The Westin San Francisco Airport hotel garners appreciation for its renovated rooms featuring modern amenities and comfortable beds. Guests have called out the convenience of the airport shuttle and the overall cleanliness of the establishment. However, the hotel's value is a point of contention, with some visitors critical of the steep charges for amenities. While the location is prized for its proximity to SFO, others find it somewhat isolated. Service experiences vary, with reports of both friendly assistance and occasional indifference.

Had a good stay at the Westin at SFO for a final night of a major business conference in town. Room prices were nosebleed high due to the conference in SF and the property was OK, with comfortable bed, OK breakfast buffet.

Housekeeping staff seemed overworked and stressed about turning rooms around quickly, asking me when I planned to leave my room the morning of checkout. Don’t mind telling them so that they can work more efficiently, but seems like the staff is overworked and under pressure.

Parking onsite is the only parking option and costs $30 which is excessive and should be provided free for Marriott Bonvoy Members.

The overall hotel is a 4 based on amenities. I enjoy working out when traveling for work and the gym is well spaced (COVID appropriate), requires but does not enforce masks (lots of signs reminding people which is nice), well cooled, and the equipment was all in working order. The pool area looks really nice and has great ventilation (COVID appropriate), and the hot tub felt amazing after a long workout.

As a titanium member I was upgraded to Bayview which had an awesome view of the SFO runway. I don't have problems with noise, but the planes were surprisingly quiet considering how close you are. My room itself had a cigarette smell in the closet and the room was damp and smelled a bit moldy. This may have been due to the room next door which was cleaned for about 2-3 hours. I did not realize that the housekeeping was due to a water leak until they left an industrial blower outside my room. I had to be up at midnight so I did not bother changing rooms as that would have cost me even more sleep, but this was not ideal. I had to turn off the blower when I slept as it was 10x louder than the airplanes outside... Even when I checked out the room felt moist and the windows had some condensation inside.

It feels like if they knew a water spill occurred in the neighboring room then they would have preemptively moved me, especially considering the hotel seemed fairly empty. They were cleaning up the mess before I checked in so it was definitely known.

The rooms appear a bit dated, but the bathrooms had been refreshed so nice lighting and a good look. The shower was strong.

Parking is $30 and plentiful, the lot has areas that are well lit and felt safe. There is also an amazing lobster restaurant right next door (3-4 minute walk) and the restaurant had a good selection. I had to be on site so I did not try the breakfast.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone who needs to stay near the airport. The amenities are awesome, the bed is amazing as always, and the rooms are okay. Staff is quick and friendly. Just keeping things in mind like relocating rooms during maintenance which is a hotel staple would give them a 4-5 rating.

Dear Andrew, While we're glad you enjoyed many aspects of your stay with us, it is unfortunate that not everything was perfect. Please know that due to enhanced cleaning procedures enacted for the safety of our guests and personnel, some of our rooms may be unoccupied and still unfit to be rented. That being said, please know that our team is always willing to accommodate our guests should we know about any issues while you're with us. I stayed at the hotel last weekend for a stopover while travelling from Australia to the East Coast.

The hotel was perfect for an airport stopover:

a) the courtesy shuttle bus runs every 15 minutes and is only a 5 minute journey to the hotel........great service.
b) I arrived at the hotel at about 9 am (well before check-in time) and asked if it was at all possible to get an early check-in. The staff member who checked me in was happy to help and gave me a choice of two water-view rooms. I was in the room by 9.30. This was fantastic given that I had traveled all night.
c) I ate in the restaurant on two occasions........breakfast and dinner........both meals were very good.

The room, foyer, etc. were all consistent with what you would expect to find at a Westin Hotel. Nothing to fault.

I decided to spent the afternoon walking the Golden Gate Bridge. The Uber fare to the bridge was just under US$40.

The waterfront is across the road from the hotel. There is a footpath a long the waterfront that is popular with the locals. There are a lot 'aircraft enthusiasts' taking photographers of the planes landing and taking off from the airport.

I was not disturbed by any aircraft noise while staying at the hotel.

On the off chance that you have an interest in wildlife, the mudflats near the hotel are one of the best bird watching locations in the area. I went out just before sunset (high tide) and found huge flocks of waders (Avocets, Stilts, Plover and other species) plus a few species of duck.

