The location of this hotel is exceptional, overlooking the ocean in the center of Malibu. You can not be any closer to the water as almost all the rooms are essentially hanging right over it. The setup is motel-style with outdoor entrances to each room, but this adds to the casual but upscale vibe. The lobby is small but nice,...

We paid nearly $1000 a night for what the web site billed a 900 s ft king corner room. It was none of those things. Usable size approx 300 s ft. On end of hotel but NOT a corner exposure - window on one side. And, based on the floor plan, no larger than non-King rooms. If you want to...

What an upgrade! Hadn't been to this hotel in years and the renovation is top notch and takes full advantage of the Malibu ocean front property. The standard ocean front queen room is compact and was so well appointed it felt spacious ( and my husband is 6'7" ) we LOVED that the bed faces the ocean! The view is...

What more can I say that my title doesn't say? The hotel's location is what one is paying for (have you seen the price of real estate in these parts?) but it is worth every penny. The room was a good size and super comfortable, the staff were all friendly but very obliging, willing and polished and the food in...

This is a pricey, but fantastic hotel, right next to the ocean. The rooms are great and they have a balcony overlooking the beach/ocean. The layout of the bathrooms are the best I have ever seen. If you can afford this, go!

This place is right on the beach. Whilst it is not cheap, it is very good. The food and service are excellent. Walking from there along the beach is a near perfect experience. There is no gym or pool there however one can have complimentary access to a good gym across the road.

A small boutique hotel, with well appointed (although small) rooms. Great views of the ocean. The restaurant is right on the beach will plenty of sunshine, views, and adjustable umbrellas. The beach area is small, but the lounges are comfortable and beach service is spectacular

We had a great stay at the hotel. It is a great location located right on the water. Checkin is in a small room with delicious chocolate chip cookies. Got into the room at about 3 and the room was beautiful. Fireplace in room with a small balcony overlooking the ocean and the Malibu Pier. Bed was very comfortable and...

The hotel is beautiful, how could it not be? Its Malibu and on the water. The views were gorgeous and loved spending time on the balcony overlooking the pier. The room was lovely and comfortable, really nice accommodations. However, I just didn't feel like I was staying in a luxury hotel worthy of the price. Paint chipped, toilet seat worn,...

Staying in Malibu

Neighbourhood Profile
Malibu
The Malibu coastline is like a chameleon. In some areas it resembles the French Riviera with its lush, green hillsides descending into crescent-shaped shorelines. In others, it feels 100% Southern Californian with beaches wide and flat as a football field, and often crowded with beach-goers lounging on towels and playing volleyball. Other coastlines still feel secluded, tucked under tall cliffs and dotted with stunning rock formations. In certain areas, where the ocean waves are just right, surfers can be seen bobbing in the water. Up in the mountains to the east hikers take in truly stunning views of the ocean and the sprawling Los Angeles landscape. And along Pacific Coast Highway, restaurants are filled with visitors and locals from all walks of life. Stumble into the right place at the right time, and you’ll likely encounter a celebrity.
