Loved it. My husband and I were turned away from National Parks due to the government shutdown. Mendocino was as good as or better than any national park .. seriously. We are meat eaters, but the onsite vegan restaurant ( we ate 3 meals in 2 days) made me want to become a vegan. We took advantage of the free...

Thank you for coming such a long way to stay with us here on the coast! So sorry your original plans didn't work out, but it's great to hear you enjoyed your time in Mendocino and at the Inn :) We hope to welcome you back someday. All our best.

We love this place. It is beautiful and welcoming. In fact, we usually do not leave once we arrive with our dogs...well, poodles.Well behaved dogs are allowed in the lobby where you can request your meals to be served. The restaurant, Raven, is vegan. We are not, but the food is so delicious that we prefer to eat there. Note that eggs...

Thank you so much for writing! We just love welcoming your returner back again, and again. So much fun to see familiar faces here. Just a quick update on the breakfast: Ravens' has gone 100% vegan, so we no longer have eggs or dairy available. However, there are lots of palate-pleasing alternatives :) Thanks again for sharing your experience with...

Mendocino is a magical place to visit, made even more so by a stay at Stanford by the Sea. Llamas in the front yard, kayaks awaiting for one down by the river. Superb rooms and overall furnishings, a lovely indoor pool sauna area for those misty Northern California mornings. Just a great place. We love the fire in the room..................

My husband and I recently enjoyed 5 fabulous nights at this amazing inn which is even more lovely than the beautiful pictures on line! Our expectations were exceeded in every way! We loved the gorgeous gardens and beautiful views, including the sunsets, ocean and stars right from our room, which was truly cozy and romantic with wood burning fireplace and...

Most definitely one of the highlights of our recent 2 week road trip was a 4 night stay at the Stanford Inn. We stayed in one of the Big River Executive King Rooms second floor, and it was perfect. Great view of the ocean and the grounds from a spacious balcony. Loved the real wood burning fireplace and the ample...

We spent 3 days and the room was very nice. Wood burning fireplace was great every night! The reservations did not get the correct room and the staff id their best to accommodate. The pool and hot tub is nice as well. Even thought the place was full on the weekend, we had both to ourselves every time we used them....

Perhaps I expected too much, but when one pays close to $300 per night it should have been better. 1) The exhaust fan in the bathroom was very noisy and there was no way to turn it off without the light also being off. 2) Bathroom had an foul odor 3) Room had no a/c so the only way to...

We are very sad to read this. We understand that a loud bathroom fan can be unsettling and for this reason, we have just recently changed it to a much quieter version. We apologize for the inconvenience, and wish we had caught it sooner. I am not sure what odor there could have been, but our staff would have addressed...

This is a real jewel. The atmosphere here is that 'secluded by the sea' feeling but woodsy also. The in house restaurant is excellent vegan breakfast and dinner. Pets are allowed and encouraged which creates a very nice feeling. They have a very large area to relax around the wood burning fireplace which of course creates a wonderful scent of...

The grounds and accomodations were very nice. Upscale rustic knotty pine, nice fireplace, spacious bath, comfy bed. lingering smoke odor from fireplace usage. My only issue (unexpected surprise) is the total vegan restaurant that did not have any apparent options for non vegan. This I blame on myself, for not reading the information closely on the website. We had breakfast...

One stop on a road trip through California. The staff was sincerely friendly. The resort and grounds were beautiful. Such a relaxing 2 days. Enjoyed the jacuzzi, in room fireplace, and complimentary bike rentals. Delicious breakfast is included. Wish we could have stayed longer.
