Our recent stay at the Hill House was fairly good with a few exceptions. The bed and pillows in our room were very uncomfortable and gave me a neck ache. The building could use some much needed maintenance as the salt air and wear and tear are apparently taking their toll. We had an ocean view room with balcony and...

Grounds and location are nice but the Inn needs some T.L.C. because of the location and area it's not going to happen because they can get top dollar without any improvements. The breakfast was good ,nice comfy dining room cozy fireplace. Rooms could use new beds ,mattresses ,linen ,and Bedspreads.

I stayed 2 nights with a good friend and we both had the best, quiet, and restful sleep ever! I was glad I paid a little extra for the balcony room with a great ocean view. The room was large with extra places to sit. The decor matches the antiques in the room, like from the early 1900's. The faux...

We enjoy hearing that our peaceful and beautiful property was just the ticket for a relaxing stay. Mendocino is a wonderful place to experience that "down home" welcoming feeling that the staff members that we hire provide. These are not actors but real caring folks that truly care about our guests.

Late evening check in on a road trip. The front desk was warm and accommodating. dog friendly rooms were available. It was a quick walk to town were Patterson pub allowed us a late night meal. Not much open late in Mendocino. The room was large and spacious. Pull out couch bed was really uncomfortable, but king bed and pillow...

Welcoming road weary guests are our specialty, providing comfortable accommodations is our main concern. We do have some rooms with two double beds if a sofa bed does not fit the bill. True that late night dining is harder to provide and Patterson's is a wonderful place with late hours and we also give all of our guests 15% off...

We visited the Hill House Inn with a Groupon. We were kind of problem guests; we scheduled and canceled and rescheduled our Mendocino trip three or four times. Kudos to the staff for being patient with us. We did not have high expectations when we arrived, so I suppose we did not need much to be satisfied. It's not the...

Location is great. The hotel is easy access to just about anything. Service is great until 9pm. After that, you are pretty much on your own until the next morning. Good continental breakfast. Room looks old and dated.

We had no idea until we arrived that the TV show "Murder She Wrote" was filmed in the village of Mendocino and that the Hill House Inn (Cabot Cove Inn) was used often in the same show. So much for the "craggy coast of Maine" where Cabot Cove was supposed to be located. The lobby is filled with photos from...

Working for a hotel that was featured in a very popular TV series is exciting and we always enjoy the fans of the show "Murder She Wrote" as they discover that this is where it all happened. Photos of co stars in the series festoon the lobby wall and guests pore over those photos guessing the different actor's names. It...

Since Medocino is such a small town, while this B&B is located on outskirts, easy walk to town. Very clean, rooms are large and light. Has music on Sat nights in bar area which in mornings makes into a nice breakfast room. Great antiques and lovely public areas.

Mendocino is indeed a very small village and Hill House guests enjoy being able to walk down to dining and shopping in just a few short minutes. Hill House is one of the few places where you can do a little dancing and have a fine meal and be able to walk back to your room afterwards with the music...

Checked in to this Inn without a reservation on Memorial Day weekend. They gave us a 40% discount on a room with two beds, and the service was very friendly and accommodating. The outside of the property is beautifully landscaped and the location was great, just a couple blocks from downtown. However, the lobby is completely over stuffed with antique...

Unfortunately for travelers coming to our area on holiday weekends the pricing in our village may seem higher than some areas, this is attributed to our remote location and limited number of accommodations. We realize that and try when we can to offer discounts to guests when we can. The décor of our hotel reflects a different era and the...
