Two nights on business made comfortable by this affordable, quiet and pleasant hotel in the heart of Menlo Park. Coffee and fridge in room. Lots of amenities. Free, if sparse, breakfast. Settled well back from street so very quiet.

The rooms are cozy and look warm and nice. The bathroom could use some updating and the water pressure in the shower wasn't very high. The AC/heating is pretty loud. The staff was super friendly and the breakfast is actually really good. Much better than I expected. Bottom line: I'd recommend staying here.

After carefully reading the TripAdvisor recommendations in the MenloPark and Palo Alto neighbourhoods, we have hesitatingly chosen to stay in the Red Cottage Inn during our two-weeks visit to SLAC. Serendipitously, it was an excellent choice indeed, To start with, we were upgraded from a premium king room to a nice suite in the second floor, having a full kitchen...

Right up the road from the business district of Menlo Park, the Red Cottage Inn is a quirky little motel that seems to be from another era. The location is good, close to Menlo Park and Stanford University with reasonable access to Hwy 101 and 280. My room was a little small although the bathroom had been freshly remodeled and...

I gave this place 4 stars, but my wife will have given it 5. To me, a 5 is absolutely perfect. I have seen people give a hotel 1 star because the Wifi wasn't good, which is ridiculous. BTW: the wifi isn't the best here. We stayed on the side that had one level with a very private patio area....

I spent hours trying to find a "reasonable" and clean place to stay in MP on business - all the known brands were sold out or ridiculously expensive. This place was clean, relatively modern, quiet and relaxing. The breakfast was indeed a deluxe continental - muffins, bagels, croissants, cereal, outmeal, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, breakfast bars, OJ, etc. Better than...

Living in the area, I'd always been curious about this hotel, but had never had the opportunity to check it out before now. The best part is its location: right on El Camino in north Menlo Park. The property is set well back from the street, so it is very quiet. You'll hear an occasional train, but nothing too unsettling....

This is a lovely, quiet Inn a few hundred feet off the main highway. The inn is friendly and accommodating. In the room there is a microwave, refrigerator, coffee pot. Good wifi and comfortable. The inn also provides a cold item breakfast that is quite nice. It is about a mile walk to downtown Menlo Park with a great selection...

This hotel (motel) is decent. It provides two bottles of free water, free parking, and free (but unreliable) WiFi. There is also a refrigerator and microwave. This is the second time I've stayed here this year. The unfortunate aspects are: 1) the walls are paper thin. I was up till 2 AM due to people outside at the pool area...

Room was quiet and had a private patio. Shower and air conditioning were perfect. Coffee in morning with continental breakfast was excellent. Also coffee and cookies at night were a pleasure. Less than 20 minutes to Stanford.
