We stayed here three nights and the hotel room was in nice condition, but it had a funny smell. There was no air freshener scent but it had maybe a chemical smell that lingered our entire stay.
The hotel staff was very nice and the pool was clean and warm. I do not like that they only offer valet parking, which for $50/night I parked elsewhere. Is the price excessive, yes but the main reason I refuse to valet is I despise having to wait for the car.
The location was nice and there is a Cheesecake Factory and Mother's Beach with a great kids playground about 10 minutes walk away. Would we stay here again? Maybe.

A perfect spot for 3 days of business at Marina del Rey. A mere 20-30 minutes LA traffic dependent from LAX is perfect although check Uber prices as the short journey was north of $50. Room 232 afforded excellent views across the marina with the room being excellently apportioned. Internet speed was good and the desk area with marina views gave that added touch. Downstairs bar / restaurant has inside / outside (with heaters) seating and the tapas style menu was ideal with a variety of choice. A snack corner (avec vin rouge) cum tuck shop was bizarrely placed but a necessity to the left of reception, purchases added to your overall bill. A return? Yes.

My Architectural Engineering daughter says there should be some sound-absorbing material boards applied to the top of the walls in the lobby and breakfast area. Any noise is amplified. Almost sounds like a noisy bar. Add outside noise. We like the European shower with a half glass wall BUT make sure you put a towel on the floor to catch any water splash. Location is the main advantage of the hotel, certainly not the cost including parking.

Very nice Courtyard Marriott. I am giving this five starts because of the professional and kind front desk employees. They went above and beyond to help me . I appreciated that they checked me into my room very early so that my husband could work. They even helped with random requests like finding a regular coffee mug for me. We used the workout room and sat at the pool. Both are great. Valet Parking is $49 a night which is a lot but the valets get your car fast. The lobby is nice. Drinks are expensive at the hotel bar but you can also buy your own wine and sit at one of the lobby couches not attached to the restaurant. The onsite laundry is also helpful.
It would be great if there was coffee in the lobby. There is a coffee maker in the room but it's not a Keurig and wasn't super clean. I'm picky about coffee so I brought some VIA and heated up some water in the microwave. There is a coffee shop in the lobby that's open from about 6:30 to 11. You can walk to Venice Beach in about 15 minutes.

The hotel itself is ok but there are few negative points : room have no safe and front desk insists that they can offer their safe just behind the entrance front desk 😳wired…. . There is No concierge at all so you are left alone for any kind of booking or so , it’s a matter of fact if you need to make a restaurant reservation you have to do it by yourself or any other kind of infos or reservation . Prices for everything in the hotel are insane , if you rent a car and you park overnight with hotel valet it costs you almost like the car rental itself ( 49$ + tip ) . At the hotel restaurant atmosphere is very nice and people are nice but prices are out of this world , a glass of so so wine is 21$ 😳 ( you buy a very very good bottle for this price and not a glass ! Food is excellent but portions are small ( an entree of fish is 46$ ! ….to expensive for the quantity) . Breakfast is definitely below any standard , looks like one of this cheap French budget chain with waiters barely speaking English and totally lacking of professionalism, it’s more help yourself and do it yourself .

My company has used this hotel as our default option in LA for many years, because it is close to our office. Therefore I have stayed there hundreds of nights and I have spend many nights there myself.
In March 2024 I arrived in the evening after a long international flight, but I had not brought my physical credit card. I had thought that I can use one of the credit cards in my digital wallet.
I was told that I cannot check in without a physical card. I asked if I could talk to the hotel manager, who confirmed to me, that this is not the problem of the hotel, and that I will not be allowed to stay without a physical card. I offered $1,000 in cash as deposit and had my passport as ID, and assured that after the first night I could arrange someone from my company to come with a credit card.
I only got the repeated answer that a physical credit card is required according to their policy.
In the end a very kind person, who had just checked-in, offered his personal card, and I was finally given my room key. Without him I would have had to search for a different place to stay in the middle of the night.
The management of the hotel completely did not care about my situation and did not to try to find a solution. I was very disappointed and we have arranged to appoint a different hotel as the default option in Los Angeles for our group.

