Staying in a secluded place surrounded by trees was wonderful! We felt at home as soon as we walked in. They were really nice to accommodate a very late arrival time. We had a delicious and abundant breakfast while we were watching humming birds and dears through the window; they had no problem with dietary restrictions. The bed was really... More

Very comfortable accommodation, with full use of a large house. It was some way from Yosemite, and so we left before the 8.30 breakfast, but we had full access to the kitchen to make our own breakfast and snacks. It was equidistant from the west and south entrances to Yosemite and so good for a loop drive.

Hidden in the forest, Highland House was a perfect stay after a long day in Yosemite. A rustic, cosy house with only a few rooms, where guests may gather in the living or game room for chatting, reading etc. The breakfast was a real treat. Thank you!

We spent 2 nights at this hotel during a California road trip in July, and we loved our time at the house. The house is situated in the Sierra National Forest, close to the south-west edge of Yosemite National Park, and about 15 minutes from the diminutive town of Mariposa, Yet it felt that we were in the middle of... We spent two nights here on our route from Las Vegas to Napa, as a base for Yosemite, which is about 40 minutes drive away. As a side note, if coming from Vegas, 100% go across the Tioga pass, which is stunning. The hospitality of our host, Mike, and the lady that cooked the lovely breakfast was exceptional and warm... When visiting Yosemite, we stayed in this Bed and Breakfast. Very nice with a great breakfast, Our room had a fireplace, and the grounds were outstanding. Beautiful cottage. The host was very nice, and a great cook. Would definitely stay there again.

We had two nights at Highland House and felt just like home. The host Mike was genuinely nice and warm. Our rental car had such annoying rattle noise so when we asked for some strong tape/soft sponge to hold the bonnet down tightly Mike was not only providing the stuff but also assisted. 1) Location - about 40 minutes to... The house is lovely, spacious, and inviting and the property is so convenient to Yosemite National Park. I would love to go back and spend more time hiking and exploring the beautiful surroundings. Every need is considered and the hosts, Alex and Mike are very friendly, fun, and conversational. I felt immediately at home! Also, Sadie the pet lab pup,... More

We got a good deal to stay at this place from booking.com and hadn't really done much research into this place at all. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice it was! The instructions on how to get there are very accurate and it was easy to find during the day - it is in a very "forest" type area... More

Let me start by saying this is probably one of the friendliest and most hospitable places we have stayed in in the states. Since despite the none cancellation policy the owner, his family and the staff couldn't be more obliging and the food and facilities are wonderful; we had a great stay and I would recommend it to anyone.
