The biggest problem we had was finding it at night. The parking for check-in was an alley that was quite hard to find. The area has a different (scary) vibe at night, especially when you're driving around lost, so try to get good directions ahead of time and arrive during the day. There's no parking lot; you have to park... More

This is a great hotel. You can't be closer to the beach and Santa Monica is only a few minutes away either by bike or car. Unfortunately the hotel doesn't offer parking but the staff is very friendly and they inform you about where you can park for free at arrival. The rooms are big, like a mini apartment with... More

I stayed here with two friends for 9 days and we, almost, couldnt have been happier. The location was amazing.. right on the Beach! And with the rooftop terrasse with the outdoor Kitchen and grill, we couldnt have asked for a better spot. Few 100 yards from muscle beach and a few miles from Santa Monica pier - we had... More

Booked this room with QUEEN bed and extra bed for third adult. The bed was a double at best pushed hard against the wall (which you don't see in their pics) and the extra bed was a flip out chair! We were told when leaving that a roll-away bed "could" have been supplied for an extra 25$ per night -... More

And overpriced. Dirty windows, almost not transparent. Rooms are much smaller than on pictures. Only roof terrace is ok. Very strange why this place has such a high rating here, usually you can trust but not this time.

We booked this hotel last last minute: booked it at the airport of LA and half an hour after the booking confirmation, we were at the doorsteps of the hotel and was allowed to do an early check-in. The rooms are spacious!! We had a queen bed and a sofa bed with a fully equipped kitchen and a clean bathroom.... More

Pros: Location right on the boardwalk. Good value for money (for being Venice/LA). Well kept and clean. Large showers and good water pressure. Nice rooftop terrace. Cons: Practically impossible to find other parking than 35$/night (closes at 10pm), 450 yards away. AC in our room smelled moldy and there was a faint lingering smell of old cigarette smoke enough to... More

The rooftop deck here is amazing!!! It's better than Hotel Erwin because it's waaaay less crowded. I borderline don't even want to write that but it's true. Plus the staff is so chill. Especially the manager Mike. So chill and hilarious too if you get a chance to chat w/him. I highly recommend this place. #ComingFromALocal

I was very pleased that when I arrived early from a long flight the young lady Taylor ( I believe that's her name) Checked me in right away. The room was super cozy and quiet. After I caught up on some much needed rest, I went to the front desk to ask advice what to do in the Area. This... More

The Location is out of this world. The rooftop view was great. I do have to say travling all over the world, this was my favorite. The staff were all great. The girl with short blonde hair was so helpful and kind (Please thank her and tell her the little ones say hello). I will for certain be back and... More

Staying in Venice

Neighbourhood Profile
Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
