Avoid this overrated, poorly managed nightmare. If you value your security and integrity, avoid this rather unpleasant charade!!! There were serious events at this hotel which required 100USD per hour security.. Which experienced 10USD per hour security. I would love a 5 minute conversation with the owner!! knowing, of course, this will never happen. Make a choice "The Standard"! Nightclub,...

We stayed in LA for 4 nights, as we were on our honey moon we got upgraded to a junior suite, although there was nothing 'junior' about it, it was a massive room/ living room with a very stylish huge bathroom. I loved the shower and getting ready every night in the lit mirror. The breakfast was good. The roof...

Okay, these folks understand good customer service. Starting from day one, they got me. So staying brand loyal to a hotel is key and they are now my go to when I am in LA. The staff is nice and understanding - no LA attitude - just great service. The sleep - it is the only place I can sleep...

We booked The Standard for a quick overnight trip for an event we were attending at LA Live. 1. Parking was very confusing but we somehow made our way to Valet. 2. Check In was awesome. We arrived a little early for check in, but we were offered an upgrade to their WOW Suite. While we waited for our upgraded...

I came here for business, I arrived at 7 AM - prior to my business meeting - to check in. I went thru the check in process but because my room was not yet ready they held my luggage. I arrived back at the hotel after my meeting at 7PM. I was given my luggage and the key to my...

I stayed here many years ago and it was better than fine. However, it is now rundown and everything really needs a refresh. I'm not sure if the elevators were broken but the wait for an elevator each time was ridiculous; the TV satellite signal is poor so the picture on the TV was all static; I "upgraded" my room...

Great roof terrace, rooms still funky , an oasis of chic in a pretty dull part of town. Having said that the rooms which were funky some years ago do need a makeover. Breakfast great, parking and taxis plentiful at rear Hotel seems to have an obsession with ping pong / wiff waff in the bar on the 2nd floor...

I have spent 5 nights in this hotel in Downtown LA, it's not a conventional and boring business hotel, this place has his own personality. Rooms are minimalistic in the furniture style and there is a glass wall between the room and the shower. The rooftop bar and pool is busy every day, there are parties even on weekdays, this...

I booked this hotel for a night as we were doing a road trip and had a night in LA. I picked it as I've stayed in the one in NYC and more important they take dogs and we had two. We arrived in the middle of the worst storm in 20 years. The staff was so helpful with luggage...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
