I’ve actually been a loyal resident at this location since July 2022. Since that time the facility has transitioned through several managers and front desk staff. I’m highly satisfied and impressed since Micheal and Yesenia joined the team. Their professionalism, customer service, care and concern, and customer safety has been phenomenal! It’s been a true blessing since Michael and Yesenia arrived at the Monrovia location.

Was always able to book a room and never had an issue. I would normally arrive early and was allowed access to a room, probably because I was a frequent customer. Management at the location changed and all of a sudden I was accused of having preferential rates yet the eventual rate I was quoted matched what I had been previously paying. Then I was informed that for every hour I arrived early, there was an additional $10 per hour charge! I usually arrived in the early morning and since the room was clean and available, I was permitted to rent the room. If the room is vacant, where is the extra cost to the facility? I arrived at 8:00am which was normal for me for several years. They asked for an additional $70 besides the room fee of $110 per day. I have stayed at the local Marriot or Hyatt for less than that so I had to walk away. This is a hidden charge that is not evident when you book a reservation which is a major complaint involving some hotels. Then, to make matters worse, the current management revealed to me that she realized I was never assessed this exorbitant and unreasonable charge but that was the "fault of the prior manager and staff which is why they are no longer employed." Sad... Not only is customer service an issue but maligning the character of former employees. Sad...

The Extended Stay America is a great hotel for the price. Its very affordable for all the amenities that they provide with the price. The Extended Perks Program makes a big difference with a long stay. The property itself is very well kept up and is in a great neighborhood. Their aren't a lot off riff-raff hanging around and the other guests here look like decent people (very non-threatening). The rooms are well maintained and there does not seem to be any issues with the sinks or the electric stove or refrigerator. Everything in the room works well. It even has a quiet air conditioner. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the staffs professionalism all the way around its been nothing but a positive experience for me

The hotel is directly off the 134, and relatively business street that runs to through Arcadia shopping district. As close as the hotel is to the highway, and busy street there is minimal noise from these roads heard within the building. I am traveling on business, and the hotel itself is quiet, no loud yelling or parties in the past 6 months that I have been at the location. Cleanliness is top notch, they appear to clean the common areas twice a day, with weekly room cleaning. The staff that I've interacted with has been pleasant, Lisa, and the rest of the staff have been very kind and helpful my entire stay.

Ive been in this hotel for more than a year. Not only is it a great deal but the hotel staff are extraordinary. I've never had an issue that wasn't resolved in a timely manner. From housekeeping to general maintenance to front desk & graveyard the staff here truly care about the guest experience. I highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a great location for a family.

This place is cleanish. When I say clean ish I mean it depends where you look some things in the room and throughout the hotel are clean while others although not disgusting are definitely not clean. Think stains on the fridges and on the curtains but the bed is clean. You get what you pay for and at 90 dollars a night it’s good enough. The service isn’t unfriendly but they are not particularly friendly either. It’s a cheap hotel and it feels like it. If your a clean freak like me avoid it but if you just need a place to stay this is fine. Don’t expect this place to be spotless which is something you might want during a pandemic.

Great service manager and staff were supper friendly very clean rooms and kitchen worked perfect. Will definitely consider staying here had no problems what so ever, parking is great there’s lots of room and the laundry mat came in handy didn’t have to go anywhere to wash we stayed for a week and everything worked out great. Rooms are 100% noise proofed never heard any type of noise during our stay

I've stayed at the Extended Stay in Monrovia for the past two months. It has been a very pleasant experience. The staff is very friendly, attentive and efficient. Special shout out to Belen who offers a friendly greeting every morning & took the time to put together a small package for my bday. How awesome is that?!! My room is comfortable, clean and feels like home. Along with laundry machines for my personal needs, they clean my bed linen and towels on a weekly basis. In addition to the hotel amenities this Ex Stay offers, I have a great view of the mountains from my room. This Extended Stay definitely feels like my home away from home.

My review is a mixed bag. I’ll start with the bad news, then go to the good. The condition of our room was well below average for our recent stay. There was a hole in the window screen, there were red pen scribbles all over the wall next to the bed, the range hood had some permanent stains, the bath dial needed cleaning, and the light switch next to the bed on the side away from the window worked poorly. The “grab and go” breakfast was a choice of two packaged muffins, and there wasn’t milk or cream for the coffee(just artificial creamer). (There were granola bars on our last night). The elevators work well, but the ads in them are worn and have been drawn on extensively; the metal inside has been extensively scraped up and looks bad. Not much of a lobby, either.
Those elements were all well below average for my recent travels.
Now for the good parts: The service, especially the front desk service, was top-notch—friendly, got to know us on our four nights there, very efficient, and responded well when we needed more room supplies (important, because the rooms are not cleaned each day unless you pay extra). Parking was easy and the neighborhood felt very safe. Its location is very good. It’s visible from the 210 and a very short drive off of it. There are many restaurants to choose from nearby, and there is a Trader Joe’s a short drive away. Nice full sized fridge. We also liked that it is only about a 15 minute walk to the Gold Line light rail with easy access to Old Town Pasadena and downtown LA. We were looking for a good place near the much more costly Doubletree up the street where my brother Peter and family were staying—we all were out for the Rose Bowl. Price wise, it fit the bill and was far cheaper than the Pasadena places.
Overall, the hotel’s condition and breakfast could have been better. The front desk staff and location, though, get top marks. It was a satisfactory value overall considering when we traveled there.
Two other geographic notes: This hotel is on the Monrovia-Arcadia border, so it is also handy to Arcadia. But: note that there is another ESA in Arcadia, under a mile away. Make sure you keep them straight. My wife’s cousin came down to meet us and went to the wrong one.
