After lots of research and endless reviews, I booked a room here. I was looking for a nice room in the midrange. Couldn't afford something on the water and didn't want something cheapo and minimal. I was very pleased with our room and our stay. The decor was very nice and modern. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The...

We booked a room here and actually checked in.  The room was very nice with a lovely patio and fireplace.   But after our first immediate positive impression we noticed two things.  First, even though the bathroom appeared clean there was a strong sour moldy smell.  We checked around and couldn't really find the source...it was powerful.  We thought at...

this was a good stay. Weeks after booking the rooms I noted the rates dropped, I called and spoke to a manager who did reduce the rates for me, although she didnt seem particularly happy about it. the lobby is very small but nicely decorated. the room was nice sized with a comfy chaise lounge, nice decor, fireplace with flat...

After scouring the many B&Bs and hotels along the coast, I landed on Mariposa Inn and Suites. From the moment we walked into reception, we loved it. It was beautifully decorated, with a gas fireplace, and Trip Advisor certificates of excellence proudly displayed on the mantle piece. I was a bit concerned when we spoke to the gentleman behind the...

This place is a pleasant surprise. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated. The gas fireplace is really a nice touch and it helps heat the room a bit. They have a pool, hot tub and a nice outdoor sitting area complete with heaters! The location is good; close to the freeway and to downtown. We drove to Fisherman's Wharf...

Stayed September 2010 We stayed overnight at this inn. We expected something a little nicer than a Best Western and were shocked by how awesome and luxurious it was! This must be one of the cleanest and most modern inns / motels that i've ever visited! I have stayed in countless 4-star hotels and a handful of 5-star resorts. This...

First the good...If you research surrounding properties, the Mariposa is very budget friendly. It is centrally located with easy driving access to the Monterey Wharf among other things. The breakfast included fresh fruit and some very good pastries. FYI...serving staff does work for tips. I didn't know that and felt bad leaving without putting anything in the jar. The room...

We called at the Mariposa on the day we checked in, on the recommendation of my family. The hotel was able to accommodate our party of four adults in one of their "town house" rooms which has two bedrooms on 2 floors (accessed on the lower floor). The staff were friendly and nice and made a good recommendation for our...

Our group had reserved 14 rooms. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and they were all a little different. My husband and I had a second floor room with a deck to sit out on and enjoy our morning coffee. One lady was traveling with her 2 grown daughters and they had a room with...

This is actually a decent inn. The only problem I had was the ceiling fan made a loud clicking sound when it was on high. My wife turned it out in the middle of the night because the room was stuffy and it woke me up. I asked her what the clicking sound was and she told me it was...
