Entrance is very nice and they have a great pool and cigar/smoke area, but the rooms are very old and in need of a major overhaul, bathrooms are very old and looks like they used Bath fitters to cover up the old shower tub, a lot of coats of paint that is bubbling up , possible mold and stains on...

Horrible. I'm not going to pretend to be a travel writer so I'll just list the facts and opinions: -The entire hotel is filthy. The rooms have scuff marks all over the walls, the carpets are stained, the elevators are disgustingly dirty with broken floor tiles. -Decor is depressing. Who chose these colors? Clearly not an interior design with any...

We just returned from spending 2 nights at the Sportsman's Lodge. Our stay was fine with no major complaints although the hotel itself is a little bit dated and has an odd vibe about it. Our room was clean although the toilet did not always flush properly and the bath/shower, which had just been painted was flaking paint everywhere. The...

Paper thin walls, to the point that ordinary conversation from the next room is like it's in your room, if their TV is on at low volume it blasts into your room. A nightmare. With most reviews of this place when it's not good I notice the hotel make their remarks about , they will address the problem. Well they...

Recently returned from here after a 5 night stay, the rooms were big and clean, the pool was adequate for what we needed. Some of the staff were hit or miss , could never get to see the manager, as we were woken up at 2.30 a.m as a film crew decended onto the car park with all the noise,...

Hello dee068, thank you for the feedback. We are very sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay. Occasionally we do have filming that takes place at the hotel but it is communicated that they must be very quiet and mindful of noise. If there is ever any issue with noise and the manager is informed they will...

This is a great place. The rooms are clean and comfortable, there's a beautiful outdoor pool and a great breakfast/lunch restaurant called Patio I think. Best of all, you are on a great stretch of Ventura in either direction for great restaurants, a Ralph's supermarket across the street and a bowling lanes and Jerry's deli right next door.

My husband and I had a very nice stay at the Sportsmen's Lodge last month. The pool facing rooms are fabulous and big and have a nice balcony overlooking the gorgeous pool. The vibe is super retro and the location is perfect for tourists heading to Universal or Hollywood, etc. We couldn't believe how delicious the breakfast burrito and egg...

Many people have cited that the photos online make the rooms look much nicer than they actually are. Those people are 100% correct. The rooms provide you with the bare minimum. A chair, a plastic "desk table" and a bed with no headboard. The walls in our room had the paint peeling off of them. For nearly $200 a night...

Originally I booked the BLVD Hotel & Suites, but it was so awful I decided to book the Sportsmen's Lodge Hotel. Two big mistakes in one night. When we arrived at the Sportsmen Lodge Hotel excuse my language, but I immediately knew I had _______ up! The pictures totally lied and are photoshopped, brighten, and retouched beyond. The hotel doesn't...

2nd time staying in this hotel - once prior to it's renovation and one post renovation. The customer service from start to finish was great - very welcoming and nice to our family who raided their taffy bowl. The hotel itself is very well done, clean, and well appointed. We didn't use the restaurant but we did visit the fire...
