You can't get any closer to the beach, it's literally outside the front door. Small clean and comfortable room with ocean view, great little roof deck and really lovely front patio with fire pit that is welcome in the evening. Reception staff were friendly and helpful and there are restaurants and shops one street over. Extra $20 a night for parking on property.

We stayed at Venice On The Beach Hotel on the last night of a Disney/Universal-packed vacation week. I was looking for a low-key spot on the beach within 20 minutes of LAX where we could wind down and this place did not disappoint. The room was clean, had cable TV and a safe wide enough for laptops, and offered plenty of towels for bath/beach. All three desk staff we met were super nice and professional. Ahead of time, I requested one of the hotel parking spots for our rental car, which worked out well because Venice is close quarters, and as a non-local without a guaranteed spot, I wouldn't have known where to park. Besides being right on the beach, the hotel is maybe a hundred yards from good restaurants (we loved Sushi Enya for dinner and Cow's End for breakfast), shops, and the scene on W. Washington Boulevard, but it was quiet through the night—surprisingly as it was a Friday/Saturday. Many thanks!

It’s all about location. The rooms are basic, small, if you like fancy hotels you’ll be disappointed. Think of it as a boarding house with an amazing location. Get food - sit on the rooftop enjoy the sunset. The rooms are small, the bathrooms are motel-quality. Clean, old, crammed. The beds are ok, the Internet is weak, rooms 17, 18 have no Internet at all. Too far away. No lobby. Nowhere to sit inside. If you know what you want it’s amazing. Otherwise it’s a run down small hotel in an inconvenient place with noise from the wave and lots of sand outside. Get the parking spot if you bring a car.

Multiple problems with this hotel. There was no heat in the room for 3 of the 5-night stay in Jan 2023. It was so cold at night we had to sleep in our clothes, and I had to buy socks to wear to bed after the first night. It was awful! When my daughter and I arrived at the hotel at 8:30 pm all doors into the hotel were locked. No answer to phones or emails. I was shocked, and thought I had to find another hotel. Twenty minutes later the front desk clerk arrived in a car saying that even though he was still on his dinner break he would help us. He was very rude. Hotel cleaning service was used only once because they knocked impatiently at my door multiple times waiting for me to leave the room. Terrible, terrible service all round. Upon check-out clerk said someone would contact me about a credit. I've called multiple times, sent emails....no replies.

The hotel looked nothing like the photos. It is very old and very overpriced. The only asset is the closeness of the beach. The bathroom was ancient. The lampshade was filthy and full of mold. The comforter was threadbare. A big disappointment.

The hotel is very clean. And in a fabulous location. And the people that work there are very very nice. But I give this hotel a one review because I did not have Internet in my room. And it was quite cold while I was there, because there was a massive rainstorm. And the heater didn’t work. So ultimately, I had to check out early by four days, and I still have not received any reimbursement.

Venice on the Beach is quite literally on the beach. The ground floor terrace is a great place to chill and poeple watch whislt the roof terrace is perfect for an early evening beer watching the sun go down. The room was adequate enough for the four of us, a little small for all of us plus luggage, but who cares. you are only in it to shower and sleep. Decent wifi, comfy beds, hot shower, fridge, air con. What more do you need. There are no food or drinks facilities but with ample shops, bars, cafes and restaurants very close by, you dont need it. the ice machine and filtered water machine was ideal to fill your bottles for the day. If you are driving I would book a parking spot in advance, but if you are not driving, an uber to LAX was $30. Uber to Hollywood boulevard $30 so not expensive. There is a bus but we did not work it out in time. The hotel itself is to the left of the main Venice beach madness in a much quieter part of the boardwalk near the pier and restaurants.

Good location, across the walkway from the beach and near many restaurants and bars on Washington However, thin walls and floors and oblivious loudly babbling guests made the stay unpleasant. On the positive side, there is a patio where you can sit and watch passersby. They offer an unsecured, uncertificated wifi but you can get the password for their secured wifi if you ask. Limited on site parking

If you stay at this quirky, old hotel, don’t expect anything posh, or even two-star. But the location is *****! The rooms are small, old, and kind of dirty. Everything was painted with an 8” brush - very sloppy. There is no elevator. There is no coffee. The ice machine works some times. The windows are dirty. On the plus side, beach towels are provided; the beach is steps off the lanai. The lanai is a great place to people-watch and sip the coffee that you must walk two blocks to secure. But restaurants, bars, grocery, ice-cream, and the pier are all right out your door. I overlook a lot to be able to hear the waves at night.
