Just got back from a wonderful weekend at the Alegria. We stayed in the Village Farm Retreat, which is just up the hill from the main office. It was great for us because it had a kitchenette. Everything was comfortable and clean. The beach and gardens were beautiful and the main building is lovely and historic. Innkeepers were so sweet... More

We stayed here in March with our 2 year old daughter. The staff was delightful, the breakfast scrumptious, and the accommodations cozy and unique. We stayed in the Driftwood cottage. Our daughter had a blast playing in the loft, and the kitchen was nice to have; we stayed in one evening and cooked dinner. We also enjoyed the private path... More

We happened upon this wonderful B&B by accident - on our Northern Californian road trip, we arrived in Mendocino. Tourist office pointed us to the Alegria. It has everything to provide you with a magical stay. We so enjoyed sitting on the terrace looking at the Pacific Ocean. So special. Fabulous hospitality.

My husband, my 4yo daughter and I had a wonderful stay in Cove Cottage. We had initially booked the Pacific Suite and an inn keeper kindly called me to let me know that young children were not allowed because of the second floor balcony. The view from Cove Cottage was beautiful! We could see the beach and the garden at... More

The small cottage we stay in is comfortable and likely as accessible as they have available. It has a partial ocean view from its lovely back porch – the main house has a beautiful view & rocking chairs set out, as well as a (steep) path down to the beach. Nice hot tub, excellent breakfast (my spouse is gluten free... More

First of all, the owners couldn't be nicer. They are personable and go the extra mile to make sure you enjoy your stay both there and in Mendocino. They provide an exceptional breakfast. We had the Sea Breeze room and the view from the deck was lovely. The inn is the only one with a clear view of the water,... More

Eric, Elaine, and Tovi (sp?), were such great hosts. I must say the pictures on their site don't reflect how much better it looks in person! The first thing I noticed that made it special, they had a great acoustic guitar in the lobby for guest to play, never seen that before, what a great touch. We rented both rooms... More

My husband and I stayed here for a night while traveling for our honeymoon. The entire experience was fantastic. The staff is incredibly warm and friendly and the owners are lovely. The rooms are exactly as pictured and the private beach entrance is breath taking. Breakfast was amazing and we enjoyed talking to the owner while he served us. They... More

If you visit Mendocino and stay with Eric and Elaine at the Algeria Inn you probably won't want to leave. The atmosphere of the place is relaxing and laid back, the breakfasts are heavenly and there is easy access to the beach. There is free wifi and a hot tub on one of the patios if you feel like a... Alegria is the agent for the very isolated sea side 'Dolphin' cottage outside of town. To really 'get away' in a laid back place like Mendocino, you go here. The ocean pounds just outside the front door and when a good sea is running the blow hole in the adjacent cliffs goes off like a cannon. At a good low... More
