on how we could get our rooms and she also made sure that our Bonvoy memberships were updated.
Thank you,

A very comfortable hotel, recently updated. Very comfortable rooms, good customer service. Spacious. The Daily Grille may be unsurpassed as a $$$ restaurant. Every offering was quality.
A few suggestions for the management:
The Executive Lounge is open M-F. Allegedly for business. But all 5 TV's have sports on. This is an executive lounge, please include CNBC or a business channel each morning. Five TV's of sports but none had the Thursday Night Football game or the Sunday Night Football game. This is a shortcoming that needs to be addressed. It's not customer focused. It's automatic pilot.
Lastly, why no Spa? Massage?

Great location with a convenient shuttle service from the airport. We stayed for only one night as we came in for a game at SoFi stadium. The Daily Grill was convenient and tasty for lunch, the Westin lounge was great for breakfast but not open in the evening the one night we were there. I’d suggest adding some more kid-friendly options for breakfast including cereal and milk. All the staff was super friendly and very nice, from the front desk to security (who helped unlock the safe in the room) to the folks working in the lounge and cafe. A couple of issues: (1) our room’s window was left ajar by previous guest and it was off center so almost impossible to close (my husband was able to fix it but not sure others would have been as handy), (2) the elevators were a mess - several were being repaired so it was difficult to get up/down during busy times. We walked up the stairs part of the way one night, but otherwise had to wait a long time to access the elevators and then had to put up with it stopping on every floor.

Please beware that the gym is not equipped with any video surveillance. I was in the gym on the evening of 1/13 and a man walked in with non-gym attire, walked straight to the bathroom, and then left (or so I thought). I looked up and he was exiting the bathroom again and he started walking toward me. I was on the treadmill and was startled because I thought he had left the gym. He proceeded to ask me how I was doing. I looked away and replied “okay” to which he replied something unintelligible and walked out. He had on street clothes not workout attire. I felt unsafe and began looking for security cameras in the gym but were unable to find any. I left and ran into security patrolling near the gym and explained the incident to security. Security walked back into the gym with me and confirmed that there are no security cameras in the gym. There’s one camera at the end of hallway at an adjacent hall near the gym. I understand you have to use your key card to access the gym. However, there are no additional security measures in place to ensure your safety can be monitored while you’re in the gym. I felt like that man’s goal was to engage in conversation with me so I could feel comfortable and let down my guard. He could’ve attacked me and there would have been no video evidence of the attack. As a woman, I trust my instincts and my instincts told me he was an unsafe person.

I immediately escalated this issue to a lady at the hotel front desk. An Asian man (who I think is one of the night manager’s because I’ve interacted with him before) came out from behind her and told me that security was already looking at the video to see if he could identify the man. That was the gist of the conversation.

No one at the front desk asked me my name, room number, or phone number to follow up with me regarding the incident or offered to walk me back to my room to assure my safety.

Because of this incident, I left the hotel shortly thereafter. I no longer felt safe and did not have any confidence that Westin staff would assure my safety for the duration of my stay. Please be aware of your surroundings when staying at this hotel. I also noticed that the elevators did not require a key to access the floors throughout the hotel, which is also a safety issue. In addition, there are a lot of homeless people near the hotel so please be aware of your surroundings at this hotel. If something does not feel right or you feel unsafe, leave!
