On our first trip to beautiful Mendocino my family and I stayed in the West Cottage within the Cabrillo Lighthouse National Park. It was such a unique and special lodging experience! If you love history, the outdoors, and having autonomy to cook and entertain in your own home, the Point Cabrillo Light Station satisfies all of these requirements for a...

I understood this was not going to be a deluxe room at a glamorous resort. Funky was OK. But this was mind-boggling. After getting out of the car we immediately noticed workman repairing a cottage directly in front of us. One guy, taking a break, asked if we were staying there, then cautioned that "it would be noisy" until they...

Shhhh, don't tell! We stayed at the West Cottage at Pt Cabrillo for a night and will plan on returning for a longer stay next time! Terry at the Mendocino Coastal Rental Agency was super helpful over the phone and terrific in person once we arrived in Mendocino. The cottage is a large one bedroom with a large bathroom. It...

I would never have thought of staying here, but my sister found this for me! We were coming to Mendocino for her wedding and because we had enough people to share the house, it was really quite reasonably priced, as well. It was very close to the Casper Community Center, where her wedding took place, and a very unique and...

The house .....a beautifully furnished and maintained piece of history, complete with all the modern comforts. The surrounding nature preserve.....amazing venue for walking, relaxing, watching the sea and the land. The service.........Terry at the rental office so welcoming, and helpful. Can't recommend highly enough!

\We stayed for two nights and three days in the West cottage. I almost never give five stars but I do for this place. If you read the older reviews, you’ll hear about an innkeeper, but that was from 2007 - 2009. Now It is run by an excellent vacation rental company, so you pick up your keys in Mendocino....

Point Cabrillo Lightkeeper's House This large and comfortable home offers a great alternative to the standard vacation rental or BnB--particularly for a large family or several couples. Each of the four bedrooms has its own modern bath with shower. Books and new magazines everywhere. New flat screen television and stereo system are available with the multitudes of loaner DVDs--but who...

We booked the West Cottage and had a delightful evening there. The cottages appear tiny from the outside but were actually very spacious inside. There was a fridge and microwave so we did not need to go into town for dinner or breakfast. We took both sunset and sunrise hikes and the views were spectacular. What a truly delightful place...

I booked the West Cottage for a romantic anniversary getaway for later this year. Although I haven't enjoyed my stay yet, I had such a great experience with Terry at the Mendocino Coast Reservations property management that I just had to post a compliment. She was very knowledgeable about the property and had a lot of good tips for a...

An absolutely top notch place to stay, relax and enjoy all that nature on the North Coast of California has to offer. Great food, drink and shop-hopping in the town of Mendocino = art colony and wine mecca. Nearby walking trails and interesting beaches and a nice wreck dive is also available for the water hounds.

“The lighthouse light sweeps the landscape every 10 seconds. The rooms overlooking the lighthouse have blackout shades....but you may want to choose either bedroom just to the right at the top of the stairs to avoid direct beams. All rooms are quiet and have plenty of windows, but the west and south east facing rooms have a view of the ocean.”

“West Cottage does allow pets, East Cottage does not. We did not have a pet nor did we notice any pet smells, etc. The larger 4 bedroom house is also for rent for larger parties and later this summer the 3 bedroom, former Asst. Lighthouse Keeper's house will be available also.”
