I grew up in San Mateo. A trip to Stanford for a football game or going to the Stanford Mall always gives the warmest of memories. Back then, Stanford was "that mall out in the country." A drive on beautiful 280, down Sandhill Road was entering another world. As a teenager when I wanted to "get away", it was always a wonderful day trip that always gave golden moments in time. Fast forward in life, now living in Sacramento, I was able to stay here on Mother's Day weekend. My mom passed away over 13 years ago so I wanted to place flowers early Sunday morning, so I thought I'd treat myself and stay here a night. It couldn't have been more wonderful. The grounds are truly a park like setting. A beautiful fountain greets you, wonderful rocking chairs adorn the walkway and a delightful bench with a statue of Benjamin Franklin to the left of the entrance door. The lobby is elegant yet cozy. I knew I was in a special place upon entry. The courtyard has fire pits, comfortable chairs. A few steps away lies a beautiful swimming pool and large trees surrounding the property; I believe they look to be redwoods. I had chosen a room with a fireplace, and after walking downtown, then over to the mall at THE MELT (fantastic grilled cheese), did what I needed to do and came in for the night. I lite the log in the fireplace, turned down the lights and peacefully fell asleep to the glow of the room, and soft crackling sounds of the fire. Hadn't felt that at peace in quite sometime. Early Sunday morning, went to visit mom and placed flowers. Came back, enjoyed the rest of my stay then sadly headed out. I can't say enough about this wonderful hotel, but at the same time a bit saddened because she wants to have people back! The beautiful bar was empty, the Menlo Tavern still closed due to COVID. If you want a peaceful stay, surrounded by a great staff, wonderful area, walking distance to everything, The Stanford Park Hotel is jewel. Thank you so much for a new memory to add to the already golden ones.…
We needed a little getaway, but with time couldn’t go too far, and the Stanford Park delivered! From the welcoming and very funny gentleman at the front desk (who happened to be there both day and night) to the impeccably clean room, it was exactly what we needed. Also, don’t miss the warm cookies and wine in the evening.
Had an extended stay at the hotel and it was fabulous. Great amenities such as heated pool, 24 hour fitness center, a few steps from Stanford Shopping Center make this the perfect place to stay. The staff at the hotel made it feel like home from the moment I arrived.
I brought my 4 year old for her birthday and we did the American Girl package. We arrived before check in and the staff was amazing to get everything set up early for us. They also accommodated a late check out to coordinate with our flight. The staff was kind, attentive, and made us feel so welcome. The property is beautiful. The room was spotless and comfortable. We enjoyed the heated pool, fireplace with s’mores kits, and warm cookies before bed. It was a fantastic trip!
We have stayed here several times and never had a bad experience. It’s a lovely place to stay. Service is excellent across the board. Even under the Covid-19 restrictions it was a pleasant comfortable stay.
