Hotel's Favourite
We stay here often. The facilities and staff are always of a high standard. It is always a happy time to go back. Highly recommended. Going to the Derby up the road is always a good experience to, but if you stay in the restaurant and eat it is 5* too

Few years ago this hotel was nice and clean. Over three last 6-7 yrs it seems it’s going down hill with customer service- being friendly and cleanliness is lacking. Front desk wasn’t very accommodating. When we arrived our larger room selection was not available. And we had to take a smaller room with no lower rates to accommodate a switch. Upon arriving in the room is smelled like coy and marijuana. We requested 2 extra large rooms non-smoking since we have children. I expected a clean smelling room. Especially during the pandemic you would hope to not have to breathe the smell of second hand smoke.

Arrived after a swing-shift (midnight). Something as simple as having warm cookies available at midnight made it taste even better hahaha. Rooms were clean. I slept without no issues through the morning. Housekeeping was quiet in other rooms…or at least I didn’t hear anything during my stay.

Checked in yesterday and we knew from check in this was not the same place. No bottled water offered (free for diamond members) or cookies. We asked about late check out, not really accommodating or even friendly. AC shut down in hotel at night for some reason and our room filled with smoke at 3 am from the outside air and fires nearby. Checked into another hotel this morning and paid for another night to get away from the smoke. Canceled our next reservation here.

I actually think DoubleTree is nice, besides the fact that the sink faucet can be designed better so water doesn't get all over the counter.
However, it was my experience over Memorial Day weekend that made me give one star. My boyfriend and I checked in Friday night after a tiring day. There was a "Do not disturb" sign on the door, which I thought was odd. We walked in and everything looked clean so I didn't worry about it. While we were eating our takeout, we noticed some belongings under the bedside table that didn't belong to us. That worried us and made us question if the room was really cleaned or not.. but again, I looked around and everything was made for a new guest. We were so tired, we just decided to sleep instead of investigate and complain. Then around midnight while we were sleeping, some people walked in and the lights turned on by the door. I heard the guy say "Oh, there's people here" and then walk out. WTF?!! Half asleep, we called the front desk and the person told us that there were belongings left here and something in the fridge. We just left everything outside the door and decided to deal with it in the morning. However, it bothered me so much, I didn't get much sleep.
Saturday morning, I talked to the manager, who was very polite and tried to help us. We both were trying to figure out how someone had access to my room since the previous key cards should be deactivated. I told him I didn't feel safe and he offered to switch our rooms and comp part of that previous night. However, we were in a hurry and on our way out so we just got new keys instead.
Upon checking out on Monday, it hit me that maybe it was actual employees that were in the room! It made more sense than previous guests leaving unimportant, replaceable items and then having access to come back later for them. After all, the belongings were a box of condoms, coconut lotion, a cheap string backpack, and an energy drink in the fridge. What if employees were using the room to do who knows what? And to think I was only worried about coronavirus in the hotel. So much for the new program Hilton adopted with the maker of Lysol for a cleaner and safer stay. I am now entirely disgusted, hence the one star review.

With my stay extended, tried to book the Embassy Suites where by next 3 nights were, though was showing a crazy high rate…so ended up in the Double Tree…and was not upset about the experience.
Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 regulation in LA county, the hotel had stopped all F & B service except from the room service menu for breakfast. Pool and gym are also closed.
Hotel location is great, ample parking and easy to find off the freeway. Many good dining areas close to hotel, all walking distance. Rooms are nice & well-equipped. Only issue and nothing to do with hotel is the LA county regulations on dining. Currently ( October / November) no indoor dining is available, a number of restaurants have erected tents, so they can allow some socially distanced outdoor dining…( in a tent with most of the sides of the tent down, so much like indoors….?!) Other restaurants are only offering takeaway.
Would be happy to stay again at the property.

Overall nice hotel but the ac sucks. Room was stuffy for most the time and you couldn’t take a shower or bath without the room getting even hotter because of the bad working ac. We got to check in early with purchasing early check in through Hilton honors they accommodated our request quickly

We had requested connecting rooms and when we checked in online they were not available. I had called ahead of time and they said it was confirmed. When i called the day of they said they were under construction and promised rooms next to each other. Later when i checked in that day they told me they had to move our rooms again down the hall from each other and would not work since we have little ones. This was frustrating since we particularly picked this place for that reason.
After checking in the room we went to the pool. While we were out there security approached-family telling them the spa was too full. Some people left but later the manger came out. he told them someone complained and they got upset. He didn’t remain calm and the situation went bad quickly and he didn’t handle it well at as a manager. i was able to talk with the family and the situation stated to calm down but the manager did not know how to mange a potential race issue. I would expect Hilton would have done more conflict management diversity training.

We arrived in the evening and left early in the morning before the breakfast service. Since we were unable to take advantage of the comp breakfast offered to Diamond members, we were given drink vouchers which was a nice touch. The hotel seemed a little dated, but we slept well (Room 1018) and access back to the freeway was easy. We would stay here again if we are in the area.

Stayed for one night on a family booking for 4 in 2 rooms. At check in we were informed the rooms were on separate floors. Unacceptable for a family booking. Front desk said if we wanted to secure rooms close by we should have phoned up the morning before arrival. I've never heard this before from any of the hotels I've stayed in across the world. The problem was made worse by the out of service elevators. Very lengthy waits. Other guests stated the elevators are often a problem at this hotel. We will not return.

You would need to request a balcony.
There is a shower head. There is no curtain because there is a large lip to the bath tub so be careful when getting out.
Also the hydra nozzles in the bath are deliberately switched off.
Yes you can. Just be sure that the name on the package matches the name on the reservation and we will hold the package at the front desk.
Let us know if you have any other questions!
I was there over the Rose Bowl weekend, and even then the rooms were extremely quiet. I am not sure if any new renovations have started since then because that was over New Year's Eve, but I found the hotel to be very pleasant.