It pains me to write this as a neighbor and customer that frequented brizo often. A beautiful hotel impacted with terrible customer service
My mother came out to visit us for the birth of our baby last month. Rather than stay with us, she decided to stay at the hotel.
Her stay was unfortunately during one of the rain storms and she was awoken to a legit flood in her room with water coming from the ceiling. Her clothes and bag were soaked and she vacated the room at 0520 in the morning. When she told the front desk, they said they were sending someone right up. She had to use the laundry machines as her clothes were soaked and had stains from the ceiling. She sat in the lobby waiting. Not only did she never get back in her room, an email offering a few Marriott points was their response. This is disgusting and unacceptable and you lost loyal customers and neighbors that have spent tens of thousands of dollars since your opening.

Subpar cleannesses, being with kids food ends up on the floor, we came back after a long day only to find the floors dirty while the room was serviced (Housekeeping came in).
We also requested several items for the room and it’s been over an hour that we haven’t received them. I honestly regret staying here and will see if I can change the rest of my stay

A delightful stay at a well-maintained waterfront hotel! The welcoming lobby sets the tone for a smooth check-in experience, with staff readily providing information about amenities and local attractions. While slightly removed from other areas, the picturesque bayside walk makes the distance worthwhile. The dining room is pleasant, the bar lively, and the rooms offer all the essentials, though could benefit from better bathroom lighting. For the best views, request a bay-facing room. A pet-friendly property with a safe surrounding area.
Key points:
Great location on the bay: The hotel's prime waterfront position provides stunning views and a lovely walking area.
Positive check-in experience: Friendly staff and efficient check-in process.
Well-maintained rooms: Basic amenities are provided, with spacious showers.
Pet-friendly: Dedicated pet walking area available on site.
Scenic walk: Although slightly isolated, the bayside walk is highly recommended.
Dining options: Nice dining area with a lively bar atmosphere.
Best view rooms: Request a bay view for the optimal experience.
Overall, I'd definitely recommend this hotel to all of my friends. A picture is worth 1000 words, so enjoy!

We stayed here several nights as part of an extensive LA vacation. I choose it largely for it's location right on a marina, it's walking distance to Venice Beach, canals and even Santa Monica if you don't mind hoofing it. It's also a good choice for day trips up to Malibu. I almost didn't choose it because of the pricey $45 US a day valet fee (even the Sheraton Univeral was only $32). But there's ample free street parking only a block away. We parked on the street for 4 nights and never had an issue.
The hotel itself is a Courtyard in name only, this looks nothing like the brand's properties normally do. It's very upscale with a large lobby, a coffee bar, a restaurant and a roof top bar.
We had a room with a partial ocean view. It was a two queen room and felt quite spacious. The bathroom was quite large large and had a great walk in glass shower. We also appreciated and used the fridge and microwave (there's a Trader Joe's a couple of miles away). I would have loved a balcony room but they're rare, definitely get one if you can. That said, there was a sliding glass door that opened so we almost had the balcony vibe and the views of the marina are gorgeous. IT was also pretty cool hearing the distant barking of the sea lions. The room is very simplistic, maybe a little too much for my taste but by no means a deal breaker.
We didn't use the pool but it looked nice although a bit small considering it's shared with the Residence Inn as well (I imagine in the warmer months it would be packed). We were disappointed there was no hot tub.
We ate at the restaurant, Brizo for brunch one day (begins at 10 am weekends only). I loved the deck overlooking the marina and my food but the service was spotty. We also grabbed coffees and pastries from "Sam's Coffee Call" one morning. The coffee was only so-so, especially for the price and the service was pretty bad there too.
I think the location, the niceness of the rooms and the great front desk staff warrants 5 stars. My only cons were:
That overpriced parking No outdoor space to hang out other than the bar and restaurant. Courtyards usually have a nice outdoor Area to chill (hence the name). It would be nice if there was an area with fire pits that guests could enjoy the views without eating or drinking.. They need to work on their service in the eating areas
That said those cons aren't huge and there are lots of eating options close by. I recommend leaving the car and walking around, there's also an abundance of electric scooter shares in the area if you get tired