Have been to this hotel numerous times in the past 6 years. Things have constantly changed and rarely do you get something reliable or dependable. From one stay to another it’s one change to another. One time you get the breakfast, the next time you don’t. The next time you’re rewarded the breakfast but only the “continental” and of you want he full breakfast you have to pay extra. And this is for platinum elite guests that are loyal. This last time I was awarded the breakfast but I was told it was a one time thing.

My room was ok, definitely had worse. Good shower, comfortable bed, AC wasn’t exactly on point, one of the weaker units that didn’t put out much so that’s always unfortunate. Honestly it just gets old.
Every time I come here it’s something different, one time you get something the next time you don’t, which isn’t really reliable, not to mention the hotel rates are almost always sky high.

This last time I was given the breakfast and my room was ok which is why I’ve bumped up their rating to average. My hope is they continue to do this and keep something consistent for members that are loyal. But who knows. Either way it used to be terrible and this is a bit of an improvement. I hope they get better.

I stay at this hotel frequently for business and it is one of the best airport hotels for convenience, hospitality and cleanliness (which of course has been especially important during the pandemic ).
The reduced menu is served (for take out obviously) from the hostess stand . The choices are limited but the food is very good and the beverage selection is also adequate. Norma usually oversees this operation . Norma is very cordial , organized and excellent at the job . She is always a pleasure to interact with . I have never once been to the restaurant when Norma was not working and she always makes me smile .
It is a pleasure to stay at this property !

I prefer older hotels because they are typically well built and quiet. While this hotel was certainly well built it has not been well maintained. There were lots of small issues that I noticed on my one night stay; had I been there longer I'm sure I would have found more.
1. All of the room doors have black marks all over them due to luggage rubbing against the door. It makes the hallway look awful.
2. Upon entering the room there is a shabby metal service cover for the air conditioner that was barely attached. Is this really the first thing I should see when I open the door?
3. Next to the bed, there is a phone cord ungracefully exiting the wall and going under the carpet. Had I slept on that side of the bed I likely would have tripped over it.
4. The toilet paper dispenser is on the wall BEHIND the toilet. I'm young and in good health but I had trouble accessing the toilet paper while sitting on the toilet. I can't imagine anyone appreciating the location.
5. The room was laid out similar to a Sheraton king room but where Sheraton has nice wood furniture this Westin has cheap particleboard.
6. You need a key card to use the elevator but there is only one in each elevator even though there are buttons on both sides of the elevator.

On the plus side, everyone I dealt with at the hotel was charming and professional. My room was quiet and the bed was comfortable.

I had breakfast in the restaurant. It was ridiculously overpriced but delicious. The cappuccino was made perfectly but the coffee used was bitter and acidic.

How shall I start? Well, the event was a fairytale wonderland. I booked the Grand Ballroom for my guests. Vicki I.-Account Director Catering made me feel at ease from the beginning which was 1 year ago. By July, we met again to finalize our event. Then Camille C.- complex
Executive Meeting Manager follow through on our plan since Vicki went on vacation. They’re both attentive to details, timely & very efficient.
On the day of the event, it was amazingly a red carpet experience from Nicole (check in & check out) to the staff serving food, bartenders & the clean up crew (Sevda).
It’s worth it to be a member of the Marriott Bonvoy, that I was able to late check out my suite 1/5 rooms I booked inspite of that busy weekend.
Vicki recommended Danilet Fandino to us. For setting up, coordinating and glamorizing our venue that night. My immediate family and all my guests were overwhelmed with excitement and admiring the whole venue as they enter the ballroom, as if they entered into a fairytale wonderland.
That evening was perfect and a jaw dropping experience for all of us. Everyone danced the night away till the iced water were run dried, lol. The Buffett tables were served with freshly made delicious food, desserts & nonstop excellent show of food service i.e. coffee, tea, iced water.
Westin staff, took care of the cutleries & serving plates for the delayed cutting of the cake. Dani pulled everything to an excellent start to finish. She’s an amazing human being with a heart of gold and very professional.
I couldn’t ask for anyone to handle such an event.
I can write so much more and can go on and on with how perfect Zailea’s debutante celebration.
If there’s a 1-100% score. As a whole, it will be 201% score from me.
Again, I’m forever thankful to Vicki from Westin, Dani (event coordinator) #danified #flowersandeventsbydani
and the rest of the crew for everything you did to make everything as wonderful as it turned out to be.
This is a once in a lifetime event for my daughter that she will forever remember. Thank you all❤️❤️❤️The Flores Family.

