The last time I went to Zaca lake, it was very cold outside, and it was also raining. However, the cabins were pretty warm, and there was also plenty of hot water. Even though it was the middle of winter, the cabins were comfortable. Also, even at night it is very easy to see outside, and the roads are very...

I have been to Zaca Lake 3 times over the past 3 years with a youth group from my church and we always have a great time. The grounds are very well-kept and I've always slept comfortably and soundly.

I've been to Zaca Lake on various occasions. Countless times with the St. Robert Bellarmine Confirmation program. Each year in February their retreats are held out there. This place is a hidden beauty. It is nestled back into the Santa Ynez mountains. You would never know such a beautiful place existed. Upon arrive to Zaca Lake, you instantly feel a...

Zaca Lake. . .It is one of my favorite places in the world. I first went there with my church group and the atmosphere added to the magic of the church retreat. I went again this passed Feb. as a leader on that retreat. The cabins were clean, and the showers were hot. We had to bring in our own...

This place has gone from a nice place to visit to one of the worst places to visit in just a few years. I'm not sure if there has been an ownership change but something went wrong. Rooms dirty, showers dirty, would be better off pitching a tent and sleeping by the lake somewhere else. I should have taken pictures...

I really hate writing this because this was one of my favorite places (I'd come every year), but the current management ran it into the ground and they need to know it. Everyone who remembers how it used to be needs to be warned. When we got there, we went for a quick dip in the lake. The next half...

The accommodations were not luxurious, but the cabins were quite comfortable and clean-lovely large and well heated bathroom. The area was as beautiful and special as I remembered it from 20 years ago. The staff is continuously upgrading and renovating as funding allows and were quite responsive to our needs. We definitely plan on returning.

i have never bothered to write a review for TripiAdvisor but this place is ripping people off. I had been to Zaca Lake Resort about 5 years and loved it. The setting was beautiful and I was excited to go back. But now this place has gone so far downhill that it is not worth going back to until they...

Do not stay here if you want any value for money. We spent $300 on a cabin with a kitchen, to find it dirty, inside and out, and to discover mice staying with us. They were under the stove, but came out happily and ate on the counter while we were there. There were fresh droppings on one of the...

We booked Cabin #18 at Zaca Lake to stay two nights because we love nature and are campers at heart. We do, however, have two small children (aged 3 and 6) so we require some comforts until they are bigger...like heat and comfortable beds. Unfortunately, these were hard to come by. Our cabin was dingy and run down and one...

“If you are staying in the Lodge and will be sharing a room with multiple people, be sure that if you have a bed with a slatted platform that the slats are all straight and perpendicular to the frame. If they shift, even a little, and you are an adult of average weight, the slats will slide and the platform will collapse. I checked our room for bedbugs, and I didn't find any in the room we slept in in the Lodge (it was the one closest to the kitchen). The door to that room doesn't properly close, so you have to barricade it or keep it open because if it's a windy night, the door will blow open and shut all night long. And if your roommates are snorers, I recommend you bring an ample supply of ear plugs.”
