Venice on the Beach is quite literally on the beach.

The ground floor terrace is a great place to chill and poeple watch whislt the roof terrace is perfect for an early evening beer watching the sun go down.

The room was adequate enough for the four of us, a little small for all of us plus luggage, but who cares. you are only in it to shower and sleep. Decent wifi, comfy beds, hot shower, fridge, air con. What more do you need. There are no food or drinks facilities but with ample shops, bars, cafes and restaurants very close by, you dont need it. the ice machine and filtered water machine was ideal to fill your bottles for the day.

If you are driving I would book a parking spot in advance, but if you are not driving, an uber to LAX was $30. Uber to Hollywood boulevard $30 so not expensive. There is a bus but we did not work it out in time.

The hotel itself is to the left of the main Venice beach madness in a much quieter part of the boardwalk near the pier and restaurants.

Good location, across the walkway from the beach and near many restaurants and bars on Washington

However, thin walls and floors and oblivious loudly babbling guests made the stay unpleasant.

On the positive side, there is a patio where you can sit and watch passersby.

They offer an unsecured, uncertificated wifi but you can get the password for their secured wifi if you ask.

Limited on site parking

The staff is very kind and helpful, but the facility requires maintenance. It’s a shame because the location is truly exceptional, but its potential is not being utilized. The terrace and the garden furniture, despite the known challenges due to the aggressiveness of the salt air given the seaside location, are very deteriorated. The oceanfront room is tiny and doesn’t even allow for a suitcase to be opened without obstructing movement around the bed. The bathroom door drags on the floor and doesn’t open properly, and the refrigerator is extremely noisy at night. The bathroom is very small, but the shower is large enough. All the taps and metal parts are rusty, making even clean areas seem dirty. It’s great that hot and cold water dispensers, a kettle, and a microwave are available for a quick breakfast (although nothing is provided, not even tea or instant coffee) if you buy something from outside. In conclusion, the advantage is the location; the disadvantages concern the facility, but it’s hard to find much better in that area.

Multiple problems with this hotel. There was no heat in the room for 3 of the 5-night stay in Jan 2023. It was so cold at night we had to sleep in our clothes, and I had to buy socks to wear to bed after the first night. It was awful! When my daughter and I arrived at the hotel at 8:30 pm all doors into the hotel were locked. No answer to phones or emails. I was shocked, and thought I had to find another hotel. Twenty minutes later the front desk clerk arrived in a car saying that even though he was still on his dinner break he would help us. He was very rude. Hotel cleaning service was used only once because they knocked impatiently at my door multiple times waiting for me to leave the room. Terrible, terrible service all round. Upon check-out clerk said someone would contact me about a credit. I've called multiple times, sent emails....no replies.

Everything about this stay was disappointing. The room was rundown with stained lampshades and dirty curtains (see photos), and fluorescent lighting. We weren’t provided any bottled water or water glasses, and no one was at the front desk to provide before bed. I ended up filling my water bottle in the shower. Our room was on the first floor facing the alley so we couldn’t open the curtains. The only positive was the location.

This hotel is small but it has everything for a great beach stay. It is on the beach near the pier. It has a rooftop bar, beautiful views and clean rooms complete with everything I needed for a perfect trip. I did not have a car and did not need one because there were many restaurants in walking distance on Abbot Kinney and it is also easy to get an Uber or taxi. Parking was not plentiful so I was glad I did not need to park a car.

We stayed in one of the ocean view rooms. Yes, the room was small but we had no complaints. I was surprised that despite facing the bike/pedestrian paths, there was little noise at night (it was a weeknight).

The location is perfect, right on the beach and 2 blocks from Washington Blvd, which has many restaurants/bars. There are sitting areas in front and on the roof; the roof top view is great but they could really use some umbrellas up there for shade.

Parking is an issue; we were unable to reserve parking ahead of time and ended up parking several blocks away.

Overall, we had a very pleasant one night stay. Venice is not everyone's cup of tea, but if you are looking for a place to chill out while watching the waves and the people, this is a good place to do it.

It’s all about location. The rooms are basic, small, if you like fancy hotels you’ll be disappointed. Think of it as a boarding house with an amazing location. Get food - sit on the rooftop enjoy the sunset.

The rooms are small, the bathrooms are motel-quality. Clean, old, crammed. The beds are ok, the Internet is weak, rooms 17, 18 have no Internet at all. Too far away.

No lobby. Nowhere to sit inside.
If you know what you want it’s amazing. Otherwise it’s a run down small hotel in an inconvenient place with noise from the wave and lots of sand outside.

Get the parking spot if you bring a car.

This is a simple little place that is 2 story bldg right on the beach. The location is the plus side. The parking is a mess !! The bldg contains 18 rooms and only accommodates 7 parking spots. If your lucky ! You get to reserve one of the 7 spots for $20. If not lucky ! You might as well Uber to the hotel from the Delmar marina ( parking lot 10 ) Good Luck !!

Venice on the beach.
This hotel was the worst disappointment of our 4 week holiday.
The first disappointment was the reception clerk saying that there was no parking space for our car on the hotel premises, so we had to park our car on the public road. This was told to us by the most uninterested and rude reception clerk, we have ever met. There is no elevator. Then we entered the room where we were attacked by a thick gloric smell that made me instantly sick for 2 days. Then we found the earplugs on the nightstand, that says enough on it own. Then we wanted to load our telephone / computer, where the sparks came out of the lose hanging socked from the wall. In the room only 2 sockets. Very dangerous! The bathroom was another disaster: grotty, dirty with cracked tiles and dirty corners. Therefore shower with your eyes closed and pray for the best. The internet-wifi is either very very slow or not working at all. The heating / airco is not functioning so we had to sleep in a very cold room. The safe was locked when we entered the room and was therefore not usable for us. No fresh towels are provided during the stay and the rooms are really noisy, you can hear the neighbors literally. All in all: a big disaster and a big NO-GO, avoid these hotel premises! Hopefully the bed bugs have not found this hotel.
You can go up to the reception desk with this list of malfunctions and they might solve 1, 2 or maybe 3. Though for the price this hotel charges, you want it to work all instantly.

I stayed in this hotel last September, there are buses around the corner, I think it's n.19 which takes you to Santa Monica. Otherwise Uber takes you eveywhere! The hotel is in a nice quiet area, away from the noise

I can't remember. I think they did, but you can email the hotel directly - venicebeachhotel at gmail (sorry, the post wouldn't allow me to add the direct email link). I would definitely recommend this place. It is very clean and such a wonderful location. We had a street side room and it was great. I think a few reviewers had said it was noisy, but we didn't notice that.