The dining room is very dark and the breakfast buffet presentation is very poor and old fashion. There was no buffet attendant scheduled to attend the buffet and no one designated to replenish the buffet . The wait staff did an outstanding job and tried very hard to take care of the guests . Thank you waitstaff .
The China bowls and platters are not very attractive .The buffet looks sad, very uninspired and not inviting. Very overpriced for what you get. The cheese board was nearly empty and consisted of small cubes of generic cheap cheddar and mozzarella. The blueberry bowl was empty as there was only 2 small waffles triangles hard as a cardboard that were sitting in an open chaffing dish with some cold waffle syrup on the side . The scramble edges were very good and perfectly cooked . There was only two half baked tomatoes luke warm in one open chaffing dish. The bacon and sausages were cold . The bacon was over cooked and dry. The sausages were very greasy . The potatoes were cold , shriveled up and over cooked but when a new batch arrived they were cooked perfectly. I assumed the first batch was deep fried? The shot glass of smoothies were good . The Cantaloupe melon cubes were tasteless. The croissants and scones were horrible dry and of very poor quality. There was only 1 croissant and 1 scone in the bakery case . Better 100 % butter croissants at Costco . No butter, jam or honey available ? Had to ask for milk, coffee and OJ several time to the waiter who was very efficient and caring.
Bread toaster needs to be clean and poor selection of bread . Yogourts were good .
Mister Peter XU the front office manager was not very nice to us and to another guest.
Very disappointing.

I've stayed here before, and though the hotel isn't really a quality Westin property, I thought it would be convenient for a late flight arrival. OOPS!!
When I arrived, my reserved King room had been given away (despite a paid reservation) and was placed in an accessible double - - which I learned upon entering means NO CLOSETS, NO bathroom countertops, and adjoining doorways through which you can literally hear conversations in the next room (sorry nice couple!). When requesting a change of rooms, I learned this was all that remained - BUT if I wanted to pay a full cancellation fee I could move to a different Marriott property as they are a "franchise hotel" and don't relocate guests.
As a compromise, I requested they at least provide something to hang clothes on (I have a presentation tomorrow), but alas, even that was too much to ask.
So buyer beware, and expect no assistance...

I have been staying in this hotel for the past five years, June and December, I love the location since it is near the airport, near El Camino with a lot of restaurants, near a lot of Catholic churches, near a Costco, and of course the view of the airport. Also, there is a shuttle that brings us to the airport every 30 mins. Sadly my stay last June 5-7 was very very disappointing, maybe its the covid 19 measures, I dont know, there is no breakfast in the ground floor rest., housekeeping is quite complicated and you have to pre advise, but what really was the major disappointment of this trip was the airport shuttle. I do understand this is contracted to a private company but still Westin shud take command responsibility-On June 7, our flight was 530am and we were in the lobby by 345, literally the first one waiting for the shuttle, the driver comes with the bus, so i go to the rear to help him with the bags, instead he disregards us and gets the smaller bags instead and the other passengers, and tells us to wait for the next shuttle, I then tell him we have a flight to catch and we can put the bags along the aisle, he shrugs it off and tells me he does not care since he has to follow safety protocols for the bus, I inform him we were way ahead of the others, falls on deaf ears. the saving grace was Jessica who was at the front desk at that time, who managed to ensure the we would fit on the next bus, and literally, we were the last two passengers allowed, now how much of a headache can this driver get, and because of his behavior, I have decided to forego WEstin in my future trips, there are so many hotels beside Westin but because of the attitude of this driver, who represents Westin, no more WEstins for me, actuaslly this is not the first time I had a problem with these drivers, June of 2019 I also had a misencounter buyt decided to just let it go. The drivers are usually Filipinos or Chinese, I am a Chinese yet I do not behave as rude and uneducated as some of these driver do. Management, pls investigate
