While the Sheraton Gateway Los Angeles Hotel boasts a strategic location near LAX favored by numerous travelers, opinions on the hotel's value and amenities are mixed. Some guests have called out the hotel for high costs that don't match the level of service, pointing to slow shuttle and elevator services, as well as occasional lapses in housekeeping. Although the rooms' cleanliness and modernity receive praise from several guests, critiques of outdated decor and maintenance issues are not uncommon. The hotel's atmosphere also receives varied feedback, with some describing it as unwelcoming.

The Sheraton Gateway has become our favorite LAX area hotel for times that we arrive late or leave early. The rooms are all very nicely furnished and equipped and reasonably quiet even though the view allows us to see planes taking off and landing.
The staff is always very polite and helpful Juana and Maricruz at the front desk were great and Sharon and Juan in the Club Lounge were a pleasure to see each morning
One complaint we have is that between Thanksgiving and Christmas the hotel changed the offerings for the continental breakfast in the Club Lounge. Several items were eliminated which we found disappointing.
The shuttle service to the airport is very good but can get crowded and getting from the airport to the hotel can take forever - but this is not the hotel's fault.
We will definitely stay there again next time we arrive late or leave early.

Proximity to the airport (if this is what you need). The best thing is the restaurant service - really professional. Beds are big and comfy. Starbucks coffee a good addition to the hotel.
BUT This is not a European Sheraton, usually pretty high standard. Lacking lighting, the hotel is quite dark. Breakfast seems OK as it contains fresh fruit but nice croissants and real bread are made of plastic - for decoration only! so you are left with toasts. The pasta I ordered when we arrived was heated in a microwave!!! Unbelievable!

Our beds were comfy but our teenage children got a room with no closet to hang their clothes plus the bathroom doors were not closing, quite uncomfortable if two live in the same room. The location: as we traveled a lot to LA downtown and the ocean, I have found the location too far and expensive- one evening, due to the heavy traffic I paid 100 USD for a taxi from Rodeo Drive!

We hosted an event here at the Sheraton, everything was good, hope they could clean their ballroom carpets a little more often.

Other than that, I must say that during our event both Estela Estrada and Jose attended our coffee breaks were beyond excellent. Also, the staff who helped us set up the ballroom from the banquet team were extremely helpful with our requests.

Stayed here twice over the past year. Horrible experience in both. First, I booked 2 nights with them last year through a third party and when I checked in somehow it wasn't in their system despite me having the confirmation number. Only thing they said they were able to do was for me to book another room on the spot for an insane rate. It was very late and I decided not to bother looking for another hotel, ended paying 500$ for one night and had to hunt down the third party for a refund.

Decided to give them a second chance as the first time, it could be the third party website that messed up. This time, I booked in on their website. Came in to check in late into the night seeing theres 2 agents on the front desk; a long line of their Marriot Members and only 2 non members. They were only checking in Marriot Members (these people were just flooding in) and us and the other "non member" were just standing there a waiting for 20 minutes despite us coming in way before most of the members.

Got the room, tired and grumpy. Called the guest service for some toiletries, and below is our conversation:

Me: hi, are you able to bring up 2 sets of toothbrush and toothpaste to our room?
Agent: 2?
Me: 2 please
Agent: K *hangs up*
-A TOTAL OF 2 WORDS?? not sure if im grumpy or, but that is not great customer service in my opinion.

When the house keeping person came up to bring the toiletries, not a single word spoken, he just hand me the toothbrush and toothpaste and left.

Alright Sheraton *clap clap*

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights as a send off gift from Los Angeles. Our 2 month trip was cut short by the Corona Virus. We opted to stay here based on reviews of services and accommodation. Well where do I start, no room service, no room cleaning, no restaurant, all hotel shops shut, only the Star Bucks Coffee shop was open and only from 6am to 2pm daily. You had to order take out food delivered to you door if you wanted a hot meal, they did provide cut sandwiches from 5pm to 7 pm in the bar area. One wonders what room service is if its not take out food delivered to your room?

I spoke to the manager before departure about the lack of services and mentioned I could have stayed elsewhere for half the cost with the same lack of services only to be told tough luck.

