Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.

I stayed there for three nights and then had to change hotels. While I was away from my room on several occasions someone entered my room and took some of my items. I had to file a police report. They also took food out of the supplied refrigerator and left it on the floor.

I booked this thru Booking.com and paid in advance for the room. This is not something I would do again, paying in full - site unseen! Yikes so that got me worried, followed up with reading some of the negative reviews I was expecting the worst but got a great room! The check

I just stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and I'm very surprised by the negative reviews I've just read, they don't reflect my experience at all. I found the rooms spacious, well-appointed and clean. The beds were very comfortable with nice linen, there were plenty of thick

The pleasure was all ours, Maura, and it’s the entire Luxe City Center Hotel staff who wishes to thank you for sharing your full experience of staying with us. We know that your review will be helpful for other travelers of the Downtown LA area who are looking for their own home base in the epicenter of the city’s sports, entertainment, and business districts. Besides our peerless address, it was wonderful to hear that all aspects of our property impressed, from the comfort of our modernly-appointed accommodations and welcoming hospitality of our staff to the culinary craftsmanship from our team at Nixo. Whether for business or leisure, we can’t wait to see you back through our doors for your next five-star stay!

We arrived for our 3 night stay late in the evening and it was clear the person at the desk was ready to go home. After getting checked in and up to the small, dated room we realized that there are zero food options after 1AM so we went exploring across the street at City Center

We thank you for taking the time to share your candid feedback regarding your abbreviated stay at our hotel. What you have described was truly surprising and we fully understand your frustration over both the quality of customer service and accommodations that you encountered during your visit. We’re following up with the appropriate members of our team to see where we failed and ensure that similar situations are not repeated. Please know that this is not the normal Luxe experience that we take great pride in providing to our guests, and we sincerely apologize to you. We hope that you will reconsider and give us a chance to restore your trust in the future. Should you wish to discuss any aspect of your recent visit personally, we encourage you to reach out and contact us directly at the hotel. We’d love to have the opportunity to make things right and welcome you through our doors for the quality of stay you expected and deserved.

Marijuana smell in the hallway that creeps into the room. They don't have a swimming pool, I regret not staying at the Standard. PROS: Great location to those who are there for events at the Staples Arena.

Thank you for sharing this review of your recent experience staying with us, Cris. We were so sorry to learn that our property fell short of exceeding your expectations. In regards to our amenities, while we do not have one on-site, we do offer complimentary access to the nearby Gold’s Gym for every guest which includes use of their indoor pool facilities. We must admit that most distressing was your concern over the smoke smell that you encountered throughout your stay. We assure you that our team members routinely check to prevent these issues, and it is regrettable that we were unable to identify the source during your stay. We do hope that you reached out and contacted us about its prevalence, and apologize that you and your family were impacted by the issue. We hope that upon your return to the Downtown LA area, we will have a chance to welcome you back and truly win you over by providing you with the Luxe experience you expected and deserved.
