We stayed in one of the ocean view rooms. Yes, the room was small but we had no complaints. I was surprised that despite facing the bike/pedestrian paths, there was little noise at night (it was a weeknight). The location is perfect, right on the beach and 2 blocks from Washington Blvd, which has many restaurants/bars. There are sitting areas in front and on the roof; the roof top view is great but they could really use some umbrellas up there for shade. Parking is an issue; we were unable to reserve parking ahead of time and ended up parking several blocks away. Overall, we had a very pleasant one night stay. Venice is not everyone's cup of tea, but if you are looking for a place to chill out while watching the waves and the people, this is a good place to do it.

First the plus--absolutely great location, right on the beach. A nice patio faces the beach as well. Now the negatives--room was small and run-down, only a desk chair and small table, no closet, one small bar of soap for the room. Bathroom had stained walls and grout. The window in the bathroom was off-track. The inner handle to the bathroom door came off every time we closed the door--we reported it to the front desk the first day, and they came over to check it out, but it was not fixed in the 3 days we were there. They didn't let us know there would be no housekeeping service. There was no in-room coffee maker or place to get coffee at the hotel. THERE WERE NO DRINKING GLASSES OR PLASTIC CUPS in the room. When I asked at the front desk for a plastic cup for water, I was told they don't supply cups! Really? How are you supposed to take medication? I understand not having glasses due to the pandemic, but how hard would it be to provide a plastic cup to your guests on request? At over $200/night including tax, I would NOT stay here again, despite the location. You can do better.

We were looking last minute and I read a couple of reviews that sounded good so I booked 3 nights. As we pulled into the alley behind the hotel, I thought I’m not staying here—the neighborhood looks rough. So I canceled and am out $600+. Now I’m reading some reviews that tell the real story. So I never actually stayed there. In my teens it would have been fine.

I booked this hotel last minute--I should have known it wouldn't be a good experience since it was the only hotel with rooms still open during spring break. I upgraded for an ocean view. Ugh. Well, there is an ocean view, but we also just faced the patio. This hotel was LOUD. I could hear people upstairs and on either side of us plus noise from the patio. I knew it was a bad sign when we walked into the room and the only thing sitting on the desk was a couple of pairs of ear plugs! The bedding looked clean but everything else was run down, stained, rusty--overall just not a nice place to stay. I am an experienced traveller, and there was a time in my life that I traveled the world and stayed in hostels because I was on a budget. This would have been a B- hostel experience. This is not a hotel you would stay in for a nice getaway when you are hoping to get rest and relax. I felt like I left there hoping I didn't bring home bedbugs and I couldn't wait to shower.

Everything about this stay was disappointing. The room was rundown with stained lampshades and dirty curtains (see photos), and fluorescent lighting. We weren’t provided any bottled water or water glasses, and no one was at the front desk to provide before bed. I ended up filling my water bottle in the shower. Our room was on the first floor facing the alley so we couldn’t open the curtains. The only positive was the location.