The room was semi clean when we moved in, they are also pretty small, the internet worked which was the only saving grace. In a word not what we expected and certainly not somewhere I'd be seeking to stay at again.

You are a service and hospitality industry, perhaps you should let your staff know and read up what this means.

For the price you pay you don't even get enough shower gel for 2 people to take a proper shower. Also, the toilet paper is so far from the toilet it's like, "who designed this space?". A hotel room should be very accessible.

This is my favorite hotel near LAX, it is a modern, comfortable and, convenient hotel that also provides free van service from the airport. It’s only about 5 minutes away. I called the day before my arrival and spoke to Karina, on of the supervisors, with a special request as a Bonvoy member. She was able to assign me my favorite room that is non connecting and has a king size bed. I stay here fairly often and really appreciated her effort as it feels like coming home as I always would prefer to stay in the same room. She treats me like family, and is very caring. When I checked in at the front desk, I met Claudia, who is warm and friendly and you can tell she really cares about her customers, she is a star of service! I called to the guest service line and spoke to Merly, who is also super nice and had to few requested housekeeping items sent to my room in a matter of minutes. I must congratulate the hotel manager as they really pick great employees who give the best service ever, so nice to stay here. The rooms are modern, with the latest new decor. The beds are excellent for a restful nights sleep and the at the restaurant also really good.

My wife and I had a terrible experience at this hotel. We checked in and was assigned a room on the 3rd floor. Walked in and the room smelled sewage and was noisy from the connecting room. I asked the front desk to change and they assigned me another room on the 3rd. floor as well (310). Walked in and had the biggest surprise, we found about 4-5 noticeable stains (looks like blood but not sure) on the bed sheets. I immediately called housekeeping manager and I also asked for the hotel manager to come but he kept on saying he was very busy. Housekeeping manager tried to replace the sheets quickly but I insisted to have the hotel manager there as well. She kept on calling him but the answer was always busy helping customers, so finally I asked to replace the sheets to find a more shucking surprise. A big, huge stain (looks like urine) on the mattress itself. We called the Hotel managers for the 4th or 5th time and the answer was the same busy, so I decided to go down to find him chitchatting with 2 front desk reps. I was very upset and again asked him to come to the room to see the stains. We started at 8 PM and literally took him more than an hour and 45 minutes for him to show up and his reason was inspecting the new room (3rd) they were going to move us to.
When he saw the stain, looked like he was shucked but did not apologies but gave us a free night and free breakfast as if this is what we were after.
Next day I called the Hotel GM and gave him all the information about the stains and the manager’s behaviors. GM promised to call me back but never heard back from him again.

This is my go to hotel near LAX. Recently renovated, the rooms have great beds and easy access to the beach, airport, or freeways to explore LA.

The pool area is nice with Cabanas... the jacuzzi seems small for such a large hotel and has been crowded at times.

The resaurant is good with a good selection of California and Chinese cuisine.

I had a great experince with the staff. Of note, Estela was servicing the conference I was attending and went out of her way to make sure our table was taken care of. It's that level of service that makes me look forward to return visits here. I end up here for business and meetings about 8 times a year.

The front desk staff is helpful and the Starbucks crew remembered me even though it is usually 5-7 weeks between visits.

Downsides, only 1 washer, 1 dryer for the whole hotel... no microwaves in the room but 1 on like the 9th floor.

I got a great deal on this hotel (same price as a motel!) and was very pleased. It's close to LAX and the shuttle takes you where you need to go at LAX. Rooms were comfortable and not noisy at all, considering the location. We ordered breakfast to be delivered from IHop since the hotel breakfast was pricey. No problems getting it delivered. Beds were good, wifi strong. I would have liked to stay longer.

It closed in March of 2020 when the local stay at home orders went into effect (I was there). Their initial plan was to renovate the lounge and reopen but the General Manager at the time didn't feel there was enough business to warrant staffing it so it remains closed. A new GM just took over last month and he may have a different take on it possibly moving it from the 15th floor to the first floor to keep with the Marriott standard. I will be there in about 10 days and know more.
