Good service. Room was spacious, good enough for us as we were only there for a couple of days. Only a good location if you were wanting to do anything within Los Angeles CBD, any other main tourist attractions are not close at all aside from Hollywood. The area is not too safe when walking out a few blocks, especially...

The hotel has a nice feel to it and tastefully decorated. The room was equally the same but better. Bed was comfortable in a nice roomy space. The cafe was open when we needed it to be. Location of hotel in Japanese historical area was a bonus. So many good places to eat. Also, it is located one block from...

This is a charming hotel in the middle of Little Tokyo. the staff is always helpful. They make me feel at home every time I stay here. I would highly recommend the hotel restaurant, Tamon. It is a quiet oasis in a busy city. The Bento Box is the best I have ever tasted in my travels! I will continue...

Great and modern hotel, with excellent multilingual staff, good breakfast buffet and very comfortable rooms. Hotels offer good shuttle service to airport, beach and nearby shopping mall. Old Torrance is nearby for a nice walk. Their fitness facility is super small, better of going out for a run.

One night in LA for Opera (Ahknaten.... very good) and looked for a moderately priced hotel not too far from Chandler Pavilion. Miyako was less expensive than the other similar hotels in the area. Hotel is in decent shape, soft furnishing are older and looking tired. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Kind of fun to be in the heart of...

Location is very convenient, right at Japan town. Also walking distance to MOCA. The staff is helpful and polite. The room is minimal but efficient, like many hotels in Japan, with automatic toilet - a plus.

Miyako is a great hotel for hanging out in Little Tokyo. It's not a Japanese themed hotel, but a real slice of life. In Japanese fashion, the rooms are immaculately clean with high quality furnishings, but a little less spacious than other "American" hotels. Rooms include a full-featured toilet popular in Japan. Staff was friendly and unobtrusive. There was a...

I stayed at this hotel for a conference. It was easy to get around the city by subway that was only a couple of blocks away. The rooms were nice and they have a heated toilet seat with a built in bidet. Had some really nice meals nearby.

Little Tokyo is a tiny pocket of Japan within one of the less desirable areas of Los Angeles, but the hotel is really convenient to AMTRAK's Union Station so it is a great base for a one or two night stay is you are connecting with rail travel. The immediate area is really interesting with a great mix of Japanese...

This hotel was clean and modern. Arrived from Australia at 6am so left bags at hotel to go sight seeing. This hotel is close to an unsafe area, so beware if traveling solo or going out at night. Hop on hop off bus is across the road which made sightseeing easy. Only a small cafe at hotel. Great for a...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
