It is good old fashioned motel-motor lodge in a beautiful setting. It is an older motel and they have done well without doing a modernization. Very clean. The bed was not fancy but comfortable. The breakfast is very basic. For people who like the newer models of rooms that are very spacious and have lots of places to put clothes... More

INNKEEPER’S FAVOURITE REVIEW
Reviewed 20 April 2016

With many wedding guests traveling from afar, our daughter announced that for their wedding she and her fiance wanted a casual place that we could "commandeer" for a whole weekend. A place that had lodging, ceremony, reception and rehearsal dinner space. REALLY?? After a great deal of research we discovered Rio Villa Beach Resort and it could not have been... More

Nice, clean and dog friendly, fair priced and access to the Russian river. Large rooms, two rooms some have river views all have telephone and wifi. right down the street is a little deli and across the bridge is a little super market. Summer time you can rent canoes and kayaks on theonte Rio Beach. Wonderful times

Very small, quaint and cute river resort. Nicely decorated and clean cottage style rooms, met our needs for the location. Cute little patio areas. Grounds could use some sprucing up. Beautiful setting on the Russian River, and a short walk to rent kayaks/canoes etc as well as the city beach. Parking is very tight.

We stayed two nights. The grounds are nice and the setting is great. The room was clean but very dated. Overall building maintenance could be better. There are lots of creaky boards, splinters to be had, leaves all over the balconies, spiders, etc. Nothing a little more proactive maintenance could not fix... Honestly, this property could be amazing if more... More

We enjoyed our stay at the Rio Villa. Our balcony unit was clean and comfortable. The lawn and river front are the perfect place to watch the birds, fish, and kayakers go by. We appreciated being able to take our pet. The adjacent highway can be busy, so I would recommend getting a room away from the road. We hope... More

Nothing fancy. Basic look of the 50s, but relaxing place with nice patio area, and fire pit. I would not call it a "beach", but there is room to get a kayak, or canoe to water. Picture of river is accurate. Beware of Google or maps directions, but the drive, from any direction is full of sights.

A throwback to an earlier time. And we loved it. These are small side-by-side cottages that are comfortable, clean and well-appointed. The property is gorgeous and fun to explore. There are lots of great local activities and the Russian River Valley is amazing. Although the cottages are nicely decorated and clean, the experience may not be for everyone. For those... More

Our unit reeked of disinfectant for hours, it didn't dissipate until the next day. The 2' x 2' shower stall had moldy grout. The walls are thin, you can hear conversation next door. We left the door hanger out for maid service, but our room wasn't touched. The decor is very old, even stray nails dotted the walls. The effort... More

The grounds at this place are amazing! Take a book and a bottle of wine and enjoy the beautiful view. The manager of the property (Karen) is also very helpful. Breakfast was good and location is awesome. We had room #11 on the ground floor. Another tip especially with kids take a smores kit for the outdoor fireplace. We can’t... More
