Noisy, walls paper thin, and weird homeless man living in the unit next door to me. He played his tv ALL night literally, and kept going in and out all night t see his mates on the street, so that for four nights i did not sleep at all. This made my whole experience there pretty bad.
Otherwise it wasnt a bad hotel...cleanish in the rooms, and good housekeeping service. The Indian proprietors were sort of friendly and sort of helpful but not going out of their way.
The pool was clean and nice.
But the noise al night and having zero sleep due to this one 'guest' made the whole experience sour for me.

We weren't sure what to expect in our first motel stay in the USA. Exceeded all our expectations. Immaculately clean, fresh towels every day, spacious and with a small fridge and microwave. Breakfast included - fairly basic but quite adequate to start off one's day. Staff were friendly and helpful. Only criticism, perhaps, is the sound proofing from the rooms and corridors is poor, viz. being woken up by guests having a major row at 3.15 am! Later we were told they had been ejected from the motel - well done the management. We would certainly come back. Highly recommended.

The Hollywood City Inn has a motel feel. Very good location, Metro station next corner, One Block off Hollywood Blvd. very close to many attractions and landmarks. Nice and peaceful at night although very central. The room was spacious, clean and comfy and has microwave and small fridge, bathroom was ok with basic toiletries in a simple style with no high-end details, and Continental breakfast was a plus. Wi-Fi was ok, pool area was nice and clean, free parking right outside the rooms but spots are limited at late nights specially weekends, Ralphs grocery store and ROSS nearby, plenty restaurants in walking distance. Amazing hotel, I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hollywood.

The room isn't too bad. Their website indicated they offer breakfast, but when I showed up for check-in, they no longer did. The neighborhood is sketchy and filthy. The parking lot is pretty tight and limited. The room was not too bad. Some drug activities were going on in the area, so some of the customers were renting their rooms. At night, there were some people talking too loud at the pool. You can walk to Hollywood Blvd in less than 10 minutes. There are several shops and places to eat nearby. Paramount Tours is only 5 miles from this hotel. Hollywood Forever cemetery is next to Paramount Tours. Hope this helps.

Having researched many hotels in Hollywood we wanted something that was close to the red metro line and attractions. I was unsure about this particular property when reading the reviews but for the price it was the most cost effective option. We are so glad that we did. The rooms were really spacious with fridge, coffee maker and microwave. The floors are wooden not carpet, coming out of the shower with wet feet there wasn’t a speck of dust or dirt on our soles. Yes the bathroom (toiletries are provided) could do with an upgrade but if you’re wanting 5* rooms you will be paying three times the cost for this hotel.
Breakfast is included is from 6:30-9:30, there is cereal, donuts, pastries, fresh fruit, juice, tea/coffee. The seating area isn’t huge but they do have trays to be able to carry this back to your room.
To get to Hollywood Boulevard (walk of fame, Chinese theatre, oscars theatre) turn left out of the hotel, and at the next main junction - where the Hollywood Western metro station is - turn left. You will be able to see the Hollywood sign on your right and After a short while the stars will start and just follow it down. Alternatively you can get to metro to Hollywood and highland which is the main hub of Hollywood Boulevard.
The metro will take you to universal studios in 10 minutes. Just buy a TAP card from the station machine and load it up.
You can also get to Santa Monica pier in approx 60 mins using the metro.
The owner was really lovely and he let us store our luggage on arrival and on the day of departure.

I am 39, I have grown up with the “review age’ j take time to write positive reviews and if I have a bad experience i leave no review at all. In over 20 years of lightly and rarely reviewing this is the singular necessary informative review I want to share with potential travelers like myself.
This place is a sham. So disgusting, the blankets and sheets were so gross, I saw the housekeeping drying the bedding on the black concrete of the streets of Los Angeles. So that made sense. The staff is extraordinarily rude and they tried to get more cash from me for my stay when they realized I have money. The room itself is so dirty I couldn’t find any comfort at all and their AC is really a fan. I switched my room once because it’s over 100 degrees in hollywood right now and realized they just don’t have AC. The one star is because the stint fridge worked, since I walked into a bathroom with stains in the toilet and hair in the tub.
Book anywhere else. I read through the reviews and I know for sure they have young adult children and instead of acknowledging me he was incensed by his desktop and he was on a popular computer hacker site so I’m convinced they’ve hacked their way to having decent reviews as this place made it possible for me to take time out of my life to save another human from making the same mistake as I did. Stay away! Peace and love to all!

I understand that it is not a 5 star, but the price does not justify the dirt.
The bathroom is in absurd conditions, so much so that it doesn't make you want to take a simple shower.
It's not that it's not very clean but it just hasn't been cleaned at all and has "strange" and old dirt.
The walls so thin you can hear snoring from the room next door.

Just finished our stay with two young kids. A bit disappointed that they don’t have cribs but we made do. Neat and clean and donuts and coffee included for breakfast each day. Approximately 30 minute walk to Chinese Theatre etc. Motel on a busy road so quieter room at back of motel if you’re a light sleeper, didn’t bother us though. Staff check us in early which was nice after long flight from Australia. Would I stay here again??? Probably not, but was fine if just need somewhere to sleep in ok location and affordable.

After a NIGHTMARE situation at the La Casa Del Rey in Los Angeles we ended up here at around 11pm after driving directly from Disneyland and dealing with the situation at the place we booked prior to our trip from Texas. The staff were all very friendly and very accommodating. The area outside was clean and well lit. It was very quiet and we felt safe even on the weekend. We were so grateful to find this place in such an emergency situation. They saved the last 3 days of our vacation!! Thank you Hollywood City Inn!! Also-pics are actual representation of property.

In advance of house sitting for our son, we needed a single night in a hotel/motel near Koreatown in Los Angeles. There are many choices—from luxurious to functional. By functional I mean a clean, comfortable place to stay for a short while. The Hollywood City Inn fit that bill. I start my search looking for places that have a high number of 3, 4, & 5 ratings relative to 1 & 2 ratings. The HCI made that cut, the price was reasonable, and its location was good. As I said, I was looking for function not luxury. The HCI, though a bit worn, was clean, comfortable, and reasonably priced. My 3 rating could easily been a 4, but the HCI is average—okay. Consider this a positive review.

Room 209 overlooked pool. Unfortunately, anyone loud passing your room at a late hour, could wake you up. Could see light around door, and walls rather thin; but still a good price for the location.
