We stayed at the Jolly Roger hotel on a recent trip to LA. The hotel is in a good location and close to Del Ray marina. It's a budget hotel but is well present and our room had good facilities. Breakfast was included and was a continental type breakfast which was ok. The staff there were great and the hotel...

The guys who run the front office are great. If you looking for a five star Hotel this is not the place you want to stay. Pack up your designer luggage and go to Santa Monica, but you want to stay in Venice, have clean room, inexpensive price for a night's stay then stay at the Jolly Roger. It's minutes...

Great budget hotel near Venice Beach. Lot of eating places near by. Rooms come with microwave and fridge and give you plenty of room. They offer a continental breakfast in the courtyard which consists of bagels, toast, waffles, yogurt, fruit, cereal, juice and coffee. Staff is real friendly and willing to give tips of local places. I would definitely stay...

This was our last stop after travelling 5 weeks across America, i wouldn't class this place as a hotel but rather a motel. It was clean, convenient and had free parking. The complimentary breakfast was by far the best we had (out of all the other motels we stayed in along the way) our room was quiet and comfortable. Would...

Booked this place based on a fair customer rating but was quite surprised at how terrible it was for the price that we paid. The front desk person was not very friendly. He showed us to our room which was in a building across the street facing an alley. Our room left a lot to be desired, even for a...

We stayed here on the first leg of our Cali road trip . After picking up a muscle car at LAX almost killing a few cyclists on route we decided to look for somewhere to stay ( not the simplest thing at half 10 at night) after several failed attempts our last hope was the jolly roger and it didn't...

Staying in Venice

Neighbourhood Profile
Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
